We are so sorry that we must sell our wonderful hide-away. Please contact us for our realtor's information. We are currently not renting this year.

Note: The property is described here accurately for rental. Other information applies for purchasing.

From a quiet, secluded property of woods and lake you can swim, boat, fish, bike, and watch the sunset and listen to the birds and frogs from our hammocks at our lovely and immaculate renovated cabin on a half-mile freshwater lake, under a mile to a winery and a lifeguarded Sound beach. With a new kitchen, stocked with staples, bright great room with fireplace and plenty of comfy seating, bedrooms with large windows to let in the sun and view, and 1.5 new bathrooms with unlimited hot water, a large gas grill, you have a terrific home base for your vacation adventures. Ceiling fans and bedroom A/C keep you cool; adjustable heat in every room keeps you warm. Guestbook comments from the owner

My husband and I stayed at the cabin July 9th and 10th

We had beautiful weather and the lake was beautiful.

The cabin has everything you need for your stay.

We enjoy sitting out on the screened porch just relaxing .

Beautiful Kenny 's beach is just down the road.

Soundview Ave is a wonderful road to take a walk, jog or

bike ride. There is plenty to see and do in Greenport and lots

vineyards, farm stands ,shops and restaurants.

The cabin is a great place for a family with children or couples.

We also appreciate that it is a dog friendly rental.

The Ullman s keep the house clean and tidy!

My husband I look forward to renting again.

Awesome location, access to so much...

The cottage is such an excellent base for exploring the north fork and the east end of long island. My wife and I had a great time exploring and appreciated having such a secluded hideaway to sneak back to at the end of each day.

Relaxing Getaway

  • 5 of 5

My husband, dog, and I spent a long weekend at the Cabin on the Pond. It was our first trip to the North Fork and the cabin was a perfect base to explore the region. The cabin is cozy and well stocked with everything you need. Easy to get to from NYC and tucked away on a quiet street - close to everything but feels secluded at the same time. It was very comfortable and we enjoyed exploring Southold and the neighboring towns and then relaxing back at the cabin next to the fireplace. We were sad to leave - three nights was not enough and we hope to come back for a week next time. Thank you!

Wonderful Stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a very enjoyable stay at the Cabin on the Pond. Secluded cabin, a short walk, bike ride or drive to a beautiful LI Sound beach. We enjoyed paddle boating on the pond, such a beautiful peaceful setting. Close to wineries, farm stands and great sightseeing and restaurants. The owners were attentive to any question or need that we had. They had phenomenal restaurant recommendations, and were exact in understanding what we were interested in. Only one complaint, we only stayed 3 nights! Very relaxing and I look forward to a return visit!

Wonderful week in Southold !

  • 5 of 5

We spent a wonderful week + at the Cabin over the July 4th weekend/week. As always everything was there as advertised and then some. The owners are extremely attentive to any issues which might arise and immediately respond and fix if at all possible even small problems. WE can't wait to go back !

Map

Car: recommended

The North Fork has so much to do in diverse natural topography & unique villages! Great biking, kayaking, bird & other wildlife watching, walking down nature's paths, swimming in the Long Island Sound, Peconic Bay, lakes & fishing too. More than 30 wineries with tastings, tours, live music, & art shows. There are unique artisan shops, galleries, and specialty food stores. Farms tend to be small, on some you can pick your own; farmstands abound, with gourmet organic specialties such as fresh picked lavender & goat cheeses & soaps. Homemade pies & pastries, Long Island duck, the best fried chicken, haute cuisine, and seafood galore. In Southold, there are historic homes, an observatory & an Indian Museum. For families with children there's miniature golf & a carousel in Greenport. All are welcome on tours of lighthouses, by foot or boat, harbor cruises, musical and theatrical performances, special festivals, and lots of charity events & firehouse cookouts enhance weekends.

Other Activities: Stargazing at Custer Observatory every Saturday night

Notes:
The Great Room is open plan - living room, kitchen & eating area. The knotty pine walls evoke the woods outside & give a feeling of a real country cabin. The fireplace can change the physical or emotional temperature. The kitchen is fully set up - all electric. We leave you a nice assortment of teas - black, green & herbal; regular & decaf coffees plus the fixings and some food & spices. Feel free to take one and leave one of the books. We want you to be able to relax & feel at home. Outdoors, the kayak, pedalboat, and rowboat are there to explore Great Pond. No gas boats are allowed. Laze on the floats or tube. The hammocks are built for two each. There are bikes in the shed - even some fold-ups easy to take along on local adventures. You can set up the croquet set. Barbecue some fish from a local spot or that you have caught. Over half of our one acre property is wetlands, protected by the D.E.C. & Southold Township under a covenant with the king of England in the 16th century
