Welcome to PONDEROSA PINES CABIN: Relax in our cozy single story mountain cabin with detached studio apartment and private outdoor, in-ground pool (unheated) and hot tub (heated). You will have access to both cabin and studio when you stay at our property.

POOL: Summer days in Oakhurst can average in the high 90's to low 100's. The pool water is heated only by the sun so the water temperature stays between 75 and 80 degrees usually mid-June through Labor Day--AHHH--jump in, cool off and relax! The pool temperature after hot summer days only stays around 55 degrees--perfect if you are a polar bear--so now jump in the hot tub and relax!

CABIN: Our 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom cabin will sleep 4-5 guests total. There is a King size memory foam bed in the master bedroom that will sleep 2 guests and a Queen size sofa sleeper in the living room that will sleep an additional 2 guests. There is also a twin size roll-away bed in the game room closet for one more guest. We provide all linens, pillows, bedding, towels & soaps.

DETACHED STUDIO APARTMENT: Located 16 steps from the cabin is a detached studio apartment that will sleep an additional 2 guests on a Queen size bed. The studio apartment with screened-in porch (which overlooks the pool and hot tub) has its' own kitchenette and bathroom. It comes equipped with a 42" flat-screen HDTV with Roku and DVD player. Internet access is also available in the studio.

AMENITIES: The cabin has a large open kitchen/dining room/living room floor plan with spectacular two-story, wood-burning, rock fireplace (firewood provided for cold winter nights).

The kitchen comes fully equipped with all necessary appliances including oven, microwave, ceramic flat-top 4 burner stove, dishwasher, dishes, glassware, coffee maker, toaster, blender, assorted plug-in appliances, pots, pans & basic condiments. Propane BBQ available outside on kitchen deck.

Living room has a 40" HDTV with satellite and DVD player.

There is also a large game room with foosball table, mini 4 foot pool table, games, puzzles and a 55" HDTV with satellite and DVD player. Game room is separated from master bedroom by 2 sliding barn doors.

You will have lots to do at our cabin after you visit Yosemite Valley:

---during the summer, swim in in-ground pool and cool off from our hot and sunny Sierra days

---relax and unwind in the hot tub after a long day hiking in Yosemite Valley and Bass Lake

---eat meals "al fresco" in the screened-in studio patio overlooking the pool and hot tub or in the gazebo off the pool deck

---sit by the two-story rock fireplace fall/winter/spring and enjoy a cozy fire that will warm your heart

---play Foosball, darts or games in the large game room and listen to music or watch TV

---play ping pong in the screened-in studio patio

---surf the internet with the WIFI in the cabin or studio apartment

---1 mile to town of Oakhurst for grocery shopping and restaurants and 5-screen movie theater

---15 minutes to Bass Lake for boating, swimming, fishing, picnicking and more

---10 minutes to River Creek 9-hole golf course

---20 minutes to Yosemite's southern gate at Mariposa Grove of Giant Redwoods

About Maureen Lucero

We've been buying and managing vacation homes in the Oakhurst area since 2008.

We have another vacation rental on the same street with hot tub and private heated indoor pool (seasonal). Sleeps up to 5 guests. See listing # 3176505 or reach out to me at

seven six zero, eight one five, one eight three seven

to discuss.

Maureen Lucero purchased this cabin in 2015

Why Maureen Lucero chose Oakhurst

We find it a challenge to buy neglected, abandoned homes and bring them back to "life".

What makes this cabin unique

Oakhurst can get very hot during the summer months (high 90's to low 100's) so having a private, in-ground pool for our guests to cool off in was a very important feature when we decided to buy this vacation home. The pool is swimable usually from mid-June to early September.

The southern entrance to Yosemite National Park is only 20 minutes from our home in Oakhurst, CA off Hwy 41 at the Mariposa Grove of Giant Redwoods. It is then another 45 minutes to the valley floor.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Favorite moments/special highlights: Waking my 10 year old up at 2 AM to watch the Perseid Meteor Shower pool side.

