Resort
Community of the Year'.
Lynn Hoffmann purchased this house in 2010
We've enjoyed vacationing in Duck and the Outer Banks for many years and believe Four Seasons neighborhood is the finest one in Duck due to the ideal location and it's unique style and year round amenities. It's an easy drive from the Mid Atlantic area one hour south of Norfolk, Va and the Airport. We also own VRBO # 56291 in Corolla Light, the 2010 Best Resort Community in North Carolina.
Where to begin .... You can take it easy or Go, Go, Go. depending onyour mood, companions and the time of the year. Staying home is a pleasure due to the comfort and style of Life o' Rily'. There is a great variety of scenic, cultural, natural, sport and relaxation options. A reasonable drive from major midatlantic cities but feels a world away. This area is becoming known as an event destination for family reunions, weddings and friends retreats. Our home accomodates large groups well and Four Seasons has year round amenities. We love walking or riding bikes around Duck Village. The natural beauty of the area is valued and protected and 'smart growth' is becoming the practice to limit over building and commercialization. The town's walking trails, shops and restaurants, Soundfront Park and boardwalk add a lot to the enjoyment and convenience of a visit to Duck .
" I just spent a great week at the beach in your house. Loved it! Our family normally stays down the street but this year we were at your place. Loved it...May many more people enjoy your house as much as we did!
We recently rented Life O'Rily to accommodate family traveling to the area for a wedding in Duck. The house was perfect!! Family ranging in age from 6 months to 80 years old. The rooms are all decorated very nicely, the beds are so comfortable and the house is equipped with all needed supplies , plus some. The downstairs game room and bedrooms are perfect for those staying up later at night. We also took advantage of the bicycles, the club house gym and the membership at the Kilmaric Golf Club. It was absolutely perfect!!! Thank you Lynn for all, it was a pleasure and great experience.
This house was a great first try for us and our friends 1st annual trip to the OBX. The house fit all the adults and kids perfect- it was a plus for everyone to have their own bathroom. It was a clean house all around. The pool was a hit with everyone, especially the slide. The house was equipped with all we needed- towels, bedding, beach equipment, kitchen gadgets and cooking utensils. It's was nice being so close to Duck. Lynn, the owner was so pleasant and responsive. I recommend this house as a must.
House is gorgeous and the amenities were fabulous. It's great for families with young and older kids. They provided a beach cart, boogie boards, bicycles, and sand toys. The slide into the pool was a huge hit with all the adults and children! The location is so close to Duck that you are able to walk ( or ride the bikes provided). My older children walked to the ice cream shop every night! The ONLY downfall is the house is far from the beach. It is not a few houses away from the sand. If you have young children you will not be going back and forth to the beach because it is a tiring walk for them. If your kids are older it's no problem because they can ride the bikes and can handle walking it several times but for kids 3 and under I would pack a lunch, snacks, drinks, and make sure they use the bathroom before hand!!! We would 100% rent this house again! It was fabulous!
Life O'Riley was the perfect place for our four-generation family getaway. Others have touted how well-equipped it is and what a wonderful development Four Seasons is, and we can only echo the same. What we loved:
1. Private baths for each of the eight bedrooms. We were five couples, four young grandkids, great grandpa, an aunt and niece. So nice to have mini suites for everyone! Plus a spare "public" half-bath off the upstairs kitchen / dining / living area if you needed it.
2. Pool, slide and two hot tubs. Everyone loved the slide including great grandpa. We spent more time here than at the beach which is a short walk away - and the beach is super. Lifeguards, great sand and miles of it!
3. Duck. The town is adorable and an easy walk. Four Seasons is the last turn before you arrive at Duck so you're really right there. Duck Donuts were a multi-day hit and we took advantage of the shops and restaurants. Recommend the boardwalk, then The Blue Point for dinner!
4. Condition - on arrival, the place was truly spotless. We gave it a good going over when we left, but I know the team would really make it shine for the next guests based on what we experienced.
With four generations, we did en masse beach time or split up for golf at Kilmarlic, others going into town and others hanging out poolside and rejoin for dinner then hot tub & more pool time or shooting-pool time later on. Relaxing, fun and over far too soon!
Lynn and team are on top of any feedback you give them. Super easy to work with - so much so that we've already booked our week for 2017! Can't wait to get back! Thanks, Lynn!
