Right in town, with serene lakeside location. Great spot for nature lovers and birdwatchers. The lake has a pair of nesting loons; you can see the loon chick snuggled on the back of the adult loon in the springtime, along with ducks, moose, and the occasional eagle. The lake has a beach with a lifeguard in the summertime, and skating in the winter. The beach is located a 2 minute walk away; there is nothing but serenity in front of the house. Winter brings ice skating and cross country skiing, and of course, dogsledding! Owners are professionals, have a dog team (offsite) and you can learn more about Alaska's official state sport of dogmushing firsthand. Enjoy the deck in sunny weather, with lovely lakeside views. Sorry, we cannot accept children under 6 years old, due to decks and stairway hazards.

This is the premier spot in Anchorage, quiet and beautiful, but walking distance to Providence Hospital, the University, and close to everything!
The serentiy and beauty of waking up on the lake. Walking or biking the trail system, right from the house.
I recently attended a medical conference in Anchorage, but I did not want to pass up a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a family vacation to Alaska. I certainly did not want to stay in a hotel. I rented Goose Lake Lodge for myself, my wife, my 2 year old daughter, my father and my uncle. We stayed for a week. We had quick access to downtown Anchorage for my work duties, but we easily able to get out of town for site seeing adventures. The house was great and the owner was very accommodating. The views are exceptional, to have such a great mountain/lake view from inside the city limits was wonderful. This is a definite must if you have a large crew staying in Anchorage.
We recently stayed here on a family trip that celebrated her 60th birthday, and we were so pleased when we found this house. It is conveniently located to downtown Anchorage with easy access to all the major highways - but it was tucked away in a quiet peaceful setting. The house was well-appointed with everything you needed, it was spacious and airy, clean and well taken care of. The owner Susan was very accommodating, and a pleasure to work with! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would be quick to recommend it to others!
What a treat to arrive at this beautiful home at 6.00am after 25 flying hours from Australia to be welcomed by a beautiful smiley, vivacious Susan who was in the process of cooking breakfast for us. Different breakfast every day were to 'die for' and her generosity of time to us so we could plan our Alaskan adventures was beyond our expectations. The house and the setting on Goose Lake is absolutely gorgeous, with different areas to relax/read/drink a glass of wine in. You would have no idea you are 5/10 minutes away from Anchorage. Our 3 night experience with Susan is etched in our memory. She is fantastic. Would we recommend this B&B??? Absolutely.

We were going to Alaska for a family wedding. With 4 couples we decided to look for a VRBO which we had not done before. Well we hit the bull's-eye the 1st time. This was right in Anchorage, on the water, the rooms were perfect and we never felt like we were tripping over each other. The different floors help keep things a bit separated, the kitchen was perfect, we really could not have asked for a better experience.
Absolutely beautiful home. Owner was such a dream to work with. The home was located in a beautiful area, easily accessible, very clean, well laid out for all of us-many different couples. We would highly recommend it!
I have used VRBO many times and this was the first where the pictures weren't over stated. The house is fabulous, a perfect mix of feeling remote while you're in town, and the rooms and amenities were well appointed. Susan was a delight - and a great cook! She is knowledgeable about the area, worked around our schedule, and has great stories to tell. I would highly recommend this VRBO and would welcome the chance to visit again.
