Why Becky 256-759-9901 chose Alabama

We designed and built both of our lake houses with our large Family in mind. We are delighted to share them with you and your group. You will surely find how wonderfully accommodating these floor plans can be especially for large groups of familiar or unfamiliar people. Although the yard is fairly level, If you have step issues, remember you can drive your vehicle from the front door to the waters edge.

What makes this house unique

TV's in every room with Direct TV and Internet. This location is marvelous. Wyeth is a coveted area of Lake Guntersville. Homes in this neighborhood are top of the market with mostly permanent residents. Yet this property is in a protected mountain cove with a boat loading ramp, dock, and natural sand bar for swimming, making it especially great for children and the paddle boats. Very nice home!

  • 5 of 5

Great house and our bass club really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of rooms and ample parking for trucks and trailers. Look forward to coming back

The home was not as nice as the pictures portray

  • 3 of 5

I've stayed in vrbo homes at least 10 times previous, and this is the first one I haven't given 5 stars. The pictures represent it in a much better light. It is very crowded with furniture and decor, and there is little room to move around each other. We stayed with my family of five, three young children. They couldn't play outside because there was poison ivy on everything-the house, the trees, all around the yard. It's not a good kitchen if you intend to cook---only 2 burners on the stove and very minimal cookware, even though vrbo houses are generally minimal-ish, this is worse than what would be expected. The lower level is really a basement, and musty, though that's expected near a lake. The layout is very congested, and the view of the water is actually at the very end of a creek, so it's reeds and grasses that you see rather than open water. There's no ladder on the dock, which makes for difficult swimming, but it's only about a couple feet deep, so swimming isn't ideal anyway. Many of the cushions and sheets/pillow cases are in rough/tattered condition. I imagine that years ago this was a very well-kept place, which has now fallen into disrepair. The house was clean, though, which is a big plus.

Early Thanksgiving stay

  • 5 of 5

We had an early Thanksgiving at this home. House was clean and in great shape. Our family loved the house and the kids had a blast in the loft upstairs. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking our Thanksgiving meal.

Best House Ever!!

  • 5 of 5

It is so beautiful!! My family spent countless hours just talking and hanging out on the porch while watching the kids play in the lake. The dock was fantastic as we had several picnics on it. The early birds got up early and sat out on the porches to drink their morning cup with dew still resting on the grass and the peace of the beautiful lake. The inside has beautiful hardwood floors and the architecture of the home was fantastic dripping with crown molding, and tile everywhere. The windows were big to better see the lake. The kitchenS are filled with needed cooking supplies. There's an island in the middle of the kitchen which made it easy for my family of 20 to maneuver around to fix plates and cook meals. There are many different places to escape and be alone but also areas perfect for gathering and talking over a glass of wine. We worked puzzles when it rained and road off into the sunset at night on the paddle boat. We actually played a football game on the sand bar and caught a ton of blue gill. After the kids went to bed the adults sat out on the dock late into the evening with the crickets and frogs chirping with our conversations. It was so peaceful. After the sun would go down, we'd make a fire in the fire pit to make smores and swing on the swings. We have come several times already and will come back again. I really don't want to send this review because I'm afraid it might convince someone to stay at my favorite spot and the dates I want may not be available next time. Becky and Larry are amazing at helping out with anything you need, and I really do highly recommend this place.

5 bedroom house with a musty smell

  • 2 of 5

When we arrived at the house, it had a really bad musty smell due to a recent flood. Also, the house is really a 5 bedroom because the 6th bedroom does not have a door--not ideal for small kids who go to sleep earlier than adults. Lastly, we left some items at the house accidentally. We learned from the owners that there would be surcharges for mailing items back. Other Home Away and VRBO owners have gladly mailed back left-items at the actual shipping cost with no surcharges.

Owner's Response: PLEASE DO NOT BELIEVE THIS PERSON! THERE WAS NOT A FLOOD. The group before this Guest got a small amount of water on Sisal rug in the master bath. This bath has a beautiful tile floor and a large Sisal rug. One corner of this area rug was the only thing damp. We dried the rug completely. My housekeeper checked on it the day before her arrival and assured me it was not musty. Trying to be extra careful, I mentioned this rug to the guest before she arrived and if she found it to be a problem please call us and we would come and take the rug out. "IT IS FINE" she said and She never called back. We believe this person is just angry because she left so much stuff behind. These Guests just live 3 hours away near Atlanta. The items they left behind were quite a list. 1. one heavy 6 quart double walled stainless steel dutch oven with glass lid 2. electric crock pot, 3. king size sheet 4. large memory foam pillow 5. white throw blanket 6. medium size basket and candle 7 pink leapfrog In order to mail this list of items back I needed some commitment to pay for the packaging, postage, and insurance. i was not asking her to pay me for my hours of gathering and transporting her items. She would not agree to pay a set fee of $35. She wanted me to get a bid on the postage and then call her back and she would then decide if she wanted to pay this amount. So to save us both the trouble I offered her AND/OR anyone in her group a FREE night at the Wyeth House the VERY NEXT weekend or any weekend (a 3 hour drive) to retrieve her items. She refused. The sixth bedroom is an upstairs bunkhouse style rec-room with three beds and a private bath and a closet. There is a complete floor plan on our web page and we issue a "Wyeth House Features" document with every inquiry that further explains every bedroom and bath. Although there is no door with the bunkhouse rec-room there is complete privacy in that the opening to this room faces away from all other areas and it is at the top of a staircase with a quilted curtain that allows even more privacy. These complaints were derived from her disappointment that her items would not be mailed back free of charge. Mailing these items makes me responsible for any breakage, so I wanted to have Mail Pro package them up to include insurance. She was not willing to pay. So I am holding her items in my lost and found ready for her to pick them up anytime or call me to have them mailed.

Adorable Mega Cabin

  • 5 of 5

This home is so perfect for a cozy get away with a lot of space! It slept our WHOLE family and that's a big deal. Plus the kids were so entertained with the light house thing up stairs and we all rode the paddle boat to the sand bar just a few feet away from the dock. The kitchen had everything we needed! Oh and we stay in these homes a lot and the owners are the kindness people ever!
