About Maureen Betz

We moved from Ohio to Littleton, Co 24 years ago & bought our 1st place in Grand Lake 20 years ago. We have 3 boys: twins that are in their 20's & a teenager. When they were younger they loved to go to the cabin & catch frogs, butterflies, grasshoppers, play on the swingset, enjoy the wildflower or just hang out on one of the big rocks to have a picnic.

Maureen Betz purchased this cabin in 2000

Why Maureen Betz chose Rocky Mountain National Park

We love the quiet town of Grand Lake we enjoy boating on the 3 large lakes & hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park. We often have picnics by one of the lakes & our boys love to just hang outside & see the wildlife.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We came with very high expectations & have not been disappointed! Gorgeous cabin in a stunning location - I dont think we have ever been anywhere so relaxing. We went hiking, mountain biking, rented a boat on Grand Lake & went go-karting. Our teenagers liked the ping pong & x-box. We would come back again anytime!

Review from Bjelkevig

  • 5 of 5

Hi Maureen. The cabin and the location were great. All amenities were very good. It was quiet and very relaxing and the weather cooperated each day until about 3PM. Also a great view!!

A couple things that may help folks:

1. The directions for using the TV and video equipment was dated (Direct TV and I think you have DISH now) and did not give the correct instructions. Please review the instructions. We figured it out.

2. After the hot tub was drained and refilled on Monday at noon the water temperature was only at 99 degrees the next evening. The hot tub guy said it was set at 101 degrees and that was fine but it never was above 99. For us 102 is preferable but I understand you can't satisfy all the people all the time.

We would definitely book your cabin again. Have a great summer!!

Rich & Tess

Owner's Response: Glad you thought the cabin and the location were great, all amenities were very good and found it quiet and very relaxing!! I do apologize that the hot tub did not get hot enough for you - I think it was getting tired after so many years. Good news - we just installed a NEW HOT TUB last week!! We did just change satellite companies & I am going to the cabin this Saturday to update the instructions/details. Hope to see you back again very soon!! Maureen

The BEST we have every experienced!!!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment you drive up the long driveway you will feel the seclusion then you turn around & see that VIEW!! Mountains & lakes galore! Close to town & RMNP. Brand new hot tub was enjoyed by all!! Loved the ping pong & shuffleboard & the kids loved the bonus toy room off the loft. Beds were very comfy! Kitchen had everything! We will be back & highly recommend!!

Perfect Family Vacation

  • 5 of 5

The stakes were high for us for this family trip. We were celebrating my daughter's graduation from college and my son's graduation from high school. It's unclear how many more times it will be easy for our entire family to get together, so I wanted this trip to be special. We found a the 7 Acre Wood cabin to be very special and perfect for our family. We wanted to get away from it all, but still have activities at our fingertips. The cabin is private but practically in the backyard of Rocky Mountain National Park. It is so well appointed you will want for nothing. I've never seen a kitchen more well stocked than this one. It had EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. We enjoyed so many things about this place: the hot tub, ping pong, fire pit, watching for Elk at sunset, and just hanging out together in the family room. Highly recommend.

Great place to vacation with the kids

  • 5 of 5

This property was amazing! We had a great time. We stayed for two weeks with our two young children (1 & 3). They had everything we needed, highchair, pack-n-play, sippy cups, toys, books, etc. for the kids whcih made things easy. Elk, deer and moose were on the property daily which was great. The area was beautiful, Trail Ridge Road was not open yet while we were there but we hiked all the trails on the Grand Lake side of the park which was plenty for us. I would recommmned anyone to stay here.

We saw Moose!!! Love the 7 Acre Woods

  • 5 of 5

This rental was everything we wanted for our relaxing trip in the mountains. Location was in private environment with beautiful view of lake and mountains. This time of year is somewhat between seasons so we found most attractions closed. We were too early to rent a boat on the lake, too late in the season to tube down a mountain, rent a snowmobile, or dog sled. However, Winterpark Ski village was still going strong.

What we thoroughly enjoyed was a hike to Adam's falls, horseback riding at Saguaro stables, a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park(saw moose), touring the shops in downtown Grand Lake, Jumpstart coffee shop(beats Starbucks by far), and just chilling at the house(saw moose most days from the balcony) playing shuffleboard and card games. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was perfectly stocked with appliances, cookware, and utensils to prepare the best meals. House was very clean and well maintained.

We absolutely loved our stay. A few things that could be better... Fireplace did not work, the horseshoe pit has been removed, ping pong table missing one wheel and propped up, and the hot tub is not in a great location with all jets not working. None of these things bothered us and we know it would have been fixed if we asked. We didn't ask.

Communication with owner was fantastic. Received all information needed. Easy in and out.

Owner's Response: Hi Scot - so glad the cabin was everything you wanted to relax & enjoy the area including the mountain, lake views with daily moose visits! The fireplace is now fixed (a previous guest had shut off the valve) & we have a hot tub on order & its will be put in as soon as it arrives in a few weeks, the horse shoe pit had to be shut down last fall but will be moved to a better location at the end of this month. Thanks for your great review & hope you can come back again very soon!
