Looking for a uniquely wonderful vacation that offers miles of an almost deserted beach, the ultimate in fishing, and lots of privacy, quiet times, and a glimpse of yesterday's Florida? Gasparilla Villa offers this and more. You have found a true island paradise for beach goers and fisherman alike. Your family and friends will never forget this wonderful experience.

Gasparilla Villa is tucked into mangroves and palms on the bay side of a quiet bridgeless barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico next to Boca Grande.

The Boca Grande area is world famous for its quality fishing and hosts one of the finest backwater flats in Florida. With a choice of bay fishing, surf and deep sea fishing, almost anything goes. Try your fishing skills on tarpon, snook, redfish, mullet, mackerel, red snapper and grouper. Gasparilla Villa has its own private dock, a newly expanded deck and covered fish cleaning table and lots of freezer space. Leave your fishing gear on the boat.

For the beach comber, there are miles and miles of almost deserted pristine beach with no condos, stores or gift shops. Abundant shells await with swimming and shore birds only a three minute walk away. At sunset, it is an island tradition to always be on the beach with your favorite beverage to watch the dramatic show and try to spot the elusive green flash.

Snorkel, kayak, canoe or sail in the waters that surround the island. Rent a golf cart and explore the miles of nature trails and roads. There is even a local captain that will give you and your guests a scenic tour. There are several excellent restaurants available by water taxi or your own boat for some of the finest seafood on the Gulf Coast. Numerous golf courses surround the area on the mainland.

Upon your arrival you will be greeted by your personal island mate who will acquaint you with the Villa and the Island. Your island mate will be available all week to meet your needs.

A water taxi is available for transportation is you do not own a boat.

Jib and Teresa Davidson purchased this house in 2003

Why Jib and Teresa Davidson chose Placida

Teresa has been coming to Little Gasparilla Island since she was 14 years old. Her parents bought their house, which is right next to Gasparilla Villa in 1968.

What makes this house unique

Little Gasparilla Island is a part of Florida most folks do not to experience. If you like shopping malls and restaurants and lots of tourist activities, this is not the place for you. If you like to fish, enjoy swimming, shelling and sun bathing with little to no folks on the beach, then this is the place for you. We look forward to hosting you and your family.

Peaceful!

  • 5 of 5

We loved this house and we were very comfortable. It has everything you need for a great vacation. Lots of towels for both beach and bath that are in great condition and not worn out. Lots of beach supplies and games for the house too. Beds and pillows were fine - not broken down. We went to the beach everyday and rented a golf cart to check out the rest of the island. You don’t need a golf cart for more than a few hours really. It was perfect!

Loved staying at this property!!!

  • 5 of 5

This was our first experience staying on LGI... and we will definitely be back! We took the Pirates Water Taxi boat across, and Evan was awesome... right on time, helped get us loaded and unloaded on the boat, and answered questions about the fishing around the island. Jennifer, our island mate, was fantastic to work with!!! We communicated through text and phone, and she was very quick to answer any questions. She met us at the dock and showed us where everything was, and made sure we had everything we needed. Special thanks to Charles, for saving my mornings... the coffee was very much appreciated!!

The house and cottage worked perfectly for our group of 5. There were tons of towels, more than enough dishes for all of us, and plenty of space for everyone to kick back and enjoy. There are 2 table setups at the dock, and we took advantage of both!! The house was clean clean clean when we got there... not a speck of dust or sand anywhere in the house! Basic things like TP, dish soap, trash bags, and laundry detergent were supplied. The showers were even set up with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! There were 2 fridges so we had plenty of room to store everything we brought with us.

The walk to the Gulf coast is no more than a couple of minutes, and the shell collecting was great. We walked up to Don Pedro State Park, and spent half a day there. We also rented a cart from LGI Golf carts for a day, to check out the rest of the island.

The only thing we regret was not getting visitor licenses and doing some fishing! We took the kayaks and canoe out, and the fish were almost jumping into the kayaks with us! Sitting on the dock and watching the fish do "triple skips" across the water was awesome. Some of the fish must have been 10 pounders!!!!

Some of us got to see dolphins while out in the kayaks, and some of us got to see a whale breaching in the Gulf... both are memories we will always treasure.

There is a cute little gift shop just beyond the house... make sure you stop in and see what is available!!

All in all, this is a great place to stay. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to unplug and get away.... great place for families, couples, or a group of friends to spend some peaceful, quiet time together and enjoy the serenity of the island. We look forward to going back to visit again!!!

Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

We have been coming here for 14 years this is the best spot on the island! The fishing is great right from the dock. Nice filet station with running water. Easy walk to the gulf. Wonderful kayaks and paddle boards included with house. Explore the mangroves on either. Great upgrades this year all new linens, dishes , sliding door and floors. The island mate Jennifer is attentive and friendly. If you are looking for island life and good fishing it’s the best!!!
