Silverthorne Condo Rental Photos and Description

Condo, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 7)

You will feel on top of the world in our beautifully furnished Watch Hill condo in Wildernest. Large south-facing windows look over expansive views of Buffalo Mountain, the Ten-Mile Range, and Lake Dillon. Vaulted ceilings give a spacious feel to this two-story unit, and the view from the master bedroom is unsurpassed.

The condo is on the second floor-- but don't worry, there are only 12 steps to climb. Three bedrooms provide comfortable sleeping accommodations for 6 adults, with king bed, queen bed, and a queen bed with a twin bunk on top for the kids. Additional sleeping for two is provided by twin air beds. Each bedroom has its own flat screen TV and VCR/DVD.

The kitchen is fully equipped for gourmet cooking, with new appliances, and the living room contains an entertainment center with a 39 in flat screen high definition cable TV, stereo, DVD player, and now HIGH SPEED INTERNET for your laptop! A large collection of movies, CDs, games, and books is provided for your entertainment. Wildernest is ideally situated within 15-30 minutes of all Summit County ski areas, and a shuttle bus provides free service to each area. After a day of skiing or hiking, enjoy watching the sun set over Buffalo Mountain, or relax in one of the three indoor and outdoor hot tubs, located just a short walk from our door.

About Sue Kinnamon

I live in the Front Range north of Denver. I use the 'Schussduck' as a vacation retreat-- a place to get away from it all. I love skiing, hiking, and fishing, all within easy reach of the condo.

Sue Kinnamon purchased this condo in 1991

Why Sue Kinnamon chose Summit County Colorado

I chose this condo because of its supurb view, its location in Wildernest, and the easy access to free public transportation to all Summit County ski areas.

What makes this condo unique

I love watching all the birds that come at our feeder on the balcony-- hummingbirds in the summer and blue jays in the winter. We even occasionally see a moose visiting the beaver pond just below our complex.

We had a very enjoyable stay here but you need a four wheel drive or chains if there is lots of snow

  • 4 of 5

The condo is lovely very nice for a family, my only issue is the cleaners had only just arrived at 4.00pm to clean after the last occupants so we were unable to unpack for a while. The views from the condo where lovely and the kids really enoyed seeing the lovely birds outside the window feeding out of the feeders.

Owner's Response: I'm sorry the cleaning service was late. I have contacted them and apparently they were short on staff that day, but they should have contacted me to let me know. Hopefully that will not happen again. Glad you had a nice vacation and hope you can return some day.

Beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

I came out with a friend and booked this condo at the last minute. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen because we tend to make our own meals. Parking right at the front door was nice also. The condo has a great layout and I really liked being able to hang the skis up and take my shoes off right at the front door. We had no issues to complain about at all.

Beautiful Views!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the Schussduck for 5 nights and it was wonderful. The photos definitely don't do the place justice.

The kitchen is updated and very well equipped. The views from the living room/dining area and bedroom are amazing. We were 5 adults and it was enough space for us. The top bunk is definitely for a child though, so our 5th person slept in the living room.

We utilized the indoor hot tub and it fit our needs just fine.

Sue is incredibly responsive and has everything you could possibly need listed for you in the condo. We used the grocery store rewards card that she had for us and saved a bunch of money.

I would definitely recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle to get to the condo as the switchbacks can get a little icy on the way up and down if you're not used to the weather.

All in all, a wonderful stay and I can't wait for our next trip!

Beautiful views and good value

  • 5 of 5

Sue was very responsive and wonderful to work with. The rate was competitive. The condition of the condo was very good and the views were amazing. A lot of condos feel like a dark tunnel to me, but this condo was very light and spacious. The beds were comfortable and the living space plenty adequate for our family of 6. We visited the first week of March and the condo complex was very quiet- a good night's rest after a day of skiing.

Bright and airy

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful, clean and comfortable. Love all the fans in the rooms, although they weren't needed because it was pretty cool during our stay. Quiet complex, good hiking within walking distance. Owner is very nice and responsive. Already made plans to return for longer.
