Thank you for providing a beautiful place to explore the Central Coast. We saw plenty of deer around town, had some great days at the beach, marveled at the Elephant seals, and managed to fit in a couple of days of wine tasting, We love it here and look forward to returning soon.
My family, which includes 3 teenagers and a 120 pound black lab, stayed at The Big Red House for 5 nights in August and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The house is immaculately maintained and the location is incredible! Apparently most families who stay here bring dogs but you can't tell when you're here. There's not a dog hair to be found in the place! The kitchen is well stocked, the video library is hard to beat, the flat screen TVs are amazing, and so is the view. The master bedroom faces the ocean and when the windows are open and the sea breeze is coming through it is Heaven on earth! The house is located in a very upscale neighborhood and we took walks in the neighborhood every day. If I had to find a complaint (and it's hard to come up with one) I guess it would be that the backyard isn't fenced. Our dog isn't the type that you can just let out and he'll stick around, so we had to take him out on a leash each time he needed to go potty. But who cares. We were on vacation and it was no big deal. We'll definitely be back!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Big Red House and hope to come back again next summer. Myself, and my three girlfriends, along with two Pugs had such an enjoyable weekend. The house was clean, spacious, had expansive views and Elaine could not have been more helpful in providing recommendations for restaurants, etc. It was very hard to leave her amazing place.
Our 3rd stay was better than ever, because we planned to be there for longer - 10 days! There is so much to do and see in the area, but we totally enjoy being at the beautiful home, sitting outside enjoying the many birds, and looking down at the ocean.
So peaceful. As usual, we love to visit with Elaine, to learn more about the area. She is a Dear, but won't bother you unless you insist on her company, which we adore. Also love the many restaurants, elephant seals and otters - all close by.
My husband and I, along with our two large dogs, were fortunate to stay a full month at the Big Red House. We are an active family so the location was perfect for us. We hiked at the Fiscallini Ranch every day where dogs are allowed off leash. It is a spectacular area with hills that descend right down to the ocean and it is only a 5 minute drive from the house. We loved a comfortable place to cook and hangout. The sunsets from the upper rooms were a highlight at the end of our days. It was fun to watch movies from the largest DVD collection I have ever seen. The town of Cambria is charming and a short walk from the house. For the entire month, we didn't meet one crabby person! And Elaine is a most gracious and unintrusive owner. She does such a good job with her rental. We are VRBO owners ourselves in Montana and are quite fussy about cleanliness and organization. Elaine gets extra credit as far as we are concerned. You can't go wrong renting with her.
This lovely home provided the ideal spot for my husband, 2 dogs and myself to explore the adorable town of Cambria, uncrowded beaches (at least in November - when the weather was still pretty perfect) and nearby (10 minute drive) Hearst Castle. While the home allows pets, it was immaculate. The owners were helpful, welcoming and provided every appointment needed - including new, fluffy towels and a huge DVD collection. It was a 2 minute drive to the town and beaches. This was a terrific find and far more appealing than the generic, charmless hotels nearby. Thank you, Elaine & Craig! We look forward to staying there again when we next visit the area.
We totally loved our 10-day stay at The Big Red House. It was so clean and fresh, all the amenities you can imagine. Elaine was so nice, and easy to work with by phone, and there. Big fluffy towels, amazing DVD collection, restaurant information, directions to attractions - it is all there for your enjoyment! Cambria is a very friendly town - lots of bars and places to eat - we loved The West End Bar, Moonstone Grill, Indigo Moon. Here is a hint - there is an Albertsons and Dollar Tree in Morro Bay - much cheaper than the Cookie Crock, if you are going to stay for a while. Also, Morro Bay is fun, with fishing boats and great food. We hope to go back to this rental someday.
