About Christina Zeller

We fell in love with Captiva after a short visit to the gulf coast in 1998. We had just build a vacation home in Breckenridge, Colorado but after finding Captiva we decided that we love the warm weather and the beautiful beach more more than the cold. We quickly sold the mountain property and purchased our lovely Life's a Beach cottage located in the heart of the island. We have never regretted buying the cottage and love to spend as much time as possible in Captiva. This island is a wonderful place and the beaches and sunsets are magnificent.

We are sure you will fall in love with Captiva and Life's a Beach too.

Christina Zeller purchased this cottage in 1998

Why Christina Zeller chose Captiva

Captiva is the most beautiful tropical island in the US.

What makes this cottage unique

The one thing all our quests comment on is that they feel like they have left reality and stress behind and truly felt like living in paradise for a while. Leave all your worries on the mainland and enjoy our beautiful island and our relaxing cottage.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We so enjoyed our stay at your fabulous beach cottage. We were trying to figure out how not to leave! Your property feels like one is in the tropics with all the greenery, which also offers a wonderful sense of privacy. The location on Wightman Lane has to be one of the best on the island-close enough to everything within walking distance in town- but also feels like it is far away from civilization. The size is perfect and the kitchen is nicely equipped which is unusual. The colors in the home are so vibrant, perfect for a beach motif! We have already discussed weeks we would like to reserve in October and next spring!

Amaaaazing place

  • 5 of 5

This was the most relaxing trip I've had in a long time. The cottage is just steps to the water....down a lush jungle pathway to a breathtaking beach loaded with seashells. We saw everything from dolphins, ibis, pelicans and manatees. There are lots of cute little shops, cafes and restaurants that are walking distance as well. The cottage has everything you need to make gourmet meals. We were very comfortable and look forward to staying here again.

We were there less than a week after Irma. As expected there were lots of trees and limbs down on the island but the cottage was great and the beach was beautiful.

Beautiful homey beach cottage steps away from the town & beach!

  • 5 of 5

Life's a Beach is a great getaway for families, couples or friends on a charming quiet island. The cottage is situated just steps from the beach, town, and most restaurants on the island. We couldn't have asked for a better place to spend relaxing for a week! Would absolutely recommend!

Great beach vacation

  • 4 of 5

We came for spring break, which included my husband and three teenage boys. We had a wonderful vacation. The beach is a short, enjoyable walk. The cart at the house was very helpful to bring all of our stuff. The beach is fantastic. Not overly crowded and easy access to beach activities. We parasailed and rented wave runners. We also went charter fishing, which was amazing. We didn't get a car. Everything is within walking distance -- like really close. We tried lots of different restaurants. Our favorite was Doc's. This is definitely a relaxing, beach location. Not a ton to do but that's what we were looking for. The beach stuff could use some upgrading but it was fine. If you want to sit on the deck, bring some bug spray. All in, it was a great vacation. We would definitely come back. Thanks for a great stay.

We had a wonderful, relaxing time at "Life is a beach". The cottage is very nicely decorated and fully equipped. We found everything we needed. There is a luxuriant vegetation all around the cottage. The beds are very confortable. We enjoyed the Jacuzzi and the outside terraces as well. It's close to the beach (walk to) and the Captiva Beach is so nice! We've been shelling and walking a lot. The Island store for grocery shopping is at walking distance, so are some other places like the restaurants Bubble room, a Mexican, a beach and souvenirs shop... You can watch the sunset from the beach and enjoy a drink from the Pub close by while watching it. We went to the Farmer's Market on Sanibel, drove to the Sanibel lighthouse, explored the JN Ding Darling Refuge, played some of the games we found in the living room, stayed at the beach and enjoyed the calm and the view. We would definitely love to come back!
