Buster Brown better than even expected!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Buster Brown Shoe House! It accommodated our large family easily with plenty of space to spare! The owner came over to introduce himself to us and was very hospitable. The house was clean and had everything we needed. We will definitely be back!!
The Buster Brown Shoe House was wonderful! We had a great time, and enjoyed all the house had to offer. We would like to thank David for sharing his family home, the lake view was wonderful to wake up to every morning. Would recommend to anyone who just wants a quite vacation. Thanks again!
Great Vacation Home Option
Love this house. This was our second rental of this home. Great size for our group of 18 (17 adults). Plenty of room to share meals together. Close to all the activites we wanted to do on our trip. Great access to the water for our kayaks too. Decently stocked kitchen, new towels in the bathroom and overall clean!! Owners are great to work with. Would recommend this home to anyone heading to the area.
The house was great! There was plenty of room for all 12 family members and the view of the lake was beautiful. We enjoyed our stay and vacation in the Buster Brown House!
Great House by the Lake
Our large, extended family (ages 6 mo. - 82) stayed at the Buster Brown House for a week. It was extremely spacious with lots to do for all ages. The ping pong and pool tables were popular with the younger set and the older folks enjoyed sitting on the closed in porch. The large tv in the sunroom kept the video game lovers entertained. The house had a lot of character and a cool history which Dave, the owner, shared with us. It was close to the lake and we enjoyed watching the sunsets at night.
The kitchen was well stocked with cooking utensils and there was an extra fridge in the garage which was great for our large group. We enjoyed gathering around the fire pit in the evening to talk and make s’mores.
Dave was great with communication and stopped by to make sure we had what we needed. He even mailed back a Yeti we left in the dishwasher!
The location was great. In addition to being by the lake it was close to all the local attractions with easy access to highways.
We would highly recommend going to the Gathering Grounds coffee shop if you like coffee, the Huron Pizza Shop for pizza and the Twin Oast Brewery in Port Clinton if you like beer!
I only have one small recommendation for improvement, it would be nice to have at least two keys to the house. When you have a group as large as ours you are bound to have groups going different directions at times. Being city dwellers, we weren’t comfortable just leaving the house unlocked.
We would highly recommend this house to anyone visiting the area and we would stay here again if we come back!
