This rental is a very charming and newly renovated - 2nd story, one bedroom, one bath condo with a balcony overlooking a lush, colorful garden. It is located in the most desirable, quiet neighborhood of Santa Monica close to Montana Avenue with all of its lovely shops and restaurants.
The unit has an open floor plan with a nice entry, a large living room area with a cozy sofa bed, writing desk, flat screen TV with cable, stereo, landline and WIFI. The separate dining area has a charming white wooden table with seating for 4. There are hardwood floors throughout the unit protected with stylish sisal rugs and the entire unit is well appointed with high-quality antiques, calming artwork, books and magazines.
The full, upgraded kitchen has all the necessary appliances including a gas stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker and side-by-side refrigerator and if finished with soapstone counter tops. Do laundry at your leisure with the in unit washer/dryer – soap and dryer sheets to get you started -- iron and board.
The condo is also within walking distance to Palisades Park -- beautiful walk path, rose garden and views of Santa Monica Bay to Malibu -- the world famous 3rd Street Promenade, Santa Monica Pier and beach, bike rental shops and a great Farmer's Markets on Wednesday’s and Saturday’s.
Please note: Our Southern California weather is almost always perfect. We do have a couple of months in the summer time when it warms up. We do have a ceiling fan in the bedroom and a standing fan as well to help circulate the air. If AIR CONDITIONING (A/C) is a “must have” for your visit, please know that we DO NOT have central air.
A one-car, private parking garage MAY be available to rent. Please inquire if you are interested.

We escape the frigid Canadian winter for a month each year. This rental was perfect in so many ways. 1. The spacious well-furnished rooms let us settle in comfortably, even my newspaper columnist husband who spreads his documents everywhere. The kitchen is well-equipped and there is LOTS of storage space in the super-quiet bedroom and the bright large bathroom. 2. The location cannot be beat, close to the ocean and Pacific Palisades park, to the Third street promenade with its many shops, big bookstore and bi-weekly farmer's market, and to Montana Avenue with its elegant spas and boutiques. 3. The nearby Aero Theatre, home of the American Cinematheque, with directors often present to talk about their films to the knowledgeable audience. 4. Restaurants: in Santa Monica we love Santa Monica Seafood and Obica best. In nearby Beverly Hills, we go often to Willy's wine bar and Café Bouchon. 5. The Manager: so professional, smart and welcoming. She responded instantly to whatever came up: a defective coffee maker was replaced the same day, an extra table (for documents) was there when we arrived. We happily give a top star recommendation to this place, and look forward to renting it again in future years.
Truly enjoyed our Montana stay while our apartment across town was being renovated. Loved the neighborhood and the walk to the cliffs at sunset. An array of exceptional shops and restaurants in an easy walk. The apartment was sweet and charming and instantly felt like home. Great layout and lovely furnishings. Very quiet which we liked. Cynthia made it easy to rent and greeted us promptly and graciously settled us in. She was a great hostess and available for questions. Loved the little extras provided. Would recommend and stay again if the need arose. We miss our nest in the treetops.
When visiting Santa Monica, or it's surrounding area, this is the perfect place to stay.
Just like the peaceful beauty of Southern California, this VRBO unit stands out among other nearby rental units for it's own beauty. After entering thru a low white picket fence, you are met with an explosion of colorful and various species of flowers, bushes and trees. A peaceful oasis indeed!
The unit itself is very welcoming with it's own beauty, charm, more than adequate seating and attention to detail. There are extra folding chairs in the large storage closet if needed. The kitchen is thoughtfully well stocked with cooking utensils, pots and pans, dishes, glasses of all kinds, etc.
But why cook when you are literally steps away from an array of fine and casual restaurants!
The area also offers many service stores such as drug stores, banks, grocery stores, spa's, hair and nail salons, etc. All within walking distance. Yet, this unit is nicely insulated against any neighborhood or traffic noise.
The July weather did have some very warm days but I found that the windows on both sides of the unit, along with the fan over the bed, allowed the Pacific's ocean breezes to flow thru the unit and I was able to sleep comfortably.
I was very happy and definitely felt safe staying in this rental.
Cynthia Gates, the property manager, was attentive, available but not intrusive.
You cannot make a mistake in renting this well maintained unit where you can literally stop and smell the roses!
This is the perfect place to stay in Santa Monica. A beautifully maintained apartment with a lovely balcony, where you can enjoy early morning sunlight and tranquil afternoons. Walking distance to the beach, Santa Monica shopping, Whole Foods, and many wonderful restaurants and cafés. Cynthia's sense of hospitality and attention to details is perfect. She was always available to answer questions and help out with details. I give this place my most heartfelt recommendation.
The apartment has a great location, 2 mins walk from shops and restaurants on Montana Ave and 10 mins walk from beach. It's spotlessly clean, and furnished and equipped amazingly, especially the kitchen which we wished we could take home with us. We were looking for a holiday home away from home to revive us in the middle of a long road trip, and it fit the bill exactly. Cynthia looked after us really well and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. Would recommend to anyone wanting to try life as a Santa Monica local.
My husband and I stayed here twice. It is so warm and comfortable, we immediately feel at home. We enjoy the walks we can take to the beach or the shops on Montana. It is always clean and well maintained.
I would recommend this rental to anyone.
