Looking for a uniquely wonderful vacation that offers miles of an almost deserted beach, the ultimate in fishing, and lots of privacy, quiet times, and a glimpse of yesterday's Florida? Gasparilla Villa offers this and more. You have found a true island paradise for beach goers and fisherman alike. Your family and friends will never forget this wonderful experience.

Gasparilla Villa is tucked into mangroves and palms on the bay side of a quiet bridgeless barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico next to Boca Grande.

The Boca Grande area is world famous for its quality fishing and hosts one of the finest backwater flats in Florida. With a choice of bay fishing, surf and deep sea fishing, almost anything goes. Try your fishing skills on tarpon, snook, redfish, mullet, mackerel, red snapper and grouper. Gasparilla Villa has its own private dock, a newly expanded deck and covered fish cleaning table and lots of freezer space. Leave your fishing gear on the boat.

For the beach comber, there are miles and miles of almost deserted pristine beach with no condos, stores or gift shops. Abundant shells await with swimming and shore birds only a three minute walk away. At sunset, it is an island tradition to always be on the beach with your favorite beverage to watch the dramatic show and try to spot the elusive green flash.

Snorkel, kayak, canoe or sail in the waters that surround the island. Rent a golf cart and explore the miles of nature trails and roads. There is even a local captain that will give you and your guests a scenic tour. There are several excellent restaurants available by water taxi or your own boat for some of the finest seafood on the Gulf Coast. Numerous golf courses surround the area on the mainland.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by your personal island mate who will acquaint you with the Villa and the Island. Your island mate will be available all week to meet your needs.

A water taxi is available for transportation is you do not own a boat.

We hope to make your stay at our home as pleasant as can be. We live in Gainesville, Fl. We have been married since 1978 and our love in life is enjoying life. We are both graduates of the University of Florida with degrees in Forestry. We have two sons who we adore deeply and are so proud of. One is a graduate of the University of North Florida and one is a graduate of the University of Florida

Jib and Teresa Davidson purchased this house in 2003

Why Jib and Teresa Davidson chose Florida South Central Gulf Coast

Teresa has been coming to Little Gasparilla Island since she was 14 years old. Her parents bought their house, which is right next to Gasparilla Villa in 1968.

What makes this house unique

Little Gasparilla Island is a part of Florida most folks do not to experience. If you like shopping malls and restaurants and lots of tourist activities, this is not the place for you. If you like to fish, enjoy swimming, shelling and sun bathing with little to no folks on the beach, then this is the place for you. We look forward to hosting you and your family.

Great location! Private dock and only a couple of minutes from the beach.

  • 4 of 5

Our family had a great time here. There are two bedrooms/two bathrooms upstairs, and a bathroom in the screened in downstairs patio. We also used the one bedroom cottage out back that is detached. One of the benefits to this place is that you do not need to bring anything except food, and bathing suites. They have lots of beach toys to choose from including beach chairs, umbrella's, paddle boards, and kayaks. There is an entire closet of board games. The kitchen is stocked with all of the utensils that you will need, and some that you won't. They provide lots of fans as well which is very nice in Florida. We had lots of Manatee's and dolphins come up to the dock. We caught some trout off of the dock. LGI carts met us at the house with our golf cart which is a must have for the island. All in all we would stay here again. The only thing that I would change would be different chairs in the living room, but who goes to an island to set in a living room anyway.

Paradise

This is the place to really get away. So relaxing. Loved the dock on the bay side, great for fishing and made it so easy to set out in the kayaks or canoe. Everything was just as described and our hosts were incredible!

Great family getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay! The property is tucked away on the North end of the island. Very quiet. There is a no wake zone for about 1/4 mile and boats don't come through there unless they live there. Felt very safe for my 8 & 10 year old kids to paddle board and kayak all around. They also enjoyed exploring outside and the beach is just a short 3-5 minute walk. The property had all amenities that we needed. Just a wonderfully relaxing week!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review and reminding everyone of the no wake zone, there are indeed very few boats that go by and if so, they are slow. Teresa

This house was the perfect beach getaway!! It is comfortable, clean, and convenient with the dock right behind it. The owners are very quick to respond to any requests. We would definitely rent it again.

Great place for relaxing

  • 5 of 5

This place gave us a wonderful 5 days of family vacation. I had 4 young adults (18-21) with my husband and me at some point during our time, and they all had a great vacation. There are plenty of water toys to use- kayaks, paddle boards, boogie boards. If you choose not to get a golf cart (highly recommended if you have older kids), the beach is a two minute walk from the house. Jib and Teresa stock the house full of towels- no need to pack these, and other beach paraphernalia-umbrellas, floats, chairs. The kitchen has everything you need. There is one tv, but it was rarely even used.

We lost electricity one day, but with all the board games and the beach so close, we still found ways to entertain ourselves. A bonus was the on-island gift store right next door to the house. Bobbi, the store owner is a great source of information and an artist that has adorable, whimsical artwork.

The only downside were the mosquitoes. This was not the fault of the owners, but I would highly recommend a good mosquito spray. It will make the walking to the beach through the mangroves much more pleasant.

Thank you to Jennifer, our island mate, for making sure we were all comfortable.
