A long, winding driveway leads you into this private, wooded setting. This open floor-plan features a 36 ft long vaulted greatroom with a floor to ceiling, rock fireplace, 25' high beamed ceilings and an open staircase with a surrounding balcony. The south-facing wall of the great room is all windows, and there is a combination of pine floors in the living room area and tile throughout the dining room and island kitchen. There are French doors from the kitchen to the large, private wrap-around deck. It is partially covered and there is a quality, gas barbeque for guest use.

The kitchen is fully equipped and is designed as for a lot of people to congregate. There's an abundance of cabinets including food pantry cabinets for guest storage.

The main floor has one bedroom with a double bed and a set of bunkbeds. There is a full bathroom right across the hall.

The 2nd floor has two large bedrooms, each with a queen bed and vanity/dressing rooms. There is a full bathroom in between.

There is a mud room between the kitchen and the attached double garage. The laundry room closet is adjacent to it.

Off the mudroom there is a separate stairway to the 4th bedroom that we call the bunk room. It has its own bathroom, two sets of trundle beds and a queen size futon. Its very private and the vaulted ceilings and nooks & crannies make it a fun, versatile room to be in.

The home is fully air conditioned. Propane fuel for the barbeque and firewood are provided for and included.

Wonderful Family Home!

SM155 is a wonderful family home, with an open floor plan and we'll-situated bedrooms for both gathering and privacy. The kitchen is organized and has a good array of cooking implements. Our granddaughters enjoyed the nest-like area under the stairs, close by but, a cozy and fun spot for imaginative play. The ten to fifteen minute walk to Glaze Center is easy and relaxing.

I have rented houses at Black Butte for the last 5 years and have had nothing but great experiences. This is not a house I would ever rent again. The driveway was not cleared of snow so in turn we had to spend 4 hrs of our vacation time shoveling. Although the house was large enough for our family of 10 the living area only had 1 hard futon and 2 chairs we had to bring in dining room chairs to have enough sitting for us all. The beds were old,

hard and very uncomfortable. On our 1st night (after shoveling for hours) we noticed that a

bedroom window was leaking, we took pictures as to send to the owners, on the 2nd day a cam light in the dinning area started leaking again we took pictures, on our last day we woke up to more leaking in the kitchen which need a bucket on the floor to catch the drips, again we took more pictures. On that day before we left we told the owners wife about the leaking, she apologized for the inconvenience. Three minutes later the owner called and started yelling at me saying I should have called him sooner, I didn't know what to else say so I gave the phone to my son in law, the owner started cursing him out he did not want to get in a heated argument with this man so he gave me the phone back and all I could say was that we had taken pictures to send and that I was sorry. He said that he would be there in 3 hrs and hung up. I understand that his house was leaking and he was upset but really the yelling and cursing was unacceptable. We paid money for this rental for our family to have a nice vacation and to treated this was not nice

Owner's Response: We built our home 25 years ago after spending 10 years renting. It was and continues to be a great love of ours both personally and as a family. We also enjoy sharing it with our guests (some very long term) and their appreciative, unsolicited reviews up to now have been gratifying. It snowed a lot the week after we left from our annual New Year's family weekend. On January 6th Diana Lacey inquired about and reserved the upcoming holiday weekend just one week before their stay. So to doubly prepare for the guests arrival, I went back up to shovel snow from both the roof and the driveway and brought up more firewood for them. I left with the driveway accessible and snow removed from the roof to prevent any possible damage. I've always maintained it in that manner and it never had leaked so I left confident that all was well taken care of. When the weather forecast reported an enormous amount of snow I called the Ranch maintenance. They told me they were having trouble keeping up with plowing the roads & weren't able to address clearing driveways. We then called the guest to inform her of the weather conditions, the probable "4 wheel drive only" condition of the driveway and offered to let her change her dates to avoid any weather issues. She checked with her family and called back to say they were excited and that there would be no problems with them and snow. To make sure they were ok, I called an hour or two after their arrival. The guest said they made it there safely, the kids had already discovered the igloo (from Xmas guests) and that the house was fine. So we assumed they would have a fun weekend. On Monday morning just before their departure, we called them to make sure they understood the laundry procedures when checking out. The guest informed us that the leaking roof put a damper on their weekend. When asked how long it had been leaking they said since they arrived and that our neighbor told them it happened all the time at our home. I told them that was B S, that the roof had never leaked and asked why they couldn't give me the decency and respect to call us immediately like, I assumed, anyone would do (we are lucky to have called them). That was about 9:30AM and check-out time is 11AM. I told them I'd be there in 3 hours. I made it and spent the next 6 days dealing with and minimizing the damage. Roofers are still not available for repair. Though it's painful, I guess I can live with one unhappy guest in 25 years.

Favorite House at Black Butte

This home is lovely, well kept and well managed. The Foote's (owners / managers) were responsive and helpful, making the whole process and stay smooth and easy. The home is large and easily sleeps 10 as it states on VRBO - not only that, the size of the home allows for 10 people to comfortably coexist - furthermore the huge kitchen makes it's easy for multiple people to prepare food! We loved the loft room over the garage as the kids room and hang out, the kids felt like they had their own hideaway and it made bedtime easy. One of the best features of this house is the AIR CONDITIONING! It got hot while we were at BBR and it was so nice to come back to a cool house.

The back of the home looks out into an open space and every morning and every night there were deer running through. At one point we saw 11 deer in the backyard at once - pretty amazing and the kids loved it.

We also enjoyed the large garage at this house which made getting bikes in / out super easy. Perfect location as well - close enough to Glaze Meadow to walk (or bike) and an enjoyable bike ride to the Lodge (Lakeside) Pool through the cow pasture meadow.

We loved staying here and hope to stay again next summer!

Fantastic Vacation Spot

This cabin home is just as beautiful in actuality as it is in the photos! The large, panel windows on all sides make it bright and airy. It is clean, spacious, and inviting. The living room has a large fireplace and the home comes stacked with wood. Outside there is a nice deck, a grill, and patio furniture, perfect for the summer. We were two related families (each with 4 members) who stayed during the winter. The house is so big that we did not get in each other's way! The kitchen is large and fully equipped. We made most of our meals on site. The location is perfect. It is on a quiet road with lots of privacy and you can walk to Glaze Meadow and the South Meadow rec center. The owner is very friendly and hands-on. If you need something or have a question he responds right away. By the end of our 9 day stay, we felt at home and didn't want to leave! It's truly a home away from home. A+ quality.

Super family home

This home is ideally located and on a very private lot in black butte.

Very roomy and a well stocked kitchen. The deck has both sun and shade and is large outdoor play area for our 18 mos old grandchildren. The bike trail entrance is just a house or two away.

Great house at Black Butte - and perfectly located

We just finished a 10 day stay at Black Butte Ranch and found this home very well kept, clean, comfortable and inviting. Its layout is perfect for a larger family gathering or multiple families. Location-wise, it's a 10 minute walk from either the Glaze Meadow or South Meadow rec areas so everyone was happy. At the same time, it's on a quiet street and has plenty of privacy. The owner is very attentive and proactive. The listing photos probably do not do the property justice - it is always difficult for photos to capture everything and in this case, we found the property to exceed our expectations based on photos. We will no doubt rent this property again.
