When we first saw the pictures of this house on the rental web site, we have to admit it looked too good to be true. But this home lives up to expectations in every possible way. You really feel like you are stepping into the pages of "House Beautiful" magazine.
But more importantly, everything is arranged to make it very easy to settle in easily on our arrival. We immediately felt comfortable there. The house is fully equipped and very well organized. Things that you need are almost always where you'd guess they'd be. Also, there's a large three ring binder full of handy information, from rubbish pickups to beach info, to restaurant menus, to local sightseeing and activities info.
We are originally from Cape Cod, so we feel we are spoiled as far as beaches go, but we fell in love with Silvershell Beach, Marion's town beach. Our grandkids had a ball there, and we loved watching all the sailboats going in and out of the harbor (We also loved watching them from the deck at the house every evening). And most nights (and some
mornings) the "walk to the point" was a relaxing way to get some exercise and enjoy the spectacular scenery.
We are grateful for our three week stay here. It was a vacation to remember.
This is an extraordinary property! It is a perfect house in an ideal location. Four beautiful bedrooms each have amazing views, and the outside areas (screened/ decked) facing the Bay provided beautiful places to gather for coffee, cocktails or downtime. It is as good or better than the pictures. At every turn, the house is immaculate, decor top-notch, and a kitchen to die for. Everything was more than comfortable for 8+ adults. We easily fit into the living room for games and at the large table for meals. For early risers, the house is almost soundproof and the neighborhood quiet and very private. We used this house as a pivot point to visit Newport, Cape Cod, Boston and CN. It was perfect. The owner takes great pride in the property and she should! I highly recommend it.
While recently hosting my family for our daughter's high school graduation we rented this lovely home. Everything is as beautiful as the photos depict. We really enjoyed the living room, the kitchen, and the table tennis / pool table in the basement. Every bedroom was extremely comfortable and well-decorated. We had young children and older grandparents and everyone enjoyed a fantastic vacation.
Although it is a small beach the view is incredible and we enjoyed watching sailing regattas from the beach during happy hour.
Be sure to rent your kayaks or Stand up Paddleboards from Roy at Nemasket Kayak Center nearby. He delivers and offers 3 day or 1 week specials.
Also very easy is the steamed lobsters from the Stop and Shop in Fairhaven. We catered 2 big family dinners in one week from their seafood dept.!
The owner is extremely helpful in providing any assistance required to make your stay more comfortable. All in all a fantastic week at the beach.
My family has been staying at this property for years and this home is a truly excellent rental. The other reviews say it all: it's a beautiful home, the kitchen is well-equipped and a pleasure to cook in, and it is a very short walk down to the water. Also, the owner is a real professional. The house has been perfectly maintained through the years and Maggie, the owner, is always available and responsive if needed. My wife and I have stayed in many rentals through the years and this one really stands out.
I stayed at this gorgeous house for my high school reunion with a bunch of girl friends. From the moment I walked into the house, I knew it was going to be difficult to leave! The house itself is spectacular, open and airy with large rooms and a perfect spot on the shores of Sippican Harbor. I loved sitting on the expansive deck and watching the schooner SSV Tabor Boy sail by several times a day. The house is outfitted with anything you could need. The owner is clearly an avid chef, and the kitchen is stocked with every type of pot, tray, bowl, glass, utensil that you could possibly need for cooking and entertaining. I loved that the fireplace had wood in it ready to go (the weekend we were there was actually unusually chilly for June). There was a ton of extra wood, newspaper and kindling in the garage, and to have a fire going at night was just awesome. The mattresses, pillows and linens are all top notch...absolutely no need to bring your own. Bedrooms all have beautiful views, so everyone who stays in the home is guaranteed a lovely room. I truly felt so fortunate to be able to stay in this home...the owners have thought of everything, from high end soaps in every bathroom to throw blankets on each chair in the living room (again, perfect when sitting by the fire!). Tons of games, DVDs, bikes and helmets, anything and everything you need for your stay, whether with family or friends! I hope I have an occasion to stay again soon!
We have just returned from a lovely stay in this welcoming home. We decided to bring in the New Year on a quiet note with dear friends.
My husband and I have rented many homes throughout our years of travel. We have high standards when renting and fortunately, we have had very good luck in our choices. In this case, I must say the home was a perfect rental!
I loved, loved, loved the fact that it was very organized, very clean and really comfortable.
Though we only cooked one main meal there, it had everything we needed. There was no hunting, or sifting through drawers at meal prep time, it was there in the most logical spot!
We were not at all disappointed in the properties location. Though it was a winter trip, a water view was important. We were quite happy to discover a view from just about every room!
We did brave a crisp walk down to a small private beach in front of the property and a jaunt around the neighborhood and town. It was very picturesque! Not hard to imagine a summer visit here.
The owners were helpful and only a text away with any questions or recommendations we had. Thank you Maggie. A five star rating...well deserved.
