Overview

Washington Apartment Rental Photos and Description

Apartment, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)

This new lake view apartment is built on top of a private garage. There is a panoramic view of beautiful Mayfield Lake. We made a wrap-around deck on the north and east sides (for the view). We have furnished the 1080 square foot apartment as a place we would want to live in, but we own the larger house next door (see vrbo listing 314232) as our vacation property and added the garage/apartment for our future use. For the next few years, the apartment offers a great getaway place to enjoy yourself.

The two-bedroom apartment has queen beds to sleep four and two more persons could sleep on the fold-out sleeper sofa. The kitchen is set up to allow you to cook your meals or there are several restaurants within short drivings distances. Laundry room has full-size stacking units.

The real opportunity of this location and setup is that this is a great place to stay and relax or be as active as you want to be. Mayfield Lake was formed when a dam was built on the Cowlitz River. Mayfield Lake offers boating, water sports, fishing (8 varieties), hunting, and Ike Kinswa State Park for swimming and other children's activities. There is sport fishing on the Cowlitz (salmon and steelhead in season), hiking in the hills and mountains, skiing/boarding at White Pass winters, sightseeing in the Cascade Range.

A drive to Randle, WA puts you nestled in the middle of Mt. Rainier, Mt. Adams, and Mt. St. Helens. The natural beauty of the area still puts me in awe after years of enjoyment. There are restaurants, horseback riding, and other services in the small towns around the area with the type of folks that are warm and welcoming.

Check-in time is at 4:00 p.m. or later.

Check-out time is 12:00 noon or earlier.

Neighborhood Considerations: Quiet hours are between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. every day of the week. The property is in a quiet neighborhood and that must be maintained during the quiet hours.

If you are looking for a getaway with lots of choices for activities, you have found it!

Keywords: Flat, upstairs loft, 2-bedroom, 4-6 person, Lake View, great view, Mt. St. Helen's, Mt. Rainier, Gifford Pinchot, Mayfield Lake, Wi-Fi internet, HD TV

About The Owner

Lynda and Darrel Libby own two properties side-by-side. We have worked to make this our future retirement home. We live in Vancouver, WA currently, and spend the weekends mostly at the Mayfield Lake Home. We started building a garage for our future needs and by the time we had the garage space, the opportunity to add some living space was a good choice. The contractors met our requirements and built a high quality building to our liking. Retirement is a few years away, so we want to rent out the apartment when we are not using it.

The Owner purchased this apartment in 2010

Why The Owner chose Washington

I like to fish, hike, hunt, and enjoy watching the sun rise over the lake and reflect a warm welcome to a new day. This vacation spot is 75 minutes driving time from our home in Vancouver and just under 2 hours from downtown Seattle. We have kids in both locations, so this was hopefully thinking ahead towards visiting the grandkids. It is in a quiet neighborhood set away from cities. There is a small stop on the way called Salkum, which has the basic groceries. Mossyrock is 12 minutes away with a few more shops. Chehalis and Centralia have a good variety of shops and indoor activities.

What makes this apartment unique

Relaxation for those needing to get away. If you are more active, then the variety of outdoor activities will keep your interest. The VRBO rental is a great way to vacation at a destination location without breaking the bank.

Guestbook comments from the owner

My what a well appointed place to stay with abundant evidence of thoughtful preparation. The little things and the big things are all accounted for, making guests feel welcomed and expected.

And what beaufiful surroundings! The Milky Way is clearly visible at night - a testimony to the Creator's handiwork. What a wonderful place to come to after a long journey.

Peaceful Hideaway

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed in the Silver Creek apartment several times. As always it was very neat and clean and Lynda & Darrell are the best people to deal with. We always feel at peace and at home. This is our favorite VRBO rental to date! With the steps up from the parking area probably not good for people with mobility issues but otherwise an all around wonderful apartment.

This was a great place for our family to explore Mt Rainier and Mt St Helens. Beautiful views, well equipped kitchen for us to create our meals and comfortable beds. Would thoroughly recommend this apartment.

Family Fun

  • 4 of 5

The apartment was very clean and comfortable and suited our needs. We had originally hoped to find a place on the lake with a dock to leave the boat, however, the state park is very close and worked out just fine for launching our boat each day. We had a nice view of the lake. The owners were very helpful and nice, and we could tell they wanted to make sure we had a good stay. The fire pit with the s'mores fixings was a nice touch that our children appreciated. It was also great that we were able to bring our dog. Although the house was well equipped overall, we did run short on paper products (hardly any napkins, tissues, paper towels) so it would've been nice to have had an adequate supply for our stay as most places we've rented in the past have had. Other than that, it was good.

Owner's Response: We are glad you enjoyed your stay. There are normally some extra supplies in the linen closet of paper towels and napkins, and a couple of extra rolls of tissue. There may not be an endless supply, but there should be enough for a weekend stay. We are sorry that you experienced a shortage of paper products and apologize for this oversight.

Excellent place to stay

  • 5 of 5

I stayed three nights with my family of five. My children have pet allergies and the owner was very accomodating to get carpet cleaned prior to our visit.

Charming Rental in the Country!

  • 5 of 5

My family rented this home for a weekend visit to Mt St Helens and it far exceeded our expectations! The home is new and was very, very clean. It was well furnished with new clean furniture, including clean (and what seemed freshly laundered!) bed linens and towels. The home was also fairly well stocked. This included all needed bathroom toiletries (albeit basic brands). The kitchen was also nicely stocked as well, these included: full spices, coffee, filters, sugar, tea bags, plastic baggies, tinfoil (etc), BBQ condiments (a nice variety), a full basket of S'mores fixings, and a new bag of M&Ms! The television (on the small side - 27"?) had a gazillian channels, and they also provided some movies, along with some board games as well. The only downside to the property is that it is situated adjacent to the owners' larger house and the layout of the two properties gave little privacy for renters (although a quick close of the blinds fixed the problem.) The plus side to this was the delivery in the morning of freshly picked corn from the farm down the road!

This charming home was the perfect setting for our family's little getaway. Enjoy!

Highly recommend this Rental! Well taken care of & beautiful area!

  • 5 of 5

Not only is this a beautiful location to stay but the house is extremely well taken care of and the owners are exceptionally generous and attentive. The apartment is very spacious and in excellent condition. The owners are very attentive to details to provide the exact amenties you would want. The kitchen included all the basics to help with preparing a home cooked meal and even include extras such as the fixings for smores. We had a very relaxing and comfortable stay. The deck is great for conversation overlooking the lake and mountains. The owners were by far the best hosts of any VRBO rental we've stayed in and we've used quite a few on both the East and West coasts.
