This is our second home and with over 250 guests we have had the best. Never any damage. It has been a pleasure to share our home.
Tom and I looked for years for the best location for a mountain house. We knew it had to be Beech Mt and then it was where we wanted to be able to walk safely, so Elderberry Ridge Rd
was the only near level road. We gutted and remodeled the condo we found and traveled to places in the west and south west US to find great design elements, Navajo rugs, wall handings etc. I painted most of the paintings in the house.
We live in Raleigh NC. I own McNamara Properties, redesigning and flipping homes. Tom practices law. We have grown children and 4 grandchildren. We can't have more than 5 people at one time.
June Mcnamara purchased this condo in 2006
Tom and I went to Beech Mt for 30 years with our children. We looked all over the North Carolina Mountains many times and never could find anything better than Beech. It is never over 76 degrees and the community is so friendly and hanging out at Fred's is a huge part of every visit. Beech is like going back in time, with street dances, fairs and concerts on Sunday evenings at the gazebo. The ski resort is the best. We are 5 minutes from the parking for the ski bus and walking distance to everything. GO BEECH!
We can see approx 33 miles in 3 directions from our deck.
Our street is the only level street to walk on, on the entire mountain so we walk down to the store/cafe to eat and walk back home. In less than 10 minutes, we can ski, hike, and eat. Less than 20 minutes we can shop, zip line, raft and more eating. Less than 40 minutes we can visit 4 small quaint towns that draw thousands of visitors each year. Blowing Rock Vallie Crucis, Banner Elk and Boone all have great shopping, parades, festivals, sports, fine food, nature trails, hunting, fishing, lakes, history, music, summer theater, national parks, you name it.
We keep spotless new mattresses, professionally cleaned home, plus I am available by phone for emergencies 34/7 and 9 am to10:00pm for any questions you may have.
It was wonderful. We sledged until we had blisters. Your place is the best we have rented. Your decor is a lot more upscale than the usual "country mountain " stuff we normally get. Love the steer on the wall.
Did you get the Indian rugs in the South West ?
We will not be able to return until early July if that is okay with you.
We enjoyed all the activities you suggested.
Our overall impression of the property was just dandy. Our family had a good stay and it was close to everything.
We had the best time. The house is beautiful and upscale, not the old fashioned early American stuff we usually see. The mattresses were new and high end. The view was amazing just like the ad said.
This place was like house and garden and even the kids acted nicer in such a pretty place. We walked to a general store and cafe and took a hundred photos and ate way too much food. We found a lost dog and the police showed up in 3 minutes and found the owner in 2 hours and didn;t even mind being called. Such a friendly place. We did the tubing and even found a horse stable in Banner Elk to ride horses. We are returning for one week in the summer. Beech Mountain is going to be our second home.We had an alarm to go off and the owners had it repaired in less than an hour.
My husband and I enjoyed a quiet weekend away in this relaxing condo. The weather was fantastic, and the condo provided a beautiful view! The kitchen was well equipped for our cooking needs. The condo was well kept, pleasantly decorated, and our time there was simple. We joined the deer for exercise and fresh air on the Emerald Outback Trail which starts nearby at the town hall. Planning to return for another delightful stay.
All was just as we expected. The unit was easy to find, very clean and the view was spectacular. Traveling to Boone was easy and finding our way to Beech Mountain was too. The condo was neat as could be and so comfortable. The response from the owner to our questions was quick and very helpful. We will definately be back and look forward to staying in the same unit.
My mom and I had a great mother/daughter week at this condo. This was our first time staying on Beech Mountain and we couldn't have had a better time. The condo is very inviting and cozy, and we really enjoyed the decor. Most of paintings were done by the owner- she is very talented! We spent some time exploring Beech Mtn and also the Banner Elk area. There are plenty of good restaurants nearby and plenty of things to see. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. We would definitely recommend this property.
Our stay at this Beech Mountain retreat was even more wonderful than we had hoped. The condo was cozy with its homey mountain decor yet quite spacious with plenty of storage. We had everything we needed and loads of room for four. The view was tremendous. We could have made a hundred wall worthy photos from the same spot at different times of the day. Wildlife was abundant. We saw a mother fox and her two kits across the parking area and behind a big rock. The peace and quiet was restful. Fred's nearby is a great place to pick up necessities or shop or eat a meal. The pizza spot was convenient. There are so many interesting places to visit even if you are not sports enthusiasts, we just could not get to them all in our stay. Our favorite restaurant is Casa Rustica in Boone owned by the Pedroni's. My sister used to claim to make the best lasagna until she had theirs. We also enjoyed shopping at the antique/junk shops out toward Crossnore. I sure hope we can get back soon.
Winter skiing, snowboarding and sledding. tons of snow in the winter. Everything is quant, friendly and so many social hangouts. Indoor recreation facility, touring old Towns with OLD 1800's stores and golf and all winter sports. AMAZING Live theater and art courses near by. Zoo not too far away and fly fishing lessons.
