THE Perfect Accommodation for Couples
As so many have already stated before on this website, this accommodation was absolutely wonderful to unwind in over our 4-day stay. Yes, as folks here have pointed out, the building is old, it has a rickety elevator, worn exterior carpeted hallways, yada-yada...but everybody on the premises are cordial and helpful and upon entering Holly's condominium, you quickly forget the retro state of everything outside her abode. Everything is upgraded and welcoming. The AC is a bonus, especially during this summer's record heat. We simply turned it on after spending a day out and about, then slipped out for a little dinner up the street in downtown Kailua (Humpy's is decent; everyone raves about Big Island Grill but we weren't impressed; but you Definitely want to go to Java Lava for breakfast!), and upon return, the condo is suitably cooled for you to throw open the sliding glass doors and slip away to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves 4 stories below. Every sunset was a postcard fantasy. The sun splashes pinks and purples across the horizon, the ocean is the perfect mirror, and all you have to do is sit in one of Holly's comfy lounge chairs on the lanai, a mimosa or two in hand, and soak in the beauty of it all. The bathroom is impeccable, as is the kitchen and its amenities. Loads of dishes, pans, silverware, pots and glassware, along with fluffy towels, blow dryer, 2 chi's, snorkels and masks, binoculars, DVD player, and books, capped off with an updated, large refrigerator, microwave, stove, dishwasher, and washer/dryer, make this home away from home a top-of-the-line experience. Only drawback, (and only because of space limitations), is the situated television on the side wall beside the bed -- kind of hard to get it at a decent angle to watch from all sides of the bed. But that is truly a minor, almost laughably miniscule hiccup to what is a great accommodation. We have stayed in several vacation rentals on Oahu, Maui, and Kauai, and unquestionably, without hesitation, Holly's place takes top prize. If she will have us, we will definitely like to return to her corner of paradise in the future.
OMG!!!! This place is magical!!
It's was the perfect location! Holly was so helpful.
The view is absolutely stunning!! I will be back for sure:)
The sound of ocean waves!
The property was very nice and had everything I needed. It was a wonderful place to watch the surfers from the deck!
Close access to vibrant character and resources of Kona. Also good surf and snorkel beaches nearby.
Property is well-maintained- poolside, oceanfront, grounds and parking area are all well kept. In particular unit 416 is a true gem in oceanside paradise relaxation. The decor is warm, comfortable, all the amenities you could require are provided. The owner is accessible and attentive to your needs! A wonderful spot to unwind and relax.
Room with a view! :)
Can’t beat that first impression of opening the door to unit # 416, walking in and viewing the ocean waves crashing ashore four floors below. The perfect prescription for a good night’s sleep was listening to the ocean, feeling the gentle breezes and enjoying that first cup of morning Kona coffee while sitting on the lanai. We witnessed a full moon and of course the setting sun during the course of our stay.
The unit was very clean, very quiet and well equipped. Nothing was spared in making the accommodations welcoming.
Thank you Holly for a great job managing a terrific property.

Perfect place for a couple
Beautiful views and waves at night, so glad top floor since this enabled us to spot the turtles in the tide pools each morning on the lanai. The unit has been renovated beautifully and this from an interior designer. It’s just right for a couple and even though in an older building it’s worth the price once you’re inside the unit. There is an elevator and even though we only had to use the A/C once glad to have had it. Glimpsed some of the other units same floor (in need of renovation) this one rivals all. The owners have provided spices, paper goods and so much more that one has to run out and pick up. In addition a great assortment of beach chairs, coolers, boards, snorkeling gear and now a fishing pole for those that have to try (like my husband). We did not use the pool or grills as we came for the beaches and the restaurants but they are in good shape. Covered parking was also a plus. We would certainly rent again and many thanks to the owners for being so responsive.
and don't forget the Mai Tai's at The Kona Inn!!
