About Lydia Burns

We are a family from a suburb in Chicago, Il. (Wilmette) who discovered Cape San Blas in 1998. We were so attracted to this beautiful area and this wonderful Gulf Front Beach home, called Two Palms, that we bought the house without me actually seeing the house. Boy we were lucky!!! What a great house and gorgeous area.

We stand ready to provide you with a value added and magical vacation experience. Our private manager/concierge, Donna, who lives 5 min. away, will be there to help you in any way and will take care of any problem or emergency you may have. We are also a phone call away from helping you in any way!!!!!

Thanks and Enjoy!!!!

Peter and Lydia Burns- Burns Management

Lydia Burns purchased this house in 1998

Why Lydia Burns chose Florida Panhandle

The beach is really large and wide here. There were/are 2 vacant lots to the East of our property and allows for wide angle and gorgeous unobstructed views of The Gulf of Mexico.

Check out our reviews and especially our value added service with our Red Neck Concierge, Manager- Donna who lives just a few blocks away. WE GOT YOUR BACK!!!!!! We can not promise that there will not be a problem or issue......BUT we can promise we will provide solutions IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

The lot is almost a full acre and there is only Two Palms between the highway (County Road C-30-A) and the Gulf of Mexico. Finally, on the other side of the road, is a huge Buffer /Preservation Reserve that has no houses or buildings on it. This is an extremely low density area, very private and views as a far as the eye can see. Enjoy the Hot Tub right on the deck for gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico, Beach and Brilliant Stars!!

What makes this house unique

This is one of the few Pet Friendly Beaches in the U.S. and the beach at the State Park was rated the BEST beach in the U.S. in 2003. Fishing is out of this world with some of the best and freshest shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops and Grouper you will find anywhere!! Lastly, there are no buildings permitted in Gulf County taller than 3 stories. There are no GIANT condos on the beach.

Bon Fires are permitted on the beach, car permits for driving on the beach are available and there is a very long bike path out to the State Park. Bike rentals are available.

We now have 2 Kayaks available for your personal use. A Two person and One person Ocean Going crafts.

We have a shuffle board court in the Car Port, a Horse Shoe Pit with backstop and a Bocci Ball set.

Two PalmsFrank & Sandi Sylva , NC Review Submitted: February 23, 2010 Date of Stay: January 2010 From the wrath of Hurricane Ida –Two Palms has been restored. The house is beautiful, inviting, comfortable and complete. This was our fourth year at Indian Pass and our second at Two Palms. It was wonderful to be back and the house was even more beautiful than before. We went seeking solitude and a place to rejuvenate ourselves. Two Palms provided. The weather was perfect as always-for January- cool sunny days, starry nights, flaming sunsets, brilliant thunderstorms and howling winds that brought abundant shells to the shores. Two Palms was the perfect shelter to take it all in. The white sand beach is wide and beautiful and we could walk for hours in either direction with our Lab and have it all to ourselves. The kitchen was fully equipped right down to the last detail. The furnishings were new, attractive and comfortable, and the beds, new linens and towels offered the pampered finishing touch. The front porch was our favorite spot providing shelter from sun, wind or rain. The winter sun rises and sets on the porch and we brought an extra blanket just for that purpose. Moving the hot tub to the lower front porch was a brilliant idea and so well thought out, creating another vantage point to enjoy the sunset and the moonrise. Within minutes we could have our kayaks in the water either in Saint Joe’s Bay or the bay at Indian Pass. We were even lucky enough to paddle with the dolphins at sunset. Port St. Joe is 20 minutes west with great grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly, a wine shop and restaurants. Our favorite is the Coastal Grill. We picked up groceries on the way in and only had to go into town once for supplies and dinner out. Thirty minutes east will take you in to Apalachicola, an old Florida experience with a rich history, quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. Two Palms is the perfect retreat. The Burns and their staff are friendly and eager to be of assistance and are only a phone call away. But with this fully equipped, beautiful home we didn’t have a need or want for anything. Thank you for another wonderful escape to Indian Pass. See you next year! 5 Star Home 5 Star Beach 0 Star Weather

  • 5 of 5

The Three Palms beach home of Indian Pass could not have been more perfect. The house is more than spacious, with plenty of living space both inside and out. The swimming pool saved our vacation because if you are going to get wet, it does not matter if the sun is shining or not! The kitchen had everything we needed. There was plenty of seating at the kitchen bar and the dining room table. The bedrooms each had their own tv and access to the wrap around balconies.

There are some things that cannot be controlled and in our case it was the weather, as it rained and rained and rained and rained. But there were brief periods where the rain would stop and we could still enjoy a quick dip in the gulf coast ocean. Our dog was not deterred by the rain in any way and enjoyed both swimming in the ocean and walks on the beach. There were plenty of shells to be found, especially sea dollars.

Because of the poor weather, we ventured into the quaint old town of Apalachicola for an afternoon of window shopping and on another evening for dinner. If you want a evening of local fun, go to the Indian Pass Raw Bar just a few minutes from Three Palms ... but get there early, otherwise you will be there for a long wait. The outdoor Karaoke singing helped pass the time before we got a table.

