We currently live near Poughkeepsie, NY in our "empty nest". We are both from California and managed to meet and fall in love, even though we went to rival high schools. We have been married for 40 years and have 3 children and 5 grandchildren. Kent is semiretired from IBM and Debbie is still teaching second grade. We started vacationing in Maine many years ago, renting an assortment of houses. There was always something lacking about those houses so we finally bought our own and set out to make it just the way we would want it for our guests. Over the last 12 years we have gotten a lot of positive feedback and have happily incorporated suggestions for improvement.
Kent and Debbie purchased this house in 2003
This house is our first rental property. We bought this house in March of 2003 and have made many changes and upgrades. Many changes were made to accommodate suggestions made by our guests. We have learned a lot and think you will enjoy the benefits of our experience.
From the moment we first e-mailed Kent and Debbie for the possibility of spending the Columbus Day weekend of 2007 at "All Moosed Home" they were very welcoming!
My husband, son and I thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend along with our 2 Golden Retrievers. Much attention has been given to updating comfort and convenience but also keeping the wonderful rustic charm!
We enjoyed the pin-ball machine and other games!
We also enjoyed walking in the neighborhood and sitting on the peaceful, private dock! It was perfect at All times of the day!
I think our younger Golden Retriever said it perfectly with her actions as we were getting ready to leave.....I had taken one last walk with her & we came down the driveway to the packed car-As we approached the car, she detoured onto the steps leading onto the porch......she, like the rest of the family, really didn't want to leave "All Moosed Home!" We look forward to returning
at some time to this most wonderful vacation home!
We stayed at all moosed home with another family 7/16-7/23. The living room was comfortable with the AC and the HD TV. I loved having my coffee in the morning in the screened porch. The owner was responsive when small issues came up. We didn't use the kayak's or the Canoe but we did swim at the association beach and pool. Bridgton is a nice town and you are close to North Conway which we visited multiple times. I recommend All Moosed Home to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation with a lot of amenities.
I am a little slow in writing reviews. But this is one that couldn't be forgotten. It was a most memorable vacation. Our hosts thought of everything and were a phone call away if we had a question. We had a fabulous time with our adult children and our grandchildren. We all would of loved to have stayed longer but reality beckoned. We did venture out a few times, Storyland of course but we found all the peace and quiet we were seeking right there.
Our only regret was we never got around to using the telescope that was provided by our hosts. Some nights were cloudly and we were just so busy playing games, building puzzles and playing with the children that it was forgotten.
Again we thank Kent and Debbie for such a wonderful stay!
We had a wonderful time at All Moosed Home. The house was lovely, very clean, warm and inviting. When it was sunny (and we had a lot of good days) we went to the beach or lounged by the pool as the kids swam and made new friends. When it rained we played pinball, Ms Pac Man, watched movies, did art projects on the screened in porch and visited North Conway for great shopping. Kent & Debbie were very responsive and attentive. As I said, a perfect family vacation. Thank you Debbie & Kent!
This was our first vacation home rental, and it was a huge success, thanks to the Robergs. Our family of 4 (mom, dad, 6 year old, and 8 month old) spent a summer week here and we had a blast. The house is very well equipped--they've thought of everything, including paper products (toilet tissue, paper towels, napkins), pots, pans, utensils for cooking and eating, comfy beds and furniture, cable TV and wireless internet. It was as described on the website. The owner is very meticulous and detail oriented when sending all the arrival, stay, and departure information, and we referenced his materials quite a bit while there. We felt right at home in the house, and we were able to relax and enjoy an area of the country we've never seen before.
The pool at the association is very well-maintained, the lake beach front is a short 2 minute walk from the house and is also lovely. Big sandy beach, float out in the middle, etc. We enjoyed canoeing and fishing using the equipment that comes with the house (they even have the lifejackets!). The lake itself is serene and beautiful, and the north end, where the house is located, doesn't have much boat traffic at all, so it's nice and quiet. You are a short drive to Bridgton, with antique shops and a quirky little museum that we thoroughly enjoyed. We ate at the Campfire Grille (fun place, great Smore's martini), got seafood from Highland Seafood (so much lobster!), and had pizza at Lake Region HOP. We enjoyed them all. The weather could have been better for some of the days, but we loved the extensive DVD library, the puzzles and games, the decks of cards, etc., that the Robergs have on hand. The property is actually 3 lots--the one the house is on, the one next door that has a little stream and an open grassy area (we played Wiffle ball there), and across the street, a pathway that leads to the dock with the canoes and kayaks. You're not on top of the neighbors, and it's very quiet. Lovely!
Overall, a great experience in a comfy home.
We spent a week at All Moosed Home and had a wonderful time. The house has all the amenities a family needs and the location is fantastic. We used the kayaks/canoes and the nearby beach on a daily basis; the scenery is spectacular. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for the ideal vacation home.
We are located on the north basin of Moose Pond (north of 302) in the town of Bridgton. We are about five miles outside of the town shopping district.
Ski: Shawnee Peak is a five minute drive from our door. Google Shawnee Peak to see its many fine features. Cross country skiers have quick access to the Bridgton area snowmobile and ski trails. A short stretch on Moose Pond will get you to the entrance of the well marked and maintained system of trails.
