Area: Maggie Valley, North Carolina. Located 30 minutes West of Asheville. Just off the Blue Ridge Parkway near the entrance to the Cherokee Indian Reservation.
My husband and I first visited Cherokee on our honeymoon in 1992 on a spontaneous drive north from Florida. We found Maggie Valley and this property by chance as we drove out of the Indian Reservation. We spent the first few years camping in tents on the property with our son and daughter while enjoying hiking and the area attractions. We built this beautiful log home a few years later and have many years of fond memories with our son, daughter, and each of our parents. There is so much to see and explore. We hope you enjoy it and make as many great memories as we have over the years.
Guest Book Comments:
08/15 - We got to seethe "neighborhood elk" walking up the driveway! By far one of the best cabins we've rented with a beautiful view! Enjoyed the pontoon boat rental in Bryson City and horse back riding in Clyde. "The mountains shall bring peace to the people...."
08/15 - We especially enjoyed our mountain view and had the opportunity to take family portraits with a picture perfect background. The house was beautiful and allowed a peaceful experience.
10/15 - Great stay with some great friends. Views are amazing and there was plenty to do. One of the best cabins for sure. I was able to keep my "ping pong belt" alive and beat everybody in the house!
10/15 - Stunning view and perfect amenities!
11/15 - Awesome view! Had a blast in the game room! Haven't played ping pong in years! Had a fantastic weekend.

06/08 - What a beautiful place you have here. We spent the week hiking, biking, and swimming. We definitely will be back again as we hate to leave this beautiful view!
07/08 - The house is in a perfect location as close to everything. Valley fudge was good and the fireworks were fantastic!
07/08 - Being here brought back wonderful childhood memories. This house has such a restful atmosphere. After spending the days exploring, the family enjoyed being together. The view was the best part!
08/08 - We need to be here longer! The week went by too fast...with full days at Ghost Town, hiking Chimney Rock, and the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad! Time seems to come to a stop here. We loved the remoteness of this mountain retreat!
10/09 - The fog hanging over the valley in the mornings with the mountain tops showing through was picturesque! The leaves on the trees progressively changed and fell each day. We have not all been together for 33 years so the conversation flowed! Great time!
07/10 - This has been one of the most relaxing and enjoyable weeks ever! We enjoyed everything from the shops in Cherokee to wading in the river with our grandchildren!
12/10 - W had a great time skiing, tubing, and sliding up and down the mountain!
06/12 - We had a wonderful time at Sliding Rock and trout fishing! The game room was fun too!

06/15 - Loved our first trip to the mountains as a family!
06/15 - Opened all the windows and the breeze just rolled through!
A home away from home would be an understatement for this place. The first thing you notice when you walk through the door is the aroma of fresh log cabbin wood. I have stayed here two times once in the snow and once in the fall before the snow. Both times were overwhelmingly relaxing and fun. The view is so unbelievable we ended up staying in the cabbin most nights to enjoy a home cooked meal and one of the best views in town. Planning bringing the entire family for a reunion next visit!
View was amazing. The house was NOT well maintained. Would not recommend to friends or other relatives. The area is a great place to stay, lots of outdoor activities.
The perfect get away for a family retreat! The views are amazing and the home was well equipped. You can enjoy the many outdoor activities or relax and sit on the porch swing. This was the best vacation our family has taken in a long time!
