We find ourselves intrigued by the wine country and of the romance and mystique of the wine itself. This is your opportunity to enjoy the entire experience here in the Alexander Valley. From the time you awaken to the spectacular views to the golden sunsets of the area you will find yourself immersed in the wonders of the region. This wonderful 50 acre property is located on the rolling hillsides at the northern most end of the Alexander Valley. This unprecedented 'eastern view' captures many of the sites and other vineyards not usually found in the visual spectrum of the valley.

Why The Owner chose Sonoma County

We started this vineyard in 1989, and it is in full production of Chardonnay, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The total acreage is 50, however only 30 acres is planted in grapes. We are welcoming you as our guests into our Dream Home' that we built and have the opportunity to enjoy many months out of the year. The majority of our grapes are sold to St. Francis Winery in Sonoma County which is well known and respected for its wines. Our winery, Icaria Creek Vineyards is located on the premise and our son, Jeff is the wine maker.

Perfect place to spend time with family.

  • 5 of 5

We chose this location because my son participated in the Santa Rosa Ironman. We loved everything about the property. The home is beautiful with views that are breathtaking. The location is perfect for visiting many of the Sonoma wineries. Be sure to treat yourself to a private tasting at Icaria Creek.

Prettier and spacious than the property description

  • 5 of 5

We rented this place to attend a wedding in Healdsburg. Our biggest regret is we did not get enough time to enjoy the property. The property is located on the top of the hill overlooking acres of vineyard and a pretty pond. There are several balconies and outdoor areas to sit, watch the sunrise and take in essential Napa/Sonoma landscape.

The internal layout is efficient and hence the usable space appears to be much larger than it actually is.

We did not use the kitchen and entertainment systems but the kitchen was clearly fully equipped. It also had a well-stocked pantry. I suspect those were left over items of previous renters.

Finally, keep some time to walk down the vineyard and take photos at the pond.

Small Town/Big House/Great Wine

  • 5 of 5

If you want a vacation rental that feels better than home, this is your place. The house is spacious and thoughtfully laid out. It fits beautifully on the hill to take maximum advantage of the terrain and views. The house is fully stocked and nicely furnished for maximum enjoyment. We had full access to the 50 acre property for morning/evening walks and picked a few blackberries down in Icaria creek. The winemaker gave us a private wine tasting (excellent wine) and offers his wines by the bottle or case. I cannot imagine a better place to stay when visiting the wine country.

First time in wine country

  • 5 of 5

Loved the views and the home. Didn't have time to schedule a wine tasting, but hope to on our next visit. We enjoyed walking the vineyards and watching the skydivers float down. The house was very comfortable and provided a great vacation venue for my family.

Like being at Grandma's.

  • 4 of 5

This is just what we wanted and needed to relax and unwind. The house is decorated in a "country style" which we all commented felt like grandmas. We are all in the food industry so the size of the kitchen was a nice surprise. The only downer was the flat top electric stove.. but we managed fine. We were all in love with the open concept, windows and view. Everyday we walked the vineyards and had a great workout from some pretty stiff hills. We were 3 groups all with our own rooms to spread out when needed. The one thing you need to know is it is right next to 101, but facing the other direction which helped. You also get a nice view of the airport which I didn't love at first but when all the parachutes started coming in.. we had a great time watching them land. We all would recommend this home to a group of friends or family.

Harvest time visit

  • 5 of 5

We love this place. We have stayed multiple times over the past several years. It is the perfect home base for exploring the Russian River, Alexander Valley, and Dry Creek Valley wineries. The view from the deck is just unbelievable. If you get a chance to have the Icaria winery owners Jeff and Helen Smith host a private barrel tasting downstairs you have to do it. They are amazing hosts and the wine is unbeatable. Don't miss this place.
