We love the sun, water, and snow of Kalkaska and Log Lake.
Owner purchased this Cottage in 2004
Why Owner chose Kalkaska
We chose to buy this cottage in Kalkaska for our family weekend vacations Up North. We love to snowmobile and ski in the Winter. We love to kayak and swim in the lake in the Summer. It is the perfect location for us because we like the proximity to Traverse City for shopping and Downtown events like the Cherry Festival, but we also like the secluded small lake environment to relax. No jet skis or water skiers to worry about when the kids are out in the lake swimming. We love the area and hope to retire here in the future.

Great Vacation Place
Our family enjoyed our stay at the lake house. The deck has an awesome view of the lake. The grocery store is only 2 minutes away. Close to Traverse City. Lots of good places to eat in Kalkaska not that you need them because you have a great kitchen to work out of. Hope to stay again next summer!
We love this place!
This was our 5th summer at the cottage and we look forward to it every year! Our boys are now 4 and 7 and they talk about Log Lake all the time, it is their favorite part of the summer! Perfect location, everything you need, and lots to do!
Great cottage on peaceful Log Lake
We had a great time at log lake. The cottage was clean and we'll equipped. The location was perfect, it is about a 25min drive to Traverse City. We visited Traverse City, Alden, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Leland.
The property was perfect for what we were looking for!!!
Paul was very helpful and the property had everything we needed. It was a great place to getaway but still be close enough to stores, restaurants and things to do. Very much recommended!!!
My family just stayed there recently. My grandchildren loved the lake and the kayak, I even tried the kayak too and I am a non swimmer.
The rental was close to restaurants, grocery, and gas stations.
I would recommend this rental to family and friends.
Great home. Great location.
My family recently stayed here for a week in July, 2015 and had a wonderful time. The house was so cute, very clean, very well stocked with anything you would need in the kitchen, tons of blankets, lots of sleeping options. We spent many hours in the lake. My daughters (ages 3 and 4) had such a ball in the lake. Since they don't have much experience swimming it was nice that it's so shallow near the shore and they felt very comfortable in it. It's a very quiet lake with just a little noise coming from the campground but nothing at all bothersome. We took day trips to Traverse City, Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Petoskey. They were all very easy drives, about 45 min to an hr away. We also checked out the Butterfly House and Bug Zoo just down M-72 in Williamsbug. Very cool place! We really enjoyed our stay in Kalaska. We typically vacation on the east side of the state so this being our first time to the west side, their were no disappointments! What a gorgeous area. We would definitely visit again.
