Pine Island was absolutely a paradise. So remote and yet, everything you need within a 10 minute drive. Deep sea fishing..fun!! The sunsets from the upper deck were the best we have ever seen. The house was very comfortable, the most romantic get away. (copied from our guest book)
Great place for family to relax and just enjoy time together. The beach is close and clean. Our 8 & 10 year olds enjoyed the beach and kayaking over the manatees more than the 2 days we spent at Disney. House is great for family, beautiful view of ocean and sunset from top deck.
I've stayed in this home five times. Love the quiet, uncrowded island vibe. Even though the house is probably a bit bigger than we need to rent [just two of us], it suits our needs perfectly. Fantastic kitchen, great master bedroom [with two separate bathrooms attached], and a very accommodating/responsive homeowner. It really has become our quiet little corner of paradise...
[by the way, if you like to golf, two courses that are in the Top 10 for all of Florida are an easy 15 mile drive to the north].
House was clean and design is good for vacation and entertaining guest! We rented for Christmas and had a Christmas Eve event with a few guest. They loved the pool table and game area. My son rented it a couple of years ago and we will probably rent it again in years to come. The only disadvantage is the Stairs to enter the house are very steep and high. Needs a small elevator.
Very nice stay on Pine Island. The property was very nice and as described. We really had no issues at all. It was just my husband and I and we did end up having the Thanksgiving Day meal there which was very nice. Extended family really enjoyed the hammock and all of the additional space. There are 28 steps to go up to enter the home, I should have realized this with it being on stilts, and it was not really an issue, my 89 year-old grandma did just fine!
Our family of five enjoyed staying in Sonia and Gary's beautiful Pine Island home. The home was clean and ready for our arrival. The pool table was a hit! The Gulf and island views from the master bedroom are stunning. It's only a short walk to the private beach access on the next street or to the park down the road, which is where we usually went. The neighbor was very friendly and even brought in our trash can one day when we were away. My family really enjoys the dolphins that regularly come to the island. One day they swam so close to my husband that he could have reached out and touched them. I would definitely recommend this property.
Spacious home with beautiful wood floors, a large open floor plan, awesome pool table and two wrap around decks with a lovely view of the Gulf of Mexico. Well furnitured, with a great selection of books. The kitchen had everything we needed to feel very much at home.
LOTs of stairs to keep your heart pumping! The beach is more "rustic nature" than beach, but perfect for a pina colada and a sunset. The fishing and bird watching can't be beat. Very close to Weeki Wachee Springs, which offers kayaking down one of the most beautiful rivers in Florida.
Ate out twice, once at the Bayport Inn and then at Becky Jack's Seafood Shak. Both are good "fried" seafood joints. Would recommend that you eat outside if you go to the Bayport Inn and enjoy the view.
Owners were quick to respond to any questions and made the overall experience of renting very simple overall. Would highly recommend to my own family and friends :)
Charters available locally for offshore fishing. This area is known for world class tarpon fishing in May and June, and scalloping in July and August.
