About Lydia Burns

We are a family from a suburb in Chicago, Il. (Wilmette) who discovered Cape San Blas in 1998. We were so attracted to this beautiful area and this wonderful Gulf Front Beach home, called Two Palms, that we bought the house without me actually seeing the house. Boy we were lucky!!! What a great house and gorgeous area.

We stand ready to provide you with a value added and magical vacation experience. Our private manager/concierge, Donna, who lives 5 min. away, will be there to help you in any way and will take care of any problem or emergency you may have. We are also a phone call away from helping you in any way!!!!!

Thanks and Enjoy!!!!

Peter and Lydia Burns- Burns Management

Lydia Burns purchased this house in 1998

Why Lydia Burns chose Florida Panhandle

The beach is really large and wide here. There were/are 2 vacant lots to the East of our property and allows for wide angle and gorgeous unobstructed views of The Gulf of Mexico.

Check out our reviews and especially our value added service with our Red Neck Concierge, Manager- Donna who lives just a few blocks away. WE GOT YOUR BACK!!!!!! We can not promise that there will not be a problem or issue......BUT we can promise we will provide solutions IMMEDIATELY!!!!!

The lot is almost a full acre and there is only Two Palms between the highway (County Road C-30-A) and the Gulf of Mexico. Finally, on the other side of the road, is a huge Buffer /Preservation Reserve that has no houses or buildings on it. This is an extremely low density area, very private and views as a far as the eye can see. Enjoy the Hot Tub right on the deck for gorgeous views of the Gulf of Mexico, Beach and Brilliant Stars!!

What makes this house unique

This is one of the few Pet Friendly Beaches in the U.S. and the beach at the State Park was rated the BEST beach in the U.S. in 2003. Fishing is out of this world with some of the best and freshest shrimp, oysters, crab, scallops and Grouper you will find anywhere!! Lastly, there are no buildings permitted in Gulf County taller than 3 stories. There are no GIANT condos on the beach.

Bon Fires are permitted on the beach, car permits for driving on the beach are available and there is a very long bike path out to the State Park. Bike rentals are available.

We now have 2 Kayaks available for your personal use. A Two person and One person Ocean Going crafts.

We have a shuffle board court in the Car Port, a Horse Shoe Pit with backstop and a Bocci Ball set.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a vacation that is unforgettable. It was a perfect location, the Money Bayou was way off to the left, the beach was right in front of the house--this is a big deal. We've stayed at Cape San Blas every year and it's hit or miss with houses that are 'on the beach'. Sometimes you have to share a pier with several other houses, or climb over dunes. This is a short pier and flat walk --about 25 steps to the beach.

The beach is fantastic because it's not a touristy beach. There are very few people (if any) on it. It feels like you're on a paradise island.

We enjoyed every single moment from sun up to sun down.

The hot tub was a treasure after a long day exploring the Cape.

The home was beautiful both inside and out and the owners were very helpful and welcoming.

We definitely decompressed, made some sand sculptures, toured the beach daily and caught a lot of sand crabs (quick little buggers.)

I highly recommend this location

Sincerely, A seasoned Cape San Blas vacationer.

Amazing - Private - Spacious - Perfect

  • 5 of 5

I could not say enough about this house. It was amazing. Plenty of room for privacy, as well as gatherings. The beach is clean, everyone is friendly, and away from it all. You can have pets on the beach, drive on the beach (with a pass), there is plenty of marine life available, shrimp, crabs, fish, pelicans, you name it, it is there. You have space on the beach to spread out, the screened porch is awesome for morning coffee and if you are lucky to get the master room on the 3rd floor, morning coffee overlooking the ocean in the mornings is breathtaking. Everything you can possibly need or want is at this house. Lots to do from relaxing, to kayaks, crabbing, shuffle board, board games, cooking out and all. Again, a great house with plenty of room, a phone call will bring you a brownie pan or bowl, the house is super clean and oh before I forget the beds and linens are super comfortable. The beds are not old and sunk in (like some places) they have quality sheets, quality pillows, great towels and updated appliances. Truly a hidden gem with EVERYTHING you can think of and more!!!

