We as a family live in the upper part of the house and we use our own front door.We rent the apartment for over 20 years and a lot of guests return over and over. Liesbeth spent her childhood in the house and our children already left for their studies and independed life.
My husband is working in a hospital as a pediatric surgeon and I am a retired Montessori teacher.
Our 3 children are bussy with their study in Amsterdam.
We lived in new York while my husband was working as a childrens oncologist. We like to share our house with people from other countries. We use VRBO often our selves and think that it is very nice to live like locals in different places in the world.
Liesbeth purchased this apartment in 1964
In august we have the gay parade in front of our house, on Kings- day (april 27) the free market is all around us, In winter time you can skate on the canal in front.
The garden is an extra area to sit, drink, smoke and eat in summer time.
The bread specialist is around the corner, the flee-market and daily market are on walking distance........and so on, please see by yourself.
Most guests love to live like a 'local'
This part of the city is one of the most friendly and beautiful ones.
boats passing by, cafee's with people sitting outside enjoying the sun.
The houses on this canal make you feel like walking around in a museum.
IN THE SUMMER MONTHS I PREFER TO BOOK PER WEEK (S)
My husband and I rented Liesbeth's vacation apartment for a week in September. The apartment was spotless and it had everything we needed for our short stay. I especially loved the splash of red bedding and pillows that adorned the bed, where we would lay our heads at the end of the busy days! I simply could not take enough photos of the canal and the boats from the front door of Liesbeth's home. The hub of Amsterdam is approximately a 15 minute walk and we made the decision earlier rather than later, to put our legs to the test and enjoy all that the city had to offer and we were not disappointed. We had a wonderful visit with Liesbeth during our stay. She was very friendly, kind and helpful in making our stay the very best it could be. She called a taxi for us the night before we left Amsterdam, which gave us some peace of mind. Thank you for a delightful week Liesbeth.
My husband and I just returned from a wonderful two-week vacation in Amsterdam. We rented Liesbeth's cosy one-bedroom apartment which greatly added to our enjoyment of this particular classy area of Amsterdam. We found Liesbeth to be very warm, caring, friendly and accommodating. We felt very secure and comfortable in the apartment while enjoying all that it has to offer in the way of modern appliances. The canal/street was well lighted throughout the evening/night. Having the Prinsengracht Canal outside our windows afforded us great views of the continuous parade of various-sized boats touring the canal.
If you are considering a visit to Amsterdam and plan to rent an apartment, have no hesitation about renting from Liesbeth.
My husband and I stayed at this wonderful apartment April 10 - 16, 2016. What a great find! Lisabeth met us upon our arrival, showed us all around, and was available if we had any questions throughout the week. The location is perfect and the apartment was just what we were hoping for. It has easy street access and is right on a lovely canal. The neighborhood is quaint and quiet, but there is plenty of restaurants, stores, pubs, and parks within easy walking distance. A grocery store is just around the corner which we really appreciated and there are some really great restaurants within a few minutes walk. Public transportation is easy to use and the tram is just a 2 minute walk. The apartment was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable. The little garden area off the bedroom was a nice feature and just beginning to bloom while we were there. The kitchen was more than adequate for light cooking and I really appreciated the use of the washing machine! The WiFi worked with no problems so we were able to keep connection with the family back home. I would highly recommend this property and if we ever return to Amsterdam (which I hope to do someday), we would love to come back to this location.
Well, the fact that this was my 11th year at this flat speaks volumes! It has become home for me. It is in a beautiful residential area and within walking distance of so many, many places. The view out your living room windows of the canal traffic is wonderful. I cannot imagine "living" any place else in AMS.
Try it,and you, too will love it. Liesbeth is warm and welcoming. You couldn't do better than to stay here.
The apartment was clean, well equipped for our 4 night stay, the bed was very comfortable. It was as advertised. Elisabeth was very friendly and welcoming. The unit was ready on our arrival. It is located within a 30 minute walk of central station and only about 15 minutes from where most of our tours started. We enjoyed the view of the canal out the front window. We always felt secure and safe in this neighbourhood. There were restaurants, bistros and bakeries nearby. The WiFi worked well.
We stayed here for 3 nights over a weekend in the beginning of July. Although Liesbeth was going to be out of town her representative Roxanne met us at the apartment as we arrived at 10 am. We were able to leave our luggage while the apt was cleaned as the prior guest had just checked out. We returned a couple of hours later and finalized the check in process with Roxanne who was a pleasure to talk to and kind enough to answer all our questions and concerns. The apartment is located in a very quiet area on Prinsengracht which we really appreciated once we visited the busier areas of the city center. There are numerous tram stops within a few blocks and you could walk to many of the attractions if you desire as well. A supermarket is located one block away. The interior was adequate space for a couple we didn't do any cooking but the kitchen was clean and the bathroom shower had good pressure and hot water. The bedroom was a little tight on space and opened up to a backyard with a patio that you could sit and relax. The one thing that for me personally that I wish could have been a little better was the lighting in the apartment even when you turned all of them on it still wasn't enough. We did get to meet Liesbeth and her son on the day we departed and all in all it was a great stay and would definitely stay again.
