Elaine purchased this cottage in 2004
We bought the 'Dundee Cottage' about 10 years ago for our personal residence.
Manitou Springs is the 'Perfect Hamlet' at the foot of 'Pikes Peak' The cottage was renovated by Arnie and Myself so it's not really a RENTAL.....it's our other home we share with our frinds and guests. Beautiful views of the mountains from the fun deck as well as the glider swing in the front garden. Minutes from' Garden of the Gods' as well as all the regions attractions.
Manitou Springs is both peaceful and full of life. The many Artisans in town have shops to display their wares. If you want to stay busy there is always an event....something to do.....or if you want to rest peacefully on the deck and watch the day go by....the cottage is off of the main street for your quiet pleasure. Lots of fabulous eateries....both fine dining and a vienna hot dog stand.
The kids had a great time playing with the toys:)
We all had a fabulous trip! Thank you so on much for having us, we look forward to doing it again,
Am leaving the keys WV where ever we found them.
This house was excellently appointed-they had everything we could think to need (even including shampoo, toothpaste, things like that!). With two little kids (2.5 and 5.5) we were able to walk to the center of Manitou Springs and check out all the cool things to do there (if you have kids you must hang out at the penny arcade!). I loved being in Manitou Springs since we were so close to all of the attractions in the area (cave of the winds, garden of the gods-both less than 10 minutes). The house is small, but it worked for us, and the bunk beds were very nice to have. Parking was a bit difficult with a minivan, but my husband got the hang out of pretty quick and it was only because of the angle of the hill. I highly recommend this house!!
Where to start? The pictures are very misleading. The parking is atrocious unless you have a tiny car. The outside of the cottage needs a good cleaning. Yard & small front porch was in disarray. The inside needs a thorough cleaning. Floors in bathroom & living area are slanted. Toilet sits on an angle. My husband, another couple, & I stayed one night with none of us sleeping. The home owner would not refund any portion of our money due to the rental agreement I had signed. Not very good business practices since the cottage was well- below our standards.
A senior couple,we spent a few restful days in Dundee Cottage after driving around Colorado for several days. It is convenient to the downtown area and Pike's Peak Railway and well equipped. We were very comfortable here. Parking was a slight problem but we resolved it. Thanks to our hosts!
I booked this cottage for the long July 4th holiday. I wanted to stay near Manitou Springs yet have the privacy that a motel/hotel don't provide. This was the perfect place! It was only a couple of blocks from the center of town, was quiet, well kept and provided all the amenities and more that I needed. Upon arrival, there was a nice note from the owner letting us know where they kept menu's from local restaurants, entertainment brochures if we weren't sure what to do, full propane for the BBQ and so much more. She urged us to drink plenty of water due to the elevation, dropped off extra towels just to make sure we were well provided for, and overall just wonderful!!
All these extra touches, many of which I haven't even mentioned, made us feel like we were staying at a friends house.
I loved the cottage and would recommend it to anyone! In fact, if it's ever put up for sale I know someone who's interested!! :)
Thank you so much for allowing us the privilege of staying in your home!
Dundee Cottage was the perfect place to stay in Manitou Springs with my wife and two young kids. It had everything we needed, was full of quirky interest, and was ideally situated, just a few minutes walk to downtown. We loved the private deck for outside breakfasts and dinners, but best of all was the quiet and comfortable atmosphere of the cottage. Upon arrival we instantly felt right at home. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
The cottage is filled with personal touches, from the condiments in the frig to the wine and gift for my grandson left on the kitchen table. Just a short walk to downtown Manitou Springs and many attractions within miles. We made several meals for the whole family and enjoyed the quality pots/ pans and even fired up the BBQ. The home has an awesome furnace and kept the cottage warm during the cold nights. For those of you that are "flat landers" the parking is a bit of a challenge. The cottage is on a steep grade and takes some skill to manage into the small space. A great time was had by all.
Minutes to Pikes Peak Railway , Historic Old Colorado City, Air Force Academy, Broodmore Hotel. All Pikes Peak Region attractions with-in minutes.
