Nice and peaceful cottage

  • 5 of 5

Chris was very quick to answer any questions I had. I enjoyed the stay and only wish I had gone earlier so that the weather would have been a little warmer. The cottage was stocked with just about anything you would need (even though I brought a lot with me, I still forget some things and found them there). I was looking for a nice peaceful location and that is what I found the property to be during my stay. Would like to try again with warmer weather. Thanks Chris and George!

cozy and quiet

  • 5 of 5

Perfect getaway - fire place, big comfy chairs, thick flannel sheets, busy bird feeders, country roads for long walks. We recommend Festival Foods for your grocery run and, if you're up for a 30 minute drive, Quivey's Grove for dinner (Fitchburg). Many thanks to Chris and George for sharing their cozy cabin!

Cozy & comfortable home away from home

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my little dog in early November and we had a wonderful trip. I was looking for a place to escape (I live in Chicago) from population and noise for a few days and almost every place I researched was either too big or too close to other people. But this cottage was just perfect! The cottage was totally charming, thoughtfully appointed, clean, and welcoming. We were very happy here and had everything we needed and more. The property was big enough for my dog to be happy exploring, and the cottage was always warm and cozy. We will definitely come back!

Great quiet retreat from the working world.

  • 5 of 5

The seclusion & coziness of the cabin was just what we were looking for. Found some great restaurants in the area. George is a native of the area and had very interesting information & experiences to share with us. Thanks for your kindness & hospitality!

Quaint & cozy

  • 4 of 5

This is s very tiny cottage. We made it work for us (2 adults), though. It’s one of those places where it’s not perfect, and yet we know we’ll probably come back.

Owner's Response: To be accurate, this cottage is 625 square feet, which does not include the 10' x 10' screened porch, or the 15' x 10' deck , or the extremely large ,private lot that the cottage is situated on. The correct description of a "tiny" house is approximate living space of 120 square feet. most with wheels. As far as the description of "perfect" , that differs in all of us, what is perfect for one may appear totally imperfect for the next. It is unfortunate that the editors online review of the cottage differs so much from the very positive handwritten review left by that same editor in the cottage journal. This cottage has rented itself very well for the past seventeen years and we the owners , are responsible for the fact that we work very hard at what we do to "make it work" very well for most. Our hope is that the editor of this review will find perfect, somewhere, someday. The Owners

Beautiful house on the water

  • 5 of 5

This house was just what we needed. We relaxed on the screened in porch looking at water and watching birds come in to the bird feeders. We kayaked and enjoyed the outdoor space. We had everything we needed in the house to cook a good meal. The owners are friendly, and they made great use of the small space. Our pets were welcome, and we would love to stay again. We highly recommend. Kathy & Ralph
