Overview

About the property

Western NY Country Home 3 BR 1.5 BA Close to Holiday Valley & more

In the country, yet close to everything...Holiday Valley skiing, Seneca Allegheny Casino, horse accommodations! Alden's acres is on 30 acres in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains of Western New York. The land is comprised of open meadows overlooking the mountains, a 1 acre pond and plenty of hills for hiking. The house is a three bedroom, 1-1/2 bath ranch with plenty of space for eight + sleeper sofa. It has two large decks with plenty of furniture and a grill. It comes fully furnished; in fact, all you need to bring is your clothes and your horse, if you wish.

There are plenty of things to do, summer and winter, without leaving Alden's Acres: hiking, short horse rides, fishing, hunting, picture taking, etc. Less than 10 miles from: skiing at Holiday Valley, golfing, swimming or shopping in Ellicottville, gambling at the new Seneca Allegheny Casino, hiking or horseback riding at the Allegheny State Park. 35 min. from Lake Chautauqua's southern tier.

We've got the perfect house for family get togethers, reunions, graduation parties and more! Tons of room to park, spread out, camp and have fun. We even have room for large campers!

Additional Information: We have a barn for stabling your horses, and are minutes from 90 miles of groomed bridle trails in the Allegany State Park.

We've recently added a few things for rainy days...an arcade quality 'Golden Tee' golf simulation game upstairs and a shuffleboard and foosball tables.

There is so much to do for the entire family, many of our renters return again and again! We are seven miles from Holiday Valley Ski Resort & our rates beat those in town. We're 8 miles from the quaint town of Ellicottville, with restaurants and shopping galore. Is gambling or antiquing your idea of fun? We are within five miles of The Seneca Allegheny Casino and several of Western New York's largest antique malls.

One reason some people return over again is to simply do nothing. Relax. Unwind. You get the idea.

Wood burning stove & firewood; fully equipped kitchen: microwave, extra frig, coffee maker, dishwasher, toaster; Washer/Dryer, 2 TV/VCRs, Dish network, movie library, stereo, phone w/Internet hookup; bed linens, towels, down comforters, outdoor furniture, picnic table, shuffleboard table, gas grill, access to barn upon request.

Activities: Skiers paradise - minutes from NY's prime ski resort Holiday Valley. Like to gamble? The Seneca Allegany Casino is less than 10 minutes away!!! 30 min. from Lake Chautauqua's institute, boating & jet skiing. Within 4 miles of a few of New York's largest antique malls. Mountain bike the ski resort in summer-lift up and ride down. Beautiful golf course at the base of the Holiday Valley Ski Resort mountains. Minutes from 90 miles of bridle trails, boating, bird watching, etc at the Allegany National Forest. Tons of Ellicottville activities, festivals, concerts and events throughout the year.

Area: We are 6.

miles from Holiday Valley Ski Resort. We are 10 minutes from the quaint town of Ellicottville's shopping, restaurants and nightlife. We are 4 miles from the Seneca Allegany Casino. We are a 3 hour drive from Cleveland; 4 hours from Pittsburgh, and 1 hour south of Buffalo.

About Nancy Coveleskie

We are from Ohio. I grew up in Chardon, which was just a small town at the time and my husband grew up on the west side of Cleveland. When we were first married, we often went to a friend's house on Lake Cassadaga and loved it.

Nancy Coveleskie purchased this house in 2001

Why Nancy Coveleskie chose New York

My husband was a firefighter and was always flipping houses. He decided when our kids were born that it was time to find a house where we could enjoy ourselves as a family. We knew we wanted a place to relax away from the city. We live in the outer suburbs of Cleveland, but we can barely see the stars at night! We felt drawn to Alden's Acres the minute we stepped foot on the property. It was a clear, crisp and sunny January day. The snow was so pristine. We took one look at the view of the meadow and knew we wanted to come here for years to come.

The gentleman who originally owned the property was Alden Klawitter. We named the home after him. His hats are still hanging in the garage by the steps (please don't move them). And the road at the end of Porter Hollow Road is named Klawitter Road after Alden. The neighbors spoke so highly of him; I wish I could have met him.

What makes this house unique

We are away from it all! While we are only 10 minutes from Ellicottville and Holiday Valley and even closer to the casino and Allegany State Park, you'll feel like you are in your own private hideaway while at Alden's Acres.

Guestbook comments from the owner

I truly want to express my gratitude for the use of the lovely rental home you have established. the view from the back of the property is spectacular! I was a property manager for 6 years and therefore realize how much effort it takes to make the rental process a convenient & enjoyable experience. You really have it down to a fine science!

This was a wonderful place to stay, and we went off-season; I don't even ski. The owners were very accomodating, available, and very nice, even with last minute changes to our reservations, my parents dog needed to accompany us. We are looking forward to our next trip, and the property is beautiful.

Hidden Gem

  • 4 of 5

Overall my experience at Alden Acres was wonderful - I stayed here with 8 of my closest friends and family members for fall festival weekend. It is about a 10-15 minute drive from downtown Ellicottville. The house is located on several acres of land (30 I believe) and has a pond about 100 yards away. The grounds were gorgeous, as we stayed here during peak fall foliage. Nancy was incredibly responsive to any requests and was able to effectively resolve any issues we came across. I would definitely recommend this stay to anyone looking for a weekend get-away with friends! Thanks again!

Has Everything you need for a Ski Trpi

  • 5 of 5

The landlords were extremely easy to contact and respond quickly! The house has everything you need for a getaway and is only a short 12 minute drive away from Holiday Valley. The board games and Golden Tee were a hit for our group, and it has more than enough room to fit 10 comfortably. Highly recommend!

We visited this home for a family thanksgiving. The property is very serene and peaceful with beautiful views. The house contained everything we needed or wanted and is a short drive from Allegheny State Park as well as Ellicotville. The owners were very accommodating. I would recommend this home to anyone wanting a quiet getaway.

Have gone the past two years with my best friends. There is plenty of room for everyone and makes us all feel very comfortable. It is so close to the casino, skiing, shopping and restaurants. The nature hikes are an added plus. The owners always have the property ready for our arrival and are very nice. I would recommend this property for anytime of the year. You will never be bored.
