About Lydia Burns

We are a family from a suburb in Chicago, Il. (Wilmette) who discovered Cape San Blas in 1998. We were so attracted to this beautiful area and this wonderful Gulf Front Beach home, called Two Palms, that we bought the house without me actually seeing the house. Boy we were lucky!!! What a great house and gorgeous area.

We stand ready to provide you with a value added and magical vacation experience. Our private manager/concierge, Donna, who lives 5 min. away, will be there to help you in any way and will take care of any problem or emergency you may have. We are also a phone call away from helping you in any way!!!!!

Thanks and Enjoy!!!!

Peter and Lydia Burns- Burns Management

Lydia Burns purchased this house in 1998

Why Lydia Burns chose Florida Panhandle

The beach is really large and wide here. There were/are 2 vacant lots to the East of our property and allows for wide angle and gorgeous unobstructed views of The Gulf of Mexico.

Check out our reviews and especially our value added service with our Red Neck Concierge, Manager- Donna who lives just a few blocks away. WE GOT YOUR BACK!!!!!! We can not promise that there will not be a problem or issue......BUT we can promise we will provide solutions IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

The lot is almost a full acre and there is only Two Palms between the highway (County Road C-30-A) and the Gulf of Mexico. Finally, on the other side of the road, is a huge Buffer /Preservation Reserve that has no houses or buildings on it. This is an extremely low density area, very private and views as a far as the eye can see. Enjoy the Hot Tub right on the deck for gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico, Beach and Brilliant Stars!!

What makes this house unique

This is one of the few Pet Friendly Beaches in the U.S. and the beach at the State Park was rated the BEST beach in the U.S. in 2003. Fishing is out of this world with some of the best and freshest shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops and Grouper you will find anywhere!! Lastly, there are no buildings permitted in Gulf County taller than 3 stories. There are no GIANT condos on the beach.

Bon Fires are permitted on the beach, car permits for driving on the beach are available and there is a very long bike path out to the State Park. Bike rentals are available.

We now have 2 Kayaks available for your personal use. A Two person and One person Ocean Going crafts.

We have a shuffle board court in the Car Port, a Horse Shoe Pit with backstop and a Bocci Ball set.

Two PalmsFrank & Sandi Sylva , NC Review Submitted: February 23, 2010 Date of Stay: January 2010 From the wrath of Hurricane Ida –Two Palms has been restored. The house is beautiful, inviting, comfortable and complete. This was our fourth year at Indian Pass and our second at Two Palms. It was wonderful to be back and the house was even more beautiful than before. We went seeking solitude and a place to rejuvenate ourselves. Two Palms provided. The weather was perfect as always-for January- cool sunny days, starry nights, flaming sunsets, brilliant thunderstorms and howling winds that brought abundant shells to the shores. Two Palms was the perfect shelter to take it all in. The white sand beach is wide and beautiful and we could walk for hours in either direction with our Lab and have it all to ourselves. The kitchen was fully equipped right down to the last detail. The furnishings were new, attractive and comfortable, and the beds, new linens and towels offered the pampered finishing touch. The front porch was our favorite spot providing shelter from sun, wind or rain. The winter sun rises and sets on the porch and we brought an extra blanket just for that purpose. Moving the hot tub to the lower front porch was a brilliant idea and so well thought out, creating another vantage point to enjoy the sunset and the moonrise. Within minutes we could have our kayaks in the water either in Saint Joe’s Bay or the bay at Indian Pass. We were even lucky enough to paddle with the dolphins at sunset. Port St. Joe is 20 minutes west with great grocery shopping at the Piggly Wiggly, a wine shop and restaurants. Our favorite is the Coastal Grill. We picked up groceries on the way in and only had to go into town once for supplies and dinner out. Thirty minutes east will take you in to Apalachicola, an old Florida experience with a rich history, quaint shops and wonderful restaurants. Two Palms is the perfect retreat. The Burns and their staff are friendly and eager to be of assistance and are only a phone call away. But with this fully equipped, beautiful home we didn’t have a need or want for anything. Thank you for another wonderful escape to Indian Pass. See you next year! Owner's Response: Frank and Sandy, Thank you so much for taking the time and effort to share your experience staying at Two Palms.Your kind words are deeply appreciated. The months we have spent refurbishing and upgrading Two Palms are well worth it when we hear from folks like you. It gives us a great feeling of accomplishment that not only is Two Palms a very special place but that we made the right decision by managing it ourselves. We can pamper our guests and give them a truly value added vacation experience. Our staff will stop at nothing to create the best possible vacation for our renters. With input like yours we can reach our goal of getting better each and every week. Please come back soon! Regards and Thank You!!! Peter

Amazing I want to live there!

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Two Palms Villa was magnificent! Outstanding four season service! Once you step inside you are transported to a Homes and Garden Magazine. The place was so crisp and clean! The concierge Donna was sweet and helpful letting us know that we got to witness their brand new décor. (2 new couches, a loveseat, and new deck chairs.) Even the owner Peter called us during our stay to make sure we were enjoying our time. We had talked to him before the trip and after. The nice touch was his call during. Communication with him was always pleasant making us feel like we really mattered as guests. I especially loved the new deck chairs. Nothing was more splendid than sitting on the deck chair having a morning cup of coffee with your view being the expanding beaches and lovely blue water below. The place was fully equipped too. Available were the 2 Palms Kayaks which I took out while my husband stayed ashore fishing and caught one! The place has two styles of grills one gas and one charcoal. We used both to see if there were a difference in flavor… charcoal won. I love the outdoor showers for washing off after a frolicking day at the beach, you can use it for your pets too(There is a private shower too!) you definitely do not want the sand to hitchhike back inside this beautiful home. This place even comes equipped with the option to play Shuffleboard or Horseshoes. The best feature though is the Hot Tub/Spa and watching the outstanding sunsets and the bright twinkling stars at night. I actually fell asleep twice. Kept in pristine shape it was a joy to relax in. We will definitely come again next year!

