This place was perfect. We wanted seclusion and that's what we got. Great views of the river.

  • 5 of 5

The property is gorgeous with huge oak trees growing up all around the house. It almost feels like you are in a tree house. There is a nice loft bedroom upstairs with a bathroom that has a porcelain tub, which I enjoyed raking a bubble bath in. There us another bedroom downstairs with a walk in shower. The water was steaming hot and I must say, I took unusually long showers. There us also a futon downstairs right in front of the wood burning stove. Needless to say, we spent a night lounging there by the fire. The kitchen is fully furnished and we used it the whole time so that we could fully enjoy our rental and spend as much of our time there. We never went out to eat, but cooked some great ribeyes on the gas grill on the back deck. Speaking of the back deck, it was huge and there is two lounge chairs, two deck chairs with a table, and a big outdoor dining room table, so the deck is big. We sat out there pretty much the whole time. We even watched a male and female mallard ducks land right in front of us on the river and swim together right in front of our cabin. Plus, one morning I listened to a turkey gobble for a few hours across the river. Huge squirrels played in the big oak trees over head. There are two kayaks and two canoes, however, we brought our river boat and explored the Suwannee River by using the boat landing a few minutes away. There is also a boat landing on the Santa Fe River, however, it was too flooded for us to put in there. Also, there are tons of springs, but again, they were all flooded so you see them for the overflow. But we still enjoyed boat riding and picnicking just the same, as we visited during February. The weather couldn't have been more perfect, ranging in the upper seventies to low fifties at night. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the place is everything you need for a glamping experience of a lifetime. Also, there is plenty of cut fire wood under the house to use in the wood burning stove and plenty of wood outside for the fire pit near the river. Oh, and there is a dock to fish off of or drive your boat and dock to. All I can say is we loved it and will definetly go back if we get the chance. The owners were very quick to respond to their emails and were very helpful in all things. So thank you again for sharing your home.

Owner's Response: Michelle, we are so happy that you had a good experience at the Suwannee cabin. Hopefully the next time, the water won't be as high and you can swim in the springs. It is so nice to have a boat, though, to explore the area. We hope you can return to the river some day soon! Thankk you for the glowing review. Robin and Scott Etter

We LOVED our stay at the Suwannee cabin!

  • 5 of 5

We LOVED our stay at the Suwannee cabin. The cabin had a peaceful, relaxing feel which made it perfect for a getaway weekend. The weather was quite chilly for most of our stay, so we were forced to spend a lot of quality time inside playing board games provided in the cabin. ( my daughter is now a champ at checkers) On our warm day, We enjoyed kayaking on the ichetucknee river. The waters are clear, and the views of the wildlife were breathtaking. To top the trip off, my boyfriend asked me to marry him on our last night!!. :) Thank you for sharing your cabin with us. I will always cherish our memory at the Suwannee cabin.

Relax in Nature

  • 5 of 5

The setting and view are pure Florida. The cabin is clean and inviting. Bathrooms and kitchen are updated, beds are comfortable. Everything we needed was there.

We visited O'leno and Ichetucknee, had lunch in High Springs and Branford, and just relaxed. The riverside fire pit is great in the evening, and we binge-watched a series on Netflix at night. This is a great spot to escape to nature and forget everyday worries, very cozy and owners were helpful and responsive.
