This ONE OF A KIND retreat is perfect for those with discriminating taste and a desire for high quality. And it's a great romantic getaway. A winning combination of location, quality and price! Why stay in a hotel/motel, or the suburbs that look like any other?

There are over 100 1BR/1BA vacation rentals in the 'Santa Barbara Area' and of these, 77 are supposed to be in 'Santa Barbara'. So how do you chose - location, location, location! And then compare our quality and price.

We are not in Carpentaria, Goleta, Summerland or Montecito. We are also not in the suburbs of Santa Barbara such as San Roque, Mission Canyon, Los Positas etc.

We are in the coveted Historic West Beach area, steps from the beach, Las Banos Public Pool, Stearns Wharf, Harbor, world-class dining, and downtown shops, including our own local farmers market. We are not next to the railroad tracks, highway or on a commercial thoroughfare.

Leave your car and associated traffic/parking worries behind. We even offer RARE off street reserved parking.

The Beach Penthouse resides in a historical turn of the century building and retains the charm of the day’s bygone. It has been lovingly restored to reflect Santa Barbara's style including hand cast plaster, 10 feet vaulted ceilings and Waterford fireplace giving it both a romantic and European feeling.

The large and private terrace has mountain views, along with dining table and chairs, chaise lounges and stainless steel BBQ to enjoy the local favorites.

The fully equipped kitchen was designed with high quality construction, including granite countertops, limestone flooring and custom cabinets from our own local cabinet makers and are complimented with high end appliances: Sub-Zero refrigerator, Espresso Machine, stove, oven, dishwasher, microwave and washer and dryer.

The living room has mountain and City sky line views along with queen size pull out couch, 42” TV, DVD, CD and stereo.

The bedroom offers a queen bed and across the hall is the accompanying full bathroom that offers a romantic limestone shower with dual head shower, limestone floors, granite counter tops and custom Santa Barbara style cabinets.

When you book with us, you are booking with the owners, which means you are not dealing with a management company, or a 3rd party call center, or a computerized mobile application. Often times the 3rd party does not live in town or even know the property. We know our properties intimately, as we both own and manage them, and have a 15 year track record. Our thirteen five star reviews speak for themselves, including our cleanliness.

Upon booking, directions are emailed along with our contact information, Restaurant Recommendations, Winery and Activities Recommendations and Welcome Notes providing detailed information about the Penthouse are also provided. There are so many Santa Barbara properties available for rent. The number one difference between all of them are location, location, location. The closer to the beach and the closer to Santa Barbara the more expensive the real estate. We are 2 blocks to the beach and downtown, not on a commercial thorough fare, not next to the highway or railroad track and not a bus ride or car ride away from downtown. We combine our location with the best pricing and the best amenities. Finally, we are immaculately clean.

5 Star Again !

As a former resident of Santa Barbara for 25 years when I return to visit

I want & need to feel as if I am "home". The Penthouse has not only fulfilled that wish, it has

far exceeded my high expectations. This has been my 3rd stay over a period of 6 years and the

unit is still as perfect now as it was during my 1st stay. The Penthouse has every possible convenience and

appliance, all of which are in perfect condition, that one could ask for. The unit is spotlessly clean & the reservation, check in & check out are simple and easy. I simply can not say enough good things about the Cava's & their properties ! Sterling LeFevre

Location, location, location!

I brought my two school age boys to sports camps being held at UC Santa Barbara. While they were at camp, I made the fidteen minute drive back to be able to work at Melanie's place! Quiet, comfortable, clean and like a home away from home!! And when I needed a change of scenery, State street and my favorite restaurants, boutiques and McConnell's ice cream were three minutes away!! Fantastic!! A very affordable option for a very often unaffordable coastal city!!

LOVED THIS PLACE!

Three of us stayed here for 3 nights and completely loved this cozy penthouse. The building is charming, the unit warm and inviting. It was completely comfortable for 1 couple plus their single friend (me!) and I can confirm that the couch in the living room is quite comfortable. The bathroom is very nice. The kitchen, though small, is really well put together and had everything we needed for the meals at home. And, of how we loved sitting on the terrace! The location is simply superb. Finally, dealing with Melanie was not only easy but enjoyable. We will be back!

Pretty little condo

We stayed in this condor for a few nights in April 2015. The location is very nice (quiet residential) and a quick walk to the beach/marina area. It is a little longer walk to get to the shopping area downtown but there is also a trolley that runs up and down the main drag from the far north end to the pier (only until around 6 though). The condo is perfect for two people. The kitchen was large enough to cook in (beautiful granite) and there is a separate area for the coffee pot, espresso machine (what a treat), and toaster. The balcony is nice and large with a table and chairs, however, there is an automatic watering system for the potted plants, and it was making the chairs wet; so we used is very little. The living room has the TV and a small stereo system. A small table for dining is next to the window. The bedroom is a little tight, but how much room do you really need to sleep in? There is a closet off the bedroom with a bookshelf and box fan (unfortunately we did not discover this until we were checking out). The bathroom was very nice with a walk in shower and soft fluffy towels. There is private off-street parking which is tight to get in and out of, but very nice to have when you come back late in the day (no hunting for street parking). The owners were nice enough to leave a bottle of bubble for us….at least we assumed it was for us. There was no note with it. :) Overall a very nice stay. TIP: You have to walk up one short and two full sets of stairs to get to the penthouse. The second set of stairs is rather steep as this is an old restored home. Keep that in mind when you pack for your trip.

Another perfect say

This was our third stay at this property overall and 2nd in the Beach Penthouse. We enjoyed it even more this time than the first! Best location in the city, walking distance to nearly everything, and the apartment amenities are high end and many. We used the kitchen extensively and thoroughly enjoyed lounging on the terrace with a glass of wine. Melanie and Todd are extremely easy to deal with. We will be back soon!

Very responsive owner, great location

The attention to detail in this until is obvious. Great kitchen and they even had a latte machine like I have at home. The location is great if you want to be close to the pier, the beach and even downtown. The whole building is lovely and the this unit is very comfortable. The unit downstairs had a leak so there was some construction noise for a few days but the owners were diligent about trying to alleviate our discomfort. I can definitely recommend staying here.
