Tammy, Reservation Mgr purchased this condo in 1999
I lived in San Diego for 8 years and loved the sunshine and warm weather. A job change brought me to the midwest. I still long for the warm winters and beautiful ocean views. We'll be back to live here. In the meantime you can enjoy the condo and make it your home away from home. A place to relax, a place to have fun, a place to remember!
Oceanside is a wonderful place to stay. It is not near the craziness of Pacific Beach and yet offers one of the best public beaches in the country. Surf contests are frequently held at this beach. Wind surfers, boats, sea lions, you name are seen from the balcony. We love to bring a bottle of wine, some cheese and watch the beautiful sunsets. You can enjoy them as much as we do!
Oceanside Beach is mere steps away, no streets to cross! We are the only complex that was allowed to be built "on the sand", which makes us so very unique! It is so wonderful to be able to walk through the complex and right to the beach.
Had a great time. Great location. Condo was quite nice. Only complaint is slow elevators, and one was inop during check out.
Thanks for all your help.
This condo was awesome! Very cool beach decor and the view from the rooftop deck was beautiful!! Very short walk to the beach-you walk through the complex right to the sand! The grounds are gorgeous and the pool is great too. Beats a hotel stay by far. Will definitely stay here again.
First the positive things about the stay: The location is very nice. It's a short walk to get to the beach. The view from the upstairs balcony attached to the upstairs bedroom is good. You have a view of the ocean although the condo itself is not one of the ones that is very close to the ocean. We were able to walk to several restaurants in Oceanside and the coaster train is close by to take to San Diego.
Some negative things about the condo:
While the view from the upstairs balcony is nice, the main balcony we used was the downstairs one since that is off the main living area of the condo (the upstairs is only a bedroom). The view from the downstairs balcony is of the street and the trains come by fairly often through the day which is pretty loud. Good thing we have a 4 year old boy who absolutely loved that part, but if we were on a relaxing vacation without kids the routine train traffic wouldn't be a plus.
The condo wasn't super clean. The first morning I took a coffee mug out of the cabinet and there was a dead bug in it. Later in the stay I opened the drawer with utensils and a live bug was crawling around the forks.
There was no bath soap at all in the condo. I'd expect at least a small bar soap or some body wash could be left for guests. These aren't the types of things that people usually pack and I don't really want to run to Walmart at 10pm to get it after driving 6 hours.
There was also no laundry soap that I could find anywhere in the condo or in the complex. I needed to do a load of laundry so ended up just running it through with just water.
This complex (North Coast Village) has many, many units for vacation rentals. You can just search North Coast Village to find all the rentals in this complex. Since the location was very nice, I'd probably stay at the complex again, but maybe try a different unit and hope for a cleaner unit with a few more amenities provided.
The condo was very spacious and included an upstairs bedroom with walk out patio that faces the beach. The lower level features another bedroom with 2 queen beds. The living room was comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with many things needed to cook meals. The views from the upper patio were spectacular and sleeping was wonderful at night with the cool ocean breeze filling the condo. The sound of the waves crashing on the beach coupled with an early morning cup of coffee or late evening drink all the more relaxing. The condo is very clean and well maintained with plenty of linens and towels. All the amenities of home were present and we had a very enjoyable time.
We enjoy our yearly visit to North Coast Village. This condo is perfect for our family of six with the Master suite upstairs and two queen beds downstairs for the kids. We've enjoyed many evenings on the deck listening to the ocean and looking at the stars. Every year we look forward to our relaxing vacation at the beach. The owners of the condo are great and always make sure we're happy with our stay.