We appreciate you noticing the SPECIAL little things we do……. Comfortable Beds, Soft Sheets and Pillows, Towels, our Stocked Kitchen and our VERY Comfortable Decks! Most of all our special secret, Donna, our Concierge, who brought over brownie pans, bowls and dish towels. She is Dream Merchant and Loves to help our guests with anything. We look forward to having you back again, soon. Peter B.

Great place for a family, beach vacation

  • 5 of 5

Two Palms was absolutely perfect for our family getaway. The beach was wonderful and private. I loved the fact we didn't have to worry about space on the beach and all the kids could play. The kayaks and the paddle board were constantly used and a huge selling point for us. The house itself was in great condition and very clean when we arrived. Peter was also extremely helpful and kept in touch during our stay to make sure all of our questions were answered. We all loved it and would love to come again!

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for taking the time and energy to share your comments! I am so happy we were able to get you folks in way before check in time. Thanks for staying with us. There is a huge problem right now with BEACH EROSION out on Cape San Blas, especially the Northern part of the Cape. In some places, there is barely any sand to place your towel, chairs and umbrellas. It is a serious problem and the County is trying to work on it. MEANWHILE, at Two Palms Villa , on the Southern End of Cape San Blas, the beach is GROWING and EXPANDING! The area already is extremely large, quiet and LOW DENSITY. These folks were here the week of July 4, the years busiest time of year, and their firsthand experience shows that they had tons of room on the beach and tons of privacy. This is NOT the case out on the Cape, where there are tons more people and the Beach is JAMMED. We were also thrilled you enjoyed the Kayak’s and Stand Up Board that are provided at no charge. The beach area is large and private that don’t have to worry about bumping into other folks and their vessels. The Beach at Two Palms Villa is one of its biggest asset’s and the privacy and space is second to none! This coupled with a Wonderful and Comfortable House, with a Spa on the Front Deck, makes it a special destination and our staff makes it comfortable one. Thanks- Peter B.

Very Beautiful & Comfortable House

  • 4 of 5

The house and the location for shopping were absolutely great; short distance for shopping, roomy and comfortable home with beautiful, gorgeous views. The owner was very nice, helpful, welcoming, and very personable. The paddle board, two kayaks, and the awesome hot tub were a wonderful touch too and all used very, very regularly. The house came with everything you could need. The only reason I gave our stay four stars was the bayou water, which is out of anyone's control of course, but was more of a disappointment to the family. Mother nature; a freshwater river flows into the ocean a few houses east, taking away the beautiful clear sea green and blues in the area right in front of the houses in the immediate area. Other than that it was perfect! We just kayaked out to the sea green and blue areas, it was fun! We also rented a golf cart from Denzie in PSJ who gave us a great deal. We rode up and down the beach. Thank you for the memories.

