Overall we had a great stay. Grand Haven is one of our favorite towns and we love the convenience of staying above the stores on Main Street. This rental needs a few fix ups - The screen door to the balcony is broken and the sliding storm door needs to be fixed. It was still operable, just very difficult. The balcony is very narrow and shared with the apartment next door so we didn't use it as much as we thought we would anyways. Wifi went out on Friday of our stay. I contacted the owner on Saturday to say it was still out and they were responsive to say they would call charter, but we tried playing with the modem ourselves and were able to fix it. But I read it stopped working in other reviews, so it seems like it's a consistent problem. Wasn't a big deal for us but others might not be able to be without it. Also, a tv in the master bedroom would be a nice addition. There were no hangers in the closets so we went and purchased hangers and left them for the next guests because who brings hangers on vacation? You have access to washer and dryer which is nice, but only from 8pm-10am and the dryer isn't very powerful so it took three cycles of drying to dry two towels and a few t shirts, so that was inconvenient when trying to do it at night. Lastly, you can hear your neighbors. We had our two dogs and the tenants next door could hear them barking when we went out for groceries and complained. We could also hear their child up crying through the night and running around during the day - so just be aware if there is someone next door you will be able to hear each other.
Overall, the owner was responsive to questions and feedback, the place was clean and large enough to comfortably have four people and the location cannot be beat! Great stay for the rate in downtown!!
Great location, great apartment!!! Working with Sholeh was such a pleasure!! We loved everything about her rental and will definitely be back for another stay!!
Definitely will consider staying here again if we get out to Grand Haven.
First impression walking in the property is way bigger than anticipated. The parking spot is right in front of the door, with adequate additional city parking for $5/night.
The first bedroom should be considered 2 bedrooms as it slept 4 comfortably with a blow up mattress. The second bedroom is comfy and has an awesome skylight! The bathroom isn't very big but has everything you need. I would suggest brining extra toilet paper if you will be staying for longer than 3 nights. We opted to bring our own towels, but some are provided.
The kitchen is fully stocked so no need to bring any additional items. The trash bags provided are not ideal so I would recommend bringing your own!
The living area is large and can easily accommodate a blow up mattress if needed, and both couches are big enough to sleep on. We slept a total of 9 comfortably one night! There is a dvd player provided but requires a little rearranging of plugs to turn it on.
The balcony was fun, overlooking the main street and the neighbors are very friendly! Be aware that the sliding door is old and sometimes hard to open/close, same with the screen door.
Overall we had an awesome time and would definitely consider renting again in the future!
Could not have asked for a better location in Grand Haven - directly in town with everything you need in walking distance. The apartment was clean and comfortable, and Sholeh was always responsive with any questions.
This was a great rental at a VERY reasonable price! I stayed here for 5 days during the 4th of July weekend. It is the perfect location in the heart of all the action! Close to everything, I enjoyed all of the shopping and places to eat on Washington Ave. The balcony is super for people watching and relaxing. The actual apartment is very clean and comfortable. I rented it with 2 other adults and we had plenty of space. We were very comfortable with the seating arrangement in the living room, even when our parents came for dinner and there were 5 of us sitting. The full kitchen and full size fridge are also very nice to have in a rental. The ladies in the shop were very helpful with any questions that arose throughout the week. There was only 1 parking spot with the apartment, but it was not a problem at all while there are a lot of public lots you can park in overnight if you get a night permit from the automated Kiosk located 1 block away. Can't say enough good things about my experience!
