I loved the place! Thank you for making the Cabin available. I am already planning my next trip back...hopefully
a full week in January. The place was very kind to me and my novel in progress...I believe I have my ending.
Thank you, again....

This adorable cabin is the perfect spot for a true romantic getaway. It is tucked back off of the street in a beautiful foresty area and the minute you walk in the door, you know youre not going to want to leave. When we arrived, the owner met us there and provided so many ideas for us on where to eat, site see, etc. And then she let us be for the rest of the weekend. Not only is the cabin amazing, but the town of Cambria is sooo quaint. We walked around downtown, did some wine tasting, smoked cigars, and treated ourselves to a nice dinner. Everything is so clean and fresh, it reminded us of Disneyland. And of course the beach is right there and we went on a beautiful hike along the San Simeon coast. The elephant seals were captivating. Anyway, we cant say enough good things about this cabin and town. In fact, we are so fond of it that we are planning to return for our one year anniversary in July and are very much looking forward to it!!
Located in a beautiful slice of California, the Cabin proved to be a delightful place to relax and refresh after a day of sightseeing, hiking or whatever! The bed was comfortable, as were the furnishings in the rest of the cabin. A charming blend of modern (the art, wifi, Blu-ray player) and rustic, we thoroughly enjoyed our time there. It was great to open the Dutch door and let in the refreshing Cambria air while enjoying our meals or just relaxing. The kitchen is basic, but has everything you need. Be prepared to hand wash dishes, just like the "old days." There is not what would be considered a proper shower - so if that is very important to you, be aware. However, other than that, do not hesitate to book this charming property.
We loved staying in this historic clean well kept cabin. Location was quiet and peaceful and close to the village and ocean boardwalk. Owners have taken great effort to keep this cabin in exceptional condition while keeping its historic charm which is a rare find. Can't wait to come back!
This little jewel of a cabin was beyond our expectations. The kind owners have it set up to do absolutely everything right, and it couldn't have been more welcoming, more comfortable, or more charming if we'd conjured it from our imaginations. We loved the natural unfussy yard and sweetly scented plants, the chickens across the backyard fence, and the flock of turkeys making their morning rounds down the street daily. We loved the quietness of the neighborhood. We loved the simple decor, and truly appreciated the original art. We were so pleasantly surprised to find real pots and pans in the kitchen, rather than the thin, useless cookware found in most vacation rentals. And we were beyond happy to find that the linens weren't steeped in the ubiquitous laundry chemicals that usually stink up a vacation rental, covering up the smell of the ocean and trees and flowers. But most of all, we loved the actual house itself. The gorgeous craftsmanship in this sweet gem that is solid wood, both outside and inside. The beautiful original windows, which have long since been replaced with aluminum or plastic in most vacation homes. And the lovely, artful original hardware on the windows and doors. We loved the honey-amber colored fir floors, and the play of the morning light on the walls and through the ceiling beams, and the simple window coverings that didn't impede the light. We loved that the house was stocked with nearly everything a vacationer could want or need. When you stay here, be sure to buy your groceries at Soto's Market. The young couple who own it are sincere, kind, helpful, and fun. The merchandise is the freshest, highest quality natural and organic stock, and the prices are really decent. The Friday farmers' market is really fantastic, too. Again, great people, great food, and great prices. We really hated to leave here and wished we could stay for a month. It was a long trip to get to this beautiful place from our island in Washington state, but we can't wait to do it again. We plan to stay longer next time. We missed this beautiful and homey cabin as soon as we locked the door and returned the key at the end of our stay.
This cabin is an introvert's dream. Quiet, off the beaten path, yet close to the ocean and just a pleasant place to spend time. If you need to hibernate for a few days, this is the place. Most comfortable couch ever to read on or watch movies, full kitchen to cook and bake in, wireless internet, Netflix, lovely windows and a Dutch door that let in great light and it seems like a safe place for solo female travelers. The only downside is the difficulty in showering with the handheld (though it can be quite romantic if your partner offers to help :)
This review is well overdue. Spent a getway here for a few days in March 2013 and still have some great memories from the trip. The Cabin is very cute, clean, comfortable and well decorated. It had all the basics and was very cozy for my daughter, husband and I. We enjoyed opening all of the windows and doors and just the beauty of the outdoors. It's situated in a nice quiet neighborhood just above the main street/downtown area of Cambria. Would recommend a car unless you enjoy walking up and down hills. The owner the kept the place very well decorated yet simple as it should be in a cabin. Enjoyed the board games and loved the fireplace too. Hope to return sometime again soon! The place was just perfect for a romantic getway or a small family of 3.
Cambria is a small village bordering the Pacific Ocean and surrounded by beautiful Monterey Pines. We have a wonderful mild year round climate and great natural beauty. Perfect for exploring the tide pools, beaches and marine life, hiking the forests, kayaking the cove, wine tasting, savoring the local restaurants. Only a 25 minute drive to the south coast of Big Sur.
