Ucluelet House Rental Photos and Description

House, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 1.5 Baths, (Sleeps 4-5)

Beachwood, is one half of a side by side duplex. It offers a reverse plan with two spacious bedrooms & full bath downstairs (you can walk out to the back yard from the master bedroom). The main floor features the living room, dining, kitchen and half bath, with inlet views from every room. There is also a large loft above the living room. The house has been rebuilt and remodeled in 2010. It has most modern conveniences including a dishwasher and microwave in the kitchen, a flat screen HD television in the living room, heated tile floors in the main bathroom, and several skylights.

Beachwood has striking views of Ucluelet Inlet and Kvarno Island from most rooms (even the bathroom while you're relaxing in the super-deep tub). The bird watching is incredible as the waterfront is a nature preserve. Tons of herons, eagles, osprey, kingfishers, hummingbirds, swans, etc. We often also see seals, sea lions, bears, and salmon in or near the water.

Beachwood is located on the waterfront of Ucluelet Inlet between the town of Ucluelet and Pacific Rim National Park. We are two minutes from the Wild Pacific Trail, 5 minutes from the town of Ucluelet, 10 minutes from Wickanninish Beach and Interpretive Centre and 25 minutes from Tofino.

Make Beachwood your home while you are exploring the West Coast, Pacific Rim National Park and the towns of Tofino and Ucluelet. Whether you are coming to hike, surf, beachcomb, bird watch, whale watch, storm watch or simply to relax...you won't be disappointed.

Why The Owner chose Vancouver Island

We fell in love with the West Coast of Vancouver Island in the 90's when we first started coming out to surf and camp. We are addicted to the miles of beaches to explore, the countless waves to ride and the amazing wildlife. We chose to buy here because it is private, quiet, close to town -but not in town and close to the beaches of Pacific Rim National Park.

What makes this house unique

Shortly after we bought the property we began planning a renovation. At that time it was a couple steps up from camping in the luxury department as it was a very old house. In the last 4 years we have rebuilt the home. Now as soon as you enter Beachwood you will be amazed by the jaw dropping view of Ucluelet Inlet and Kvarno Island. The house has hardwood oak floors throughout. We reused much of the old materials in features of the new home. For example, the wood cladding the fireplace is some of the old siding. The decore reflects elements of the West Coast with a sleek modern feel. Artists, designers and nature lovers will fall in love with this amazing place.

Other benefits: The home is family owned. The suites are side by side and are completely private-separate entrnces, driveways, decks etc. The other side of the duplex is owned by my parents. It's a great place for family gatherings. Both sides can be rented together please see vrbo 342944.

Beautiful!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved staying at this beautiful house. We spent a good portion of our stay looking out the windows with binoculars. You can watch the tide go in and out, fish jumping, many different kinds of birds.. Etc. Even though you have a neighbor right next door (shared walls) you can not see anyone! The weather didn't cooperate too much so we didn't get to spend any time outside, but the deck was set up very nicely. There wasn't anything we wished we had while staying here.. Everything was provided included a play pen for our daughter. The play pen was frustrating to set up (old, maybe?) but once we got it it was fine. It wasn't too baby friendly if you have a crawling or walking baby- there are no gates for the stairs and some of the furniture wasn't ideal (metal legs). But we managed and our daughter came out with no injuries! The bed was comfy and had a great view! It was clean and well kept... You may have to squish a few spiders though (which should be expected with a location like this).

It was a few minute drive into Ucluelet and about a 20 minute drive to Tofino. It was nice to be away from any towns.. It was very peaceful.

We would definitely stay again!

A Great Place to Stay !!

  • 5 of 5

We spent a glorious week at this wonderful home - spacious and very modern. The balcony has a wonderful view of the bay. On two separate days, a young deer came into the backyard to nibble on leaves at the end of the property. We also got to watch many visits from a heron and some kingfishers to the shore line below us. The patio balcony was an excellent place to eat breakfast while we watched the day unfold. The location of this home is also perfect - just a few kms north of Ucluelet proper - made visits to Ucluelet, Tofino, and Pacific Rim Park very easy, and there was plenty to explore. Joanna was very helpful in providing pages of things to do and places to go - which is really helpful, especially for first time visitors to the area. A wonderful vacation and we can't wait to go back.

Best vacation ever!!!

  • 5 of 5

A little piece of west coast heaven!

We went surfing, paddleboarding, and had campfires on the beach. The house is so peaceful and the view is breathtaking. We have been to this property a few times with our 3 children and always leave feeling relaxed and refreshed. The kitchen has everything you could need and the beds are the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in! On top of all of that, the owners are super helpful and responsive to any questions. We will definitely be back!

Wonderful property, our favorite family vacation.

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in Ucluelet, the home was beautiful, clean, and very well stocked with essentials. After long days of hiking and surfing it was nice to come back to a cozy house. We enjoyed quiet evenings sitting on the deck, watching the birds and bears, and BBQing fresh Salmon. The views from every room were spectacular and Joanna provided ample information about local restaurants, trails, and shops. The drive to town was short, so shopping and eating out were both convenient. Whale watching tours, kayaking, surfing, fishing, and hiking were all conveniently located in the town. We especially enjoyed the trail to Half Moon Beach; it was a great evening walk through the rain forest to a secluded beach and the trail head was only a couple of minutes away. This was the perfect place for unwinding and enjoying family time. Thanks Joanna, we will definitely be back.

Perfect, just perfect!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed at the house for 10 days and it was just amazing. The pics don't do it justice at all, we spent so much time out on the deck, even with blankets in the evening when it was cold, just because it was so beautiful. We had action packed days, every day; so it was great to come back to a lovely place to relax with huge comfy beds, all the home comforts you could possibly need, some lovely little touches and Joanna was so helpful both before and during our stay.

It was our first trip to Canada and I didn't want to leave, ever!!! It's a great location, just out of Ucluelet, ideal for hiking the Wild Pacific Trail (which is a must, take the time to walk into/home from town), handy for the highway if you're heading across the island and an easy distance from both Uclulent and Tofino. The house couldn't have been better!

We only had a car for a couple of days but managed to get by.

Thanks so much to Joanna and the lovely Cara who also helped us out while we were there. Will definitely be back one day.