Amazing slice of Real Florida (Don't tell anyone!)

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for the real deal instead of the fake Disney Land, overdeveloped experience, you need look no further than this little slice of Paradise! We couldn't believe how gorgeous Two Palms was! From the charming Florida decor, to the well stocked kitchen, to the decks overlooking the pristine gulf to the hot tub and the screened in porch. We felt that we had stepped into heaven and seriously didn't want to leave! We have traveled all over Florida and believe me when I tell you that it is a rare treat to experience such a life filled, diverse experience. Dolphins greeted us every morning and evening, we fished steps from the deck, we went crabbing every afternoon from the gorgeous Bayou where we kayaked back into the birder's Paradise! Every evening, we enjoyed home made cocktails while watching the sunset from our private back yard!

Donna was helpful in pointing us in the right direction when it came to renting a boat for the day, as well as fulfilling a dream of horseback riding in the waves.

We can't thank Peter and company enough for sharing his beautiful home! We will be back!

Beautiful and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time at two palms. The weather was great and ocean was beautiful. We spent most of our time at the house, only leaving twice to eat for our week stay. With the bayou right there we were able to catch our own blue crab with nets and traps provided at two palms, to create two wonderful meals. Thank you so much for our stay ! Peter (owner) and Donna (manager) were awesome to make our stay the best it could be!

Thank you,

Enjoyed our stay in Cape San Blas

  • 3 of 5

The photos of this rental desperately need to be updated. The picture leads one to believe that you have direct access to the beach. Although you have a wonderful view and are directly on the beach, there is a creek called the Money Bayou that runs right in front of the property which means you do not walk directly out onto the sand.

The sign on the property states housekeeping and concierge. This leads one to believe that you will have something special. The rental was not the cleanest on our arrival and there was no additional housekeeping during our stay, nor did I expect any. Don't know what the concierge service was as the only call to the property manager gave us no assistance.

The owners called to make sure that we had everything we needed and were quite friendly. However, I feel that the pictues on the website misrepresented the property completely. Furniture etc is very different and the beach access we expected did not exist.

Owner's Response: I am sorry it rained EVERY day you were there. Rental contract states: “During your stay maid service is available for $50 per hour, minimum 2 consecutive hours with 48 hours’ advance notice.” So our sign that says maid service, is in fact, TRUE. We do HOUSE KEEPING SERVICE. We take enormous PRIDE in the cleanliness of these houses when you arrive. Our permanent staff of cleaners treat Two Palms Villa like their own home. But we are not perfect and I always tell our guests before they arrive, as does Donna, if the place is in the least bit dirty or unacceptable, please call and we will come down and rectify the situation promptly. I always call guests; my first question is: did you find the house in the condition you expected? Was it clean? I was told there were no problems when I called and that everything was great! These folks called Donna once, BUT, DID NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE. How is our Concierge to know there is problem or questions to answer if you don’t leave a message? I give guests my home and mobile numbers, I encourage guests to call or text me (or Donna) for any reason. Please let’s learn from this, call or text us with anything that we can do for you! No matter how small or trivial. We LIVE for this!!! This year we added Brand New Living Room furniture and Deck Chairs. Our Furniture is constantly being stained and painted and we get a huge number of compliments on how nice and comfortable our furniture is. Money Bayou has always been a rich and wonderful part of the Two Palms Villa experience, especially with its abundant and easy to catch Blue Crabs everywhere! This spring Money Bayou made a 90 degree turn and is, now close to Two Palms, at times. The HUGE and BEAUTIFUL beach is right there. We made several adjustments and built sandy private sitting areas after the Boardwalk and before Money Bayou. We have also cleared a hugewalkway to get to the Gulf of Mexico with your wagon that we provide for your gear. The water depth in Money Bayou is ankle deep and you can easily reach the beach with no problem. Folks since April have been calling Money Bayou a tremendous asset/bonus. (We have 2 Commercial Crab Traps for use) Launching a Kayak’s is a breeze and you can go into the Back Country. We had had nothing but compliments and happy guests with Money Bayou moving closer to Two Palms Villa.( Especially with kids). Finally, the baby Crabs are the BEST bait for catching huge fish from the shore. Black Drum, Redfish and even tarpon were caught.

This map does not show the address correctly of the property. It is on the Gulf of Mexico, beach front. It is not on the bay. it is DIRECTLY on the Gulf of Mexico. There are no other houses in Front or Back of Two Palms. It is in between the Gulf of Mexico and the highway (Florida County Road C-30-A) west of money bayou and the Raw Bar. Also there are 2 vacant lots to the East of Two Palms , which is on almost a full ACRE lot, that creates glorious vistas of the beach and Gulf. It is a remarkably large compound, extremely private and almost deserted beach that is also one of the only remaining PET FRIENDLY beaches in Florida. Vehicles are also allowed on the beach with a permit. Finally, we have a private Manager/Concierge that lives less than 1 mile away who will help you with anything you need or desire.