Also enjoyed seeing "Bull Buck" and "Big Ed" in Nelder Grove (giant redwoods).

What we did: Swam in the pool, sat in the hot tub, read books, watched the meteor shower, hiked in Nelder Grove, played foosball.

Our Oakhurst Family Christmas 2016

  • 5 of 5

We had a fantastic fun time together . Very roomy ,cozy ,comfortable and ,

convenient great location as my parents live 20 minutes from cabin.

The town of Oakhurst is 5 minutes down the road .

We enjoyed the game tables ,hot tub.One of the days , 2 deer went by

the front yard at dinner time.

The weather was very cold so we kept the fire going and home heat

and heat on with the space heater units .

The deck got quit icy in the mornings and night so had to really watch

your step going from studio to house and out front door. Loved the

private studio ! Front steps could use another hand railing extended

to the bottom of them for safety , the front door and kitchen door needs

some weather stripping to block the breeze coming in ,but all in all it is a

great spacious , fun home to stay at and we would stay again . Last but

not least Maureen the owner is a very nice lady and it was a pleasure to meet her .

She was so kind and available for anything . We appreciated the extra mile

they took with all the details. Explaining everything to us about the cabin and the conveniences

that she and Steve provide in the cabin . Providing dish soap ,Shampoo, soap,

coffee ,breakfast bars ,popcorn, all the wood for the beautiful gigantic fire place,

washer and dryer etc. Since it was Christmas ,her husband put up a Christmas

tree and decorated it so when we arrived we were greeted by it in the front window.

Of course we loved that we could have our Jasmine dog with us too.

A Christmas to remember !

Thank you for a great experience Maureen and Steve. Happy New Year !🎉

Homey, Comfortable and Relaxing...

  • 4 of 5

Stayed at the Cabin with my 2 sisters and 2 nieces and had the best time. Maureen was so easy to work with, responsive to questions and just easy going. Did not have to jump through any hoops to book, easy peasy. The house was well stocked, large and comfortable. We enjoyed the hot tub after running the Yosemite half marathon, it soothed our aching legs. The pool was a little chilly, but was very relaxing to lay by after our run. The weather was fantastic. The kitchen was very well stocked, with a really nice grocery store nearby, we ended up eating most of our meals at the house. Maureen was so thoughtful and left us runner appropriate snacks. We felt that was just amazingly thoughtful and reflected her attentiveness. Check out was easy as well with just a few, really simple chores. I highly recommend this family friendly home. It suited our needs perfectly. Oh and I just loved the light fixtures, very vintage. Thank you Maureen! It was awesome. Rhea, Vanessa, Lisa, Katie and Christy the Sista's with Blista's ;-)

Great cabin close to Yosemite

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful vacation, the cabin is very spacious and comfortable, and we absolutely loved the pool, as the temperature was in the 90s. The kitchen is very well equiped, and the BBQ on the patio was very easy to use. There are TVs in every room, the wi-fi worked fine, and there are many ways to keep entertained. We had a lot of fun playing ping-pong by the pool.

Maureen was great, very responsive, and we appreciated a lot her tips regarding things to do in and around Yosemite. The drive to Nelder Grove was quite an adventure, and we were happy to see the Sequoia trees, as Mariposa Grove in the Park was closed.

We'll try to go back and stay in the cabin again.

Great "home base" in the Sierras!

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful property that was perfect for our family. The cabin was clean and comfortable with plenty of room to spread out. Our teenage son enjoyed the studio apartment. The kitchen was the most well-stocked that we have ever experienced. The cabin was centrally located to all our planned activities. Close to Bass Lake, restaurants, and stores. Nelder Grove was a short drive and the hiking was excellent. No crowds compared to the trails within Yosemite. We enjoyed the swimming pool after a long day of activities and had quite a battle at the Foosball table!!! The home owner was fabulous and easy to work with. She checked in with us periodically to make sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely come back next time we vacation in the area!
