We spent a week here for 4th of July and it was wonderful. The house was more than we expected. The pictures do not do it justice. It was very clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you would need to cook. There were even a few spices/ salt and pepper which was nice. We made really good use of the kayaks and paddle boards. There no AC was a concern but it gets so cool at night that it was a non issue. The master bed room has a ceiling fan, we found one fan we used for upstairs. There are some puzzles, Legos, and a few other small toys my kids enjoyed playing with. Outside in addition to the swing pictured, there is a regular kid swing and a baby swing. We saw tons of little frogs and chipmunks in the yard. We made fires every night with the fire pit in the yard. The location was perfect. It's on a cove so not a lot of water traffic off the dock which was perfect my kids learning to kayak and paddle board. It was only a short ride to the wisp resort and even shorter drive to the Honi-honi. The state park is right down the road. We would definitely stay here again and recommend this house.
This was our 3rd stay at this vacation home and all we can say is excellent!
It is a beautiful place with plenty of space. Nice boat dock and easy to get to from the launch at the state park.
The house is kept very clean and although there is no air conditioning it is not a problem as there is always a nice breeze there.I have been there in July and August.
I will definitely be back is all I can say!
Close to everything. The owner is very nice to deal with and has thought of everything to make your stay the best it can be!
We had a wonderful vacation and enjoyed staying here. My boys (ages 10, 8 and 4) loved being close to the water and had a great time using the kayaks and canoe. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking all of our meals. I was apprehensive about not having air conditioning in July, but it wasn't an issue. The weather was cool and there was good air flow throughout the home.
This was our first time renting a place in this area. The house is nice and it really is great for entertaining. We have a large family with lots of small children and this place was a good fit. The owners were very nice to work with. Everything was clean and well kept. The kitchen was nicely stocked. The only thing I might caution about is that one of the 3 bedrooms on the first floor is quite small, with no window. In fact, some might call it a large closet with one twin bed in it. There are ceiling fans, but no AC, and we were there in arguably the hottest time of year, so we did have to make a run to walmart to bring in some extra fans.
The grounds were lovely, and the access to the lake was excellent.
We rented this home August 13-20, 2011 and were very impressed upon arrival. The pictures are not up-to-date on site. It is a wonderful place with lots of room for everyone! Very quiet as there is not a home on the left side when facing the front of house- just woods.
2 gaming rooms, plenty of sleeping, large flat screen now in living room, beautiful dining room extension, hot tub, patio with large SS grill and seating. They even have corn hole tournament boards which we all love to play. We brought a net for badminton and volleyball that set up nicely next to the garage.
It was in the 90's outside on the way there but upon arrival in Deep Creek the temps dropped to 80's and 50's at night. It was wonderful. No problem with outside bugs at all day or evening!! We did fire pit every night! We made use of the 2 canoes that are provided.
Within walking of Deep Creek State Park; 20 mins. to Swallow Falls (great place!) and 5 mins. or so to center of town. Good shopping, fun centers for kids of all ages.
We rented a pontoon and had a blast! Make sure you get to the rental place by 7am to get in line as they usually only allow 4 pontoons avail for 1 day rentals, if you rent for 2 days in a row they will hold for you. Next time we will take in the man-made white water rafting center and the mountain coaster at Wisp which we heard from others, while we were there, were great fun.
You will not be disappointed on this location - we truly had a fantastic vacation at a very reasonable cost to all. You can be quiet and relaxed or as busy as you choose and NEVER be bored. We had (2) 8yr olds and (2) 18yrs old and they all had a great time. We even left the video games home!!!!!
The house was great. Owners keep the place clean, and can't wait to see the finished dinning room addition! Everyone enjoyed sailing, kayaking, and canoeing in the quiet part of the lake. At the end of the day a soak in the hot tub and a game of pool or ping pong was just the thing.
The house was large enough so that family and freinds dropped in, but there was always plenty of room.
At first we were not sure of a house without air conditioning, especially with temperatures as high as 105 degrees on our way to Deep Creek, but the evenings were cool and the area is quiet making for great sleeping weather.
We have already started thinking about a winter ski weekend at the Wisp, and this is tops on the list for places to stay.
