Feel at home when you walk through the front door of this cozy, clean mountain bungalow. No steps! All on one level. An expanse of light-filled windows leads your eye through a roomy living area to the beautiful view of the Grandfather Mountain range. This is just the place for a weekend get-away; a winter skiing, ice skating or snow tubing trip (5 minutes away from Hawksnest Tubing); or an extended summer stay to enjoy the North Carolina’s High Country’s cool mountain breezes, fishing, golfing, hiking, tennis and for the more adventurous zipline, tubing, rafting and cycling. Don’t forget the fall. See the magnificent views of the fall foliage from a bird’s eye view and enjoy all the local autumn festivals and music. Rest and relax in the secluded hot tub with a magnificent view on the deck.
You will love the bright openness of the large living room, dining area and inviting, fully equipped kitchen with new appliances. There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout the house with ceramic tile floors in the roomy bathrooms. For your convenience our home is locally managed. Enjoy and welcome home!
We are retired, enjoy traveling with our two dogs and always love our stay at the Berg Haus - grilling on the deck.
The Owner purchased this bungalow in 2007
Hurricane Katrina destroyed our vacation home on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. The mountains are a welcome change to avoid hurricanes and enjoy cooler summer weather and actually see winter snow.
Great mountain view, wonderful seasonal weather, peaceful, secluded, enjoy seeing local wildlife, near cultural events.
My husband unlocked the door and said "Wow"! The awesome mountain view is the first thing you see. The home looks exactly like the photographs and is remarkably equipped. You need nothing except your own food and beverage. The Berg Haus is very comfortably decorated and welcoming. Our visit was beautiful, but much too short! There was constant entertainment from the birds at the birdfeeder and the chipmunks stuffing their cheeks full of seed! The home is kept very clean and neat. Just minutes from amazing Zip Lining at Hawk's Nest and a short drive to Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. The steep roads makes a great morning workout to start your day! We will be back and are telling everyone we know how great it is.
Our stay was so enjoyable. Everything that was needed was here, especially the well-equipped kitchen. The view, well what can I say! These mountains really speak to you. We enjoyed a wonderful lightening show on the horizon. The birds and raccoons paid us a visit almost every day and night. It is so relaxing to get away from the city for a few days. Wished we could have stayed forever! We will return in the future.
What a peaceful retreat! Everything spotless. Kitchen well stocked. But the two best features are the view from he deck and the fact there are no steps to climb with suitcases and groceries. As close to being at home in a vacation rental you will ever find!