Just returned from a week at Life O'Riley with three generations of our family and loved the house.
I have been renting in NC, DE or MD beaches for the past 20 summers and have never found a home so well equipped. I usually bring my own kitchen gadgets and cooking utensils, no need. The kitchen had everything you could need including a roaster, crock pot, waffle iron and griddle to make feeding a crowd easy. The well stocked guest closet with beech chairs, bikes for adults and kids and just about everything else you need for the beach/pool was great. The beds were very comfortable as were the couches. The kids loved having their own pool/game/living room and the adults appreciated that the home has two hot tubs, a large pool and slide and that each bedroom had its own bathroom, flat screen TV and access to a deck (except one that is about 20 feet from the sliders to the pool).
The location was great, especially for being able to walk or bike to just about everything. We really enjoyed spending time at the beach and the Duck shops/boardwalk, both were an easy walk from the house. In the afternoon when the kids were to tired for the walk, the community offers a shuttle around the complex to the beach and main road.
Lynn was very easy to book with, her manager was great at coordinating our check in and kept in regular contact with us. We of course were one of those families who broke something, the lock to the sliding glass door, but maintenance replied to us immediately, making the repair in about an hour.
Overall it was a great house that allowed for a great week at the beach, we will stay at Life O'Riley again and are looking forward to it.
A note about the check in and check out. Your paperwork will ask you nicely not to go directly to the house to try to check in early and to call the manager instead.....this will be a benefit to you at check out....I have rented at other houses and been asked to wipe down all the surfaces, vacuum, sweep/mop and so on at check out before the cleaners come in, that is not the case at Life O'Riley and I loved that....you have a minimal check list and are on your way back home. The reason you don't have a lot to do at check out is because of how meticulous the cleaning crew is after you leave...... don't interrupt the cleaning crew.
We have been coming this week to outer banks for 7 years. We (ladies family) oldest is 75 youngest is 8. Your house has everything. The best equipped ever. I can see why this development has won awards. Beach side, indoor poo,l outdoor pool, playground , gym, sound side park. most importantly was the ease of renting from lynn. specifically Life O'Riley , bikes beach equipment (new) 7 houses to the beach. Beds were comfortable life was great at your house thank you again.
Besides its beaches, the Outer Banks is also known for its deep sea fishing which can be chartered from Oregon Inlet, nautical history and Lighthouses, Wright Memorial/birthplace of aviation, kite flying, surfing, off road beach driving, wild horse viewing and beach fishing, the beautiful National seashore drive down to Cape Hatteras and the ferry trips to Okrakoke Island among it's activities. There are antique and consigment shops, Tanger Outlet as well as many other shopping options. Duck Village & Corolla are nice places to wander around. The Soundfront Shops and the Town's Soundfront Park has beautiful boardwalks with benches fronting the Currituck Sound. A full summer program of entertainment and music is open to the public. Fresh local seafood and nearby restaurants give you many opportunities for dining out. Movies, mini golf, go carts and bowling are south in Kill Devil Hills area around mileposts 5 - 10. An aquarium and event facility is open on Jenrette's Pier in Nags Head. Manteo, on Roanoke Island, has the Elizabethan Gardens, the Dare county government, various public events and art league shows and historical exhibits.
Stop in the Harris Teeter on right or Food Lion on left for groceries after you cross over the Wright Memoral Bridge and before you turn onto Rt. 12 toward Duck.
In Duck, Tommy's Gourmet, Dockside Duck Seafood (by the liquor store)and Wee Winks have food and groceries. Four Seasons has a Rec Center on the right immediately after the entrance gate. You'll check in for parking passes and community information. The indoor pool and excercise room, game and meeting room, tennis and basketball courts are located there. A community trolley runs in the summer. Four Seasons has community walking & biking trails that connect to the Duck Village trails and a Soundfront pier.
Movies and other grocery stores are north in Corolla, too. Off road beach driving and fishing, Historic attractions, Audubon society and kayaking, The Historic Whalehead Club and Coastal Museum and the Corolla Lighthouse and small Corolla village are popular there.
On Rt.158 on the mainland is Sanctuary Vineyards and tasting room by the Cotton Gin, local family owned and operated. The Weeping Radish micro Brewery is nearby
there for the beer lovers.