On the Friday before we left, the sun arrived just in time. We were able to spend the day on the beach and rented a double kayak. My husband and son paddled over to St. Vincent Island to explore this beautiful state park.

Thanks to Donna who offered her expertise and recommendations of things to do during our very wet stay.

We hope to return next year ... I have no doubt that the sun will be shining!

Wonderful!!!!

  • 5 of 5

Our family traveled to Cape San Blas and stayed at Two Palms. Absolutely loved the house and the location. Everything from the Website describing the property was very accurate. The facilities more than met our expectations and needs. Bedrooms and bathrooms were very nice as was the living portions of the house. Very scenic with many windows. Floor plan was open with a lot of outdoor space to enjoy. The beach and ocean are just steps from the backdoor. The wagon is a great help to cart your load to the beach. The cookware in the kitchen was of good quality and adequately supplied. Loved the hot tub and the grills in the evening and at night. The 2 outside showers were wonderful. The kayaks were great fun in the afternoon. We did crab hunt as recommended by Peter and had a feast. The house is located between Port St. Joe (for groceries) and Apalachicola which is a wonderful old town to explore. The best oysters were at Hole in the Wall in Apalachicola. Also made a visit to St. George Island. We also enjoyed dining at the Dockside, Triple Tails and Raw Bar. Donna helped with advising the purchase of seafood for a feast at the house. Kids went parasailing in Mexico Beach. There really is a lot to do and we didn't even make a dent in our list of things to do.

Heaven on Earth

  • 5 of 5

Two Palms is a little piece of heaven on earth!! The listing description was very accurate in where the home is located, the accommodations, and the amenities. The home was very clean and well maintained. Everything anyone would need (bath towels, dishes, cookware, etc.) were all furnished. Two Palms has a beautiful and comfortable décor, and the large windows let in a lot of beautiful Florida sunshine.

The owner was very fast in replying to our inquiry of the home and answered any questions we had. He kept in touch from the time we booked until we departed for vacation. Before leaving he emailed us information on the area and other areas close by and what the areas had to offer as far as activities, restaurants, rental companies for bikes, fishing equipment and fishing charters, horseback riding on the beach. All this information was extremely helpful in planning activities and dinners. Once we arrived, the owner called to check on us to make sure everything was up to standard and that we didn't need anything and that we were pleased. The care and time he took to make sure our vacation was great was above and beyond!!

I would highly recommend Two Palms to anyone who is looking for a peaceful, relaxing, laid back vacation in one of the most beautiful beaches I've been to. We enjoyed our stay so much at Two Palms that we called the owner before our vacation ended and booked again for the following summer!! I am so excited to go back, and plan on returning year after year.

Our second time at this place and we really enjoyed it

  • 5 of 5

This was the second time we stayed at Two Palms. Our dogs just loved running on the beach and we loved the beach and the new screened in porch. I didn't realize how much I would like it screened in but it keeps it a little cooler and keeps out any pesky bugs. There is plenty of comfortable furniture both inside and outside and the kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. We made use of the wagon to haul our beach gear out to the beach and were very grateful to have it. The house is very close to one of my favorite restaurants, the Indian Pass Raw Bar. I would definitely recommend this property to friends.

Owner's Response: Karen, so nice to have ya’ll back again. Thank you for your kind comments. We are always working to update and improve the experience at Two Palms Villa and it was reassuring to have your feedback from being here 4 years ago and the many improvements we made. The screened in Porch has been a huge improvement and so has the New Hot Tub/Spa. The most recent upgrade was the Two New Couches and Love Seat in the Living Room. We like to pride ourselves on having loads of comfortable outdoor seating as well as a well-stocked Kitchen. Thanks for noticing. The Beach Wagon is also new this year and that seems, so far, to be a great addition. We have added 6 Adirondack Chairs that we placed in our little “Private Beach” area just at end of the Boardwalk. This is a great private area where you won’t be bothered by golf carts or Trucks passing by. There is also a flat area that is cleared out to place a Beach Tent. Now you have 2 different areas to hang out on the beach. One near the water and another closer to the house and more private. Two Palms Villa is Truly Dog Heaven. One of the Best Beach areas anywhere for your Dog to go Wild. Lastly don’t forget about our Special Red Neck Concierge/Manager- Donna, who lives just a couple of minutes away. She will take very good care of you and any needs that you may have. Do you have a special request? Just ask our resident Dream Merchant- Donna, she will do everything she can to make your Vacation to Two Palms Villa a special event to be remembered for years to come. Come on down for a special experience at Two Palms Villa!

This map does not show the address correctly of the property. It is on the Gulf of Mexico, beach front. It is not on the bay. it is DIRECTLY on the Gulf of Mexico. There are no other houses in Front or Back of Two Palms. It is in between the Gulf of Mexico and the highway (Florida County Road C-30-A) west of money bayou and the Raw Bar. Also there are 2 vacant lots to the East of Two Palms , which is on almost a full ACRE lot, that creates glorious vistas of the beach and Gulf. It is a remarkably large compound, extremely private and almost deserted beach that is also one of the only remaining PET FRIENDLY beaches in Florida. Vehicles are also allowed on the beach with a permit. Finally, we have a private Manager/Concierge that lives less than 1 mile away who will help you with anything you need or desire.
