Fisherman's Village in the private gated community of Playacar, right next to the town of Playa del Carmen. It's perfect for two couples with a king and a split-king in the 2nd bedroom OR a family because the split king can also be two twin beds.

Fisherman's Village is a luxurious beachfront condominium complex with just 60 units in the quiet coastal community of Playacar just a 10 minute walk to Playa del Carmen. Fisherman's Village is known to be the nicest quality resort/condo complex in the entire Yucatan Peninsula for it's elegance, fine service, and resort-like amenities such as a full service restaurant, room service, swim-up pool bar, full sized pool and a children's pool, water sports, jacuzzis for the complex, air conditioned gym, Spa services such as massage, facials, pedicures and manicures too.

My unit in Fisherman's Village is furnished with hand-carved Mexican furniture, paintings from local artisans and soft 300 thread count cotton linens. The other two are furnished slightly differently, but all with excellent taste in decor.

The entire upper floor is the Master Suite with huge picture windows out to the Sea. The bottom level features 2nd bedroom, bath, kitchen, living, half bath and dining areas and a large balcony overlooking the pool, beach and ocean. At night you can stand on any of the units balconies and see the twinkling lights of Cozumel across the Caribbean.

One NEW feature of Fisherman's Village is an optional Meal Plan. This is your option which can be decided after you arrive at the complex and used one day, but not the next if you choose. Free for all guest's use at Fisherman's Village are the bicycles, kayaks, boogie boards and snorkel gear! It's a fabulous place for adults and kids alike.

Playa Del Carmen is located just 40 minutes South of Cancun and offers the same powdery white sand and turquoise waters, great restaurants and shopping-- without crowds of wild Spring Break partiers and towering hotels. In fact, Playa has a building height restriction to a maximum of 3 stories!

Fisherman's Village is just a 10 minute walk along quiet cobblestone roads or the beach to the town of Playa del Carmen. Also within a short walk is the 18 hole golf course, tennis courts, the local aviary, and the ferry that takes you over to Cozumel. Most guests do not rent a car during their stay except days they wish to explore other areas of the Yucatan. If you plan on lounging on the beach, shopping and eating out in Playa del Carmen, maybe taking the ferry to Cozumel one day-- you may not want a car the entire time. We can recommend reliable airport transportation to and from Cancun International to Fisherman's Village.

As passionate as I am about the mountains, I missed the beach so much I bought this 2 Bedroom/2.5 bth penthouse in 1996. Playa del Carmen is so much prettier and fun than the beaches of Southern California! If you have never been down there, feel free to call me. We love to vacation here ourselves. Our boys have grown up at Fisherman's, learned to swim here and boogie boarded the first time in the beach in front of this property. We love the fact that our resort offers Hobie Cats, Paddleboards, kayaks, and other activities like beach or aqua volleyball.

There are butterflies, an aviary full of birds, ghost crabs, iguanas and lots of exploring to do. Mom and Dad like to swim, bicycle and relax but occasionally take in a seaside massage that is offered by Fisherman's Village. We also love the town of Playa del Carmen...5th Avenue is really fun for shopping and dining.

Couldn't have spent a more enjoyable 10 days in an area I truly love. The proximity to downtown Playa makes this even more delightful. You can walk to almost every corner of town including the wonderful area of Playacar II, the ferry to Cozumel, and any of the myriad of restaurants that Playa has to offer. The staff and Pamela provided us with a comfortable stay at every level.

Beautiful Ocean View Condo

We will be returning to this wonderful penthouse condo again this February! Pamela is a delight to work with. She provided us with information for a very efficient and economical private car service to and from the property. The car service allowed us to stop at a local supermarket so that we could pick up some provisions. Pamela also provided us with some restaurant recommendations which we found very helpful. The property is spacious, clean, well maintained and nicely appointed. We would make breakfast and lunch in the unit every day and everything we needed was there. It has a beautiful balcony overlooking the beach where we would love to relax and watch the stars in the evening. The staff at the resort are friendly and helpful. The property is far enough from town to feel secluded but close enough to easily walk for meals or shopping. We highly recommend!

Beautiful Location - Highly Recommend!!

Stayed at the owner's other unit here two years ago with my family as penthouse was booked. We absolutely loved it. Beach was beautiful. Was the perfect location - could easily walk into town on street or on the beach or take a very short inexpensive cab ride. Loved that the location was quiet but for anyone looking for nightlife it is very close. We only ate at the resort once and it was OK but we preferred to go into town and Pamela , the owner was extremely helpful recommending restaurants and we also tried some places folks we talked to recommended. All were delicious.The condo was absolutely beautiful - so spacious for our family of four and had everything we needed. Very clean and well maintained. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly as well. We also took her recommendation for a driver from the airport. Was a little pricier than a cab would have been but took advantage of the fact that he would stop at store before we got there so we were able to buy drinks and breakfast food and snacks prior to our arrival which was great. Not a lot to do at the resort although we did use the kayaks but we were not looking to do a lot on the days we stayed there. We did a day trip to Cozumel which was awesome and spent a day at Xel-Ha which was awesome. We only rented a car for a few days that we knew we were venturing out but was great that Hertz was so close. We loved it so much that we are heading back this April and will be staying in the penthouse unit.

Great condo on the water

The condo was great and the staff were all very nice. Lovely setup for sitting on the beach in front of the restaurant. A short walk to 5th Ave shops, the Cozumel Ferry and Hertz car rental. We rented a car and drove to the Coba ruins one day, and explored Dos Ojos cenote another.

Fabulous Property!!!

We stayed very comfortably for a week at this lovely condo and never got tired of the views we got to wake up to. The weather was hot so we spent alot of time relaxing on the resort loungers on the beach where the breeze kept us cool. From there we would just wade out into that gorgeous turquoise water to hang out and chat while the kids played nearby.

The resort staff were friendly, fun and helpful; they got us set up with tons of towels everyday and fins for snorkeling at Akumal, a nearby town, where they take their turtle conservation very seriously. We also traveled down to tour the ruins and town at Tulum which is an easy hop from the condo as well!

We walked into town and had some really nice dinners in Playa every night of our stay. The condo was well set up to cook in which we did for breakfasts and lunch; there are many large grocery stores in town or street vendors with food carts which was all really convienent.

The kids had a blast playing beach volleyball at the resort and pool games with other guests; everyone seemed to be enjoying their holiday at Fishermans! We certainly did and would highly recommend the condo and resort to anyone considering staying in the area.

If you like history, there are some major Mayan Ruin sites in the Yucatan penisula. There are dive shops in Playa del Carmen as well as Cozumel- just take the ferry over to Cozumel (45 min). My condo is just a 10 min walk to the ferry!
