Paula was great. Answered questions promptly .
Close to the lake..had all that we needed in the house. Loved the loft!had women from age 23 to 63 staying for a sister trip weekend and the property was just what we needed. Thanks to Paula for helping me through my first VRBO experience!
We could have used a bit more space.
There was no wi-fi, but I didn’t ask either. Very few TV channels. Had a great time out and about in the town!!! Totally enjoyed the Terry Redlin museum, shopping downtown, Goss Opera House, and many other places!
Thank you for your comments. The cabin is rented more often in the summertime, and with the ability to go out into the lake and picnic areas, it seems less crowded! Hopefully, the fireplace made a cozy living room for your stay. We also like the Redlin Art Museum. We are glad that the weather was decent for your stay. Some winters, the weather makes it more difficult to travel.
Great home base
We met up with friends for the New Year's weekend. The weather was subzero so the gas fireplace was lovely. The kitchen was roomy but the floor was cold. That must be the old part of the home without a basement. So we wore shoes in that room. I loved the loft and think it'd be great for a family with small children. We didn't do much outside other than check out the Terry Redlin art center which was very informative. We did some beer tasting at Watertown Brewing company and wine tasting at Ghost Town winery. Overall, it was a great weekend. The house could use a little TLC with new paint but everything else was good- looked like the walk in shower was a newer and hot water wasn't a problem. I would love to come back in warmer weather.
Thank you for your comments. We try to keep the home in good repair. The walls get a little scuffed when guests rub against them. We touch up paint in the spring every year, with our spring carpet cleaning. The COLD weather the week of your visit (minus 15 degrees) made it difficult to keep ANYTHING warm! I am glad that the home heater was doing its job! It sounds like you enjoyed the areas attractions. We , too, like the Redlin art center, and Watertown has some new Brew pubs, and restaurants. We hope that you can return again to Kampeska rental.
Very nice, casual and comfortable.
Our family of six grand children, and eight adults had a lovely time at this home. It is lake side property, and the children spent all of the time they possibly could in the water. The water was clean and a nice temperature. They played for hours, and were very entertained. It was enjoyed by all of our family, and we will plan on another outing next summer at the same place. Thanks much. Sincerely, Pat and LeRoy Christofferson.
Thank you for your kind remarks. Although we cannot guarantee the weather or water temperature, Lake Kampeska has been known for its water sports/ activities. Often, water skiers skim by and are very entertaining. We are glad that you had a good stay, and hope that you can return again!
We never could get the fire pit to light and/or stay lit. Otherwise everything was great.
Thank you for your comment. If we had known about the fire pit while you were still there, we could have done some trouble-shooting, and fixed or replaced it. It is difficult to light when there is wind.... it is kind of like an open BBQ!! We hope that you can stay again in the future.
The only thing that could have maid it better is WiFi.
Thank you for your comments. We are thinking about WiFi, and will update the web site if we add it.
Lake Kampeska is noted for its recreational activities. Jet ski rental available in Watertown. Canoes can also be rented in Watertown. Terry Redlin Art Center in Watertown is worth the visit.