Owner's Response: Thanks for your kind comments about Two Palms Villa. It really is an amazing place! Huge Beaches with very little density/population on the beach. While the beaches out on the Cape by the State Park St. Joe Peninsula State Park are eroding every day and getting smaller, in our immediate area we continue to see our beaches expand, get wider and bigger! We do have a fresh water creek that empties out into into the Gulf of Mexico. It has been there forever, and is a wonderful source of fun and excitement. Money Bayou, as it is called, contains tons of Blue Crab, Shrimp and Mullet, all of which can be caught with a throw net!!! We provide commercial Crab Traps and Poles with Nets to catch crabs individually. You can throw your crab trap out in the water and come back at the end of the day or the next day, and steam, fry or boil up your catch!!! They are a blast to catch and eat, very tender and sweet. You can feed the whole family!!! You can take the Kayaks up the Creek and experience all kinds of wildlife and just beautiful scenery of “Old Florida” at its best in a Preserve that is one of a kind. You can even take the Paddle Board up the creek. The big “secret” of Money Bayou is to catch some small /baby crabs and use them for bait and fish right from the shore/beach at Two Palms Villa. Guests have caught some HUGE fish: Redfish, Trout and Drum Fish, to name a few. Currently Money Bayou flows into the Gulf EAST of Two Palms Villa, not right in front of it. It does move and change direction. As mentioned the Beach is huge, we cannot promise what the weather will be like or what conditions will be. There was a tremendous amount of rain these folks experienced the week they were there and that makes for turbulent water and sometimes murky, no matter where you are on the Gulf of Mexico. We are so sorry that water color was disappointing to you. There are days and weeks that have consecutive crystal-clear water, and then there are rainy/bad weather days, and the water is not clear. Hopefully when you come, you can adjust your expectations and not let the water of a body of ocean influence your overall experience and just paddle out further like these folks did. Two Palms Villa has so much to do and enjoy and this area of Gulf County is one of the best and coolest areas in the Country. Enjoy the great natural beauty and its magnificent features and take it all in! Thanks-Peter B. -Owner

Was the perfect place for our vacation

  • 5 of 5

I had stayed in Three Palms last year with kids and grandkids and loved the place. It was in great shape and everything we could think of was provided. My parents (in their 80's) wanted to go to the beach. My siblings and I decided to go and stay in Two Palms and it was perfect for the 8 of us. As before everything we needed was there. My Parents loved it as much as we did. The owners and manager go out of their way to make sure we have what we need. Will we be back for sure.

What a fabulous palce on the Forgotten Coast

  • 5 of 5

Two Palms Villa is everything you could possibly want in a vacation rental on The Gulf of Mexico. What you see in the photos is exactly what you see when you arrive. I can think of no other amenities one could expect to have in a home, right down to the quality knife sharpener Peter has provided. This may sound trivial unless you have stayed in as many vacation rentals as my wife and I have and had hand full of dull knives in the drawers. The lighted boardwalk and drive with motion sensors LED lights was an especially nice touch. Did I mention this home is located away from the hustle and bustle normally associated with life on the Gulf, the beach is practically yours alone yet close to great dining, grocery needs, nature and charter fishing if you so desire. Donna Stuart, the on site manager, makes sure no stone is left unturned when you arrive and will promptly assist you should you run into an issue (we did not). If you only get one shot at going to the beach in your lifetime, put Two Palms Villa on your bucket list. Thanks for everything Peter.

Mamaws Beach Trip

  • 5 of 5

Two-Palms was a wonderful get away for us 3 friends, 2 grandparents and 2 fur babies! The house was even better than the pictures and the Gulf front view was incredible!! Mamaw would get up with her coffee and watch the dolphins swim back & forth along the beach every morning. What a great memory!

Port St Joe was about 10 mins up the scenic road with everything you would need for your visit. The well stocked kitchen made it easy to cook when we just wanted to stay home to enjoy the beach longer. Two Palms is well kept up and has great amenities that allow you to pack less and enjoy more. The less crowded beach was perfect for us to enjoy family time as well as plenty of room to walk and pick up thousands of shells which made it hard to pack up & leave! We would certainly go back to this beautiful beach home away from home!!

This map does not show the address correctly of the property. It is on the Gulf of Mexico, beach front. It is not on the bay. it is DIRECTLY on the Gulf of Mexico. There are no other houses in Front or Back of Two Palms. It is in between the Gulf of Mexico and the highway (Florida County Road C-30-A) west of money bayou and the Raw Bar. Also there are 2 vacant lots to the East of Two Palms , which is on almost a full ACRE lot, that creates glorious vistas of the beach and Gulf. It is a remarkably large compound, extremely private and almost deserted beach that is also one of the only remaining PET FRIENDLY beaches in Florida. Vehicles are also allowed on the beach with a permit. Finally, we have a private Manager/Concierge that lives less than 1 mile away who will help you with anything you need or desire.
