This charming, cozy beach house is a perfect casual vacation get-away. Located on Lieutenant Island in Wellfleet, you can experience “old Cape Cod” as it used to be. Lieutenant Island is a special place with windy sand roads and one of the best undiscovered bayside beaches on the outer Cape. This peaceful island is accessible by a causeway that traverses a beautiful salt marsh, passage is affected by high tide twice per day, adding to the adventure and remote feel of the island, yet you are only 2 miles from Route 6.
Nestled in the pines, this lovely, comfortable beach house has an open floor plan, large deck off the living room with very comfortable deck furniture for relaxing, sunning and dining. This home is in a private location, surrounded by pines and is a short walk to the beach. Nearby are wide expanses of ocean beach at the Marconi site on the National Seashore, the Cape Cod Rail Trail for bicycling, the Massachusetts Audubon Society – Bird Sanctuary with marked trails and a visitor center, the Wellfleet drive-in and movie theater and Sunday flea market and plenty of restaurants featuring the freshest of the local catch of the day!

As a child growing up in Connecticut, our summer vacations were cottage rentals in Eastham. I developed a love for the Cape from those great, childhood memories. I realized then that the simple pleasures of spending a day at the beach, enjoying the salt air, reading a book and just generally having relaxed 'down-time' were the best vacations.
Lieutenant Island is a unique location. Only 2 miles from Route 6 but with a remote and isolated feel, this location is not for everyone. The roads are windy, sand roads. A large part of the island is Mass. Audubon Society protected land. It is a nature lovers paradise. My cottage is comfortable, very casual with a cabin-like feel yet with an open airy beach-house vibe.
