Even Better 2nd Time Around...

  • 5 of 5

Years after our first trip to Seabrook, we decided to return and booked the same house as the last time. It has since been updated and Seabrook itself is just as lovely, if not better than before! Kathy is a lovely person to rent from-- she made sure we knew our resources were as far as attractions/activities/local happenings for our stay! The weather was perfection the entire week and we definitely plan to continue booking with Kathy and bringing our friends along so they can fall in love with Seabrook the way we did!

Home is exactly as described

  • 4 of 5

This home was everything it is advertised to be. Space was large and comfortable. Having the washer/dryer and the bikes and beach chairs on site is a definite plus for this property. Even with a pool virtually outside our door, it was always quiet and relaxing. The beach is a very manageable walk, and was one of the best beaches I've ever been at. Grocery shopping nearby and local and near-by restaurants mean you would not have to drive more than five miles at any time during the length of your stay. CRAVE (restaurant/deli just outside Seabrook) is well worth the trip - unbelievable variety of food/desserts.

Awesome SC island retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We just loved this villa! What a perfect place to stay! All age groups enjoyed it including 70 year old grandparents, 40 something parents (us!), and two college aged boys. The villa was spread out enough for privacy, but roomy enough for us all to enjoy the family room and dining area together. The pool was right outside the villa so it could not have been more convenient! The bikes were a lot of fun, and such a treat since we don't have them at home. It is a great area for riding with wide flat streets and very little traffic.

The beaches on Seabrook are the best I have been to in the U.S. They are just perfect! Wide, flat beaches with very few shells, and nice warm, water (even in early June) with calm waves and an even ocean floor to wade out on. I understand that many people find sand dollars and starfish, and although we did not, we did find a couple of little conches. I would say the only drawback to the beaches is the long walk down the boardwalk followed by a short trek over the dunes. By experience, however, we determined that the best option is to drive over to the boardwalk down on Oyster Catcher near the POA owners community center, and park in the cement area on the side of the road. Do not park in the parking lot since it is just for owners. There are port a potties about halfway down the boardwalk, and a dog walking area on the beach to the left. Otherwise, the beach is awesome with very few people and lots of room!

There are lots of great restaurants nearby, and Kathy is great with her list of which ones to try! We loved Red's Icehouse and Rosebank Farms Cafe!

Between the beach, bike riding, the pool and nearby restaurants there is really no reason to leave the island! But, if you love Charleston like I do, there is a destination with charm enough to draw you away from the magic of Seabrook! Take a day trip, or two, to Charleston to enjoy the history and charm of this quaint and beautiful place which I rank at the top of my list of favorite places in the world!! The historic homes in Charleston are just beautiful, and in the spring and summer are enhanced by all the plants which grow and bloom in every courtyard, and window box, and over many a trellised garden and gate! The best ways to enjoy this town are on foot, or by horse-drawn carriage with camera in hand!

All in all a fantastic area to visit, with fun and beauty all around, great ocean breezes and sunsets, easily accessible from Sealoft Villa! Thanks Kathy!!

Amazing memories made in Seabrook...

  • 5 of 5

This review is long overdue as we rented this villa in the summertime but the memories of our stay still stays with us even today...

My husband and I decided to rent this lovely villa to get away from our busy lives in New York City.

We took with us our 3 best friends. This vacation brought us even closer than before. Every morning we woke up bright and early and filled our day with things to do in the area. The beach is a nice walk away and many mornings were spent there either in the water, playing on the sands, laying around reading, and taking in the relaxing view of the entire beach. We never saw more than 5 other people at a time on the entire beach so we were never worried about being bothered by others. Many times we saw dolphin pods! We liked how helpful Kathy was with leaving a list/guide to the area so it was very easy to find a place to eat. Often times we ate at the villa because we bought a grill (which we have left behind for future guests to use) and purchased our groceries and food needs at Fresh Fields.

Activities we enjoyed include (but were not limited to): kayaking in Bohicket Marina, swimming, walking, crab-fishing, driving to Charleston, a trip to Angel Oak, going to plantations, bike riding around the villa community, picnics, out-door grilling, etc.

I must add that the house is pretty much "what you see is what you get." It is tidy and comfortable. There is a deck outside room with the twin beds which overlooks the pool and rest of the villa community. This was a great spot to sit around and have conversations underneath the stars. It was my first time seeing shooting stars and there were plenty to see in the beautiful night sky.

I would definitely recommend a stay here for people who are looking to get closer--whether it's for romance, bonding with friends, or a good old fashioned family vacation--a stay in this villa will only make your stay at Seabrook Island a comfortable and memorable one.
