About The Owner

Hi, I have been coming to Maine regularly now for 10 years and found out my great uncle was governor of Maine. I had a camp on Little Sebago Lake for years and all i ever heard from the locals was that Thompson Lake was the best all around lake and very clean. So started looking and found this property. Added a second floor and had a great time remodeling. Very happy with the outcome and hope you will be too.

The Owner purchased this house in 2006

Why The Owner chose Oxford

I guess my DNA just likes it up here. Very peaceful, awesome weather, water is spectacular, refreshing and I drink it. Thompson Lake was never used as a travel route by Indians or settlers so it was never developed. I am surprised that there is never a lot of boat/ water craft traffic for such a large body of water unlike some of the other big lakes around.

What makes this house unique

Home cooked meals with family, swimming, snorkeling, kayak and canoeing, fishing, resting, Concerts and dinner at the Stone Mountain Arts Center, playing with my children, Fryberg State Fair (awesome) fall, deep snow in Winter, etc.

Guestbook comments from the owner

This week was filled with canoeing, kayaking, all over the lake and especially to Turtle Island! We also enjoyed sitting on the chairsand hammock just relaxing by the water. Downtown Naples was lots of fun, kid friendly and the ice cream was delicious. At night we enjoyed campfires by the water. In the morning it was nice to wake up to thesun over the beautiful deck. This week was beautiful and much needed to relax.

Thank you so much for a great stay.

Our Family Getaway

This place is our second home. The interior and exterior woodwork, the private waterfront and stone fireplace! Amazing! A dream escape for us and a vacation we will treasure forever.

Perfect getaway on Maine's loveliest lake

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful, pristine spot. We woke up every morning to sparkling water, loon calls, and fresh lake air. I have done my fair share of touring the lakes regions of Maine and NH and I have to say that Thompson may be the most special. Clear water for swimming, hardly any boat traffic, lots of fun islands to explore. We kayaked, read in the hammock, grilled amazing meals, and just relaxed. On the one rainy day, it was fun to take advantage of the pool table and foosball, plus the very cozy game room upstairs for movie watching. There is also a massive pile of wood for crackling fires. I cannot wait to go back.
