My name is Cecilia and I have lived in the Hubbard Lake area for over 30 years. I love to come relax at the lake with my family and allow others to share in that experience at an affordable and comfortable cabin location.
My family purchased this cottage so that we would have a cool place to get away from after working at our 300 acre hobby farm. We weren't looking for a condo, but something rustic and lasting that could sustain kids, grandkids and grandparents through the years.
What's unique about the Hubbard Lake Haven is two-fold: its ability to host large groups and its amazing beachfront. Many cabins on the lake (or any lake, for that matter) often have a rocky beach, or a steep, difficult to get to beachfront. Not here. We have a beautiful sandy beach, that you can see and walk to right from the yard (yes, there ARE zebra mussels in the lake for those who are not familiar with northern Michigan lakes). The 150' wide yard and beachfront also makes it easy to accommodate large get togethers, and the tree canopy overheard and along the property offer privacy. Expectation Management: If you are looking for a pristine home, check out Churchille Point Inn (http://www.churchillpointeinn.com/), a hotel or some other very nice homes on vrbo. If you understand that this is a cottage and operates as is, then you will be able to enjoy a fantastic waterfront that is quiet and great for families!
We spent a great weekend on Hubbard Lake! When I walked in I was blown away by how open and clean everything was with a beautiful view of the lake from the house. We were able to spread out with plenty of room.
My favorite part was waking up to the sound of the water and taking a swim in the lake! My whole family had a wonderful time and I would recommend you give this place a look, can't wait to come back next year !
Our stay was a short one for a family wedding but the cottage was a perfect place to rest and relax between all of the activities!! Beautiful property and a nice quiet spot with lots of amenities close by. Thank you!
Cottage was nice. Still a problem with the screens and patio doors however. Lake is awesome, but fishing was slow. Grandkids loved the big yard. Had a bonfire every night. Great Lake for tubing and jet sking .
We had a wonderful family vacation here for our week in August! Cottage was spacious and clean with enough room for all 3 families and kids without feeling cramped. Lower level bedrooms were spacious enough for pack n plays for the babies. :) Loved the large yard and walk right into the water! Hubbard Lake was beautiful and the water nice and clear for swimming. We had a nice relaxing vacation & everyone really enjoyed our stay!
Great location and area and Alicia was amazing to work with from start to finish for our trip! Would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to enjoy Northern Michigan!
We had a great time with our children and grandkids. Very clean and comfortable. Having water rafts and chairs was great. We especially enjoyed the canoe and fire pit. We all want to go again
Hubbard Lake is one of the cleanest spring fed lakes in Michigan. The state record for largest smallmouth bass was also just recorded here on Oct 20, 2015! Spanning over 8,500 acres in size and surrounded by beautiful forest, it offers many recreational possibilities regardless of the season. Swimming, skiing, tubing, fishing, kayaking, sailing, and just plain relaxing are great activities for the summertime heat. Majestic fall colors make for the most beautiful photography, while the wintertime ice lends itself to some of the best ice fishing "cold" spots. Nearby Alpena (20 mi) boasts NOAA (http://thunderbay.noaa.gov/), with historical and real life displays of the area's famous shipwreck and diving history, as well as a cute downtown with an ice cream shop, fountain, two movie theaters, salons, saloons and the Thunder Bay Theater (http://www.thunderbaytheatre.com/).
Other Activities: Kayaking, Canoeing
