Thank you for providing a beautiful place to explore the Central Coast. We saw plenty of deer around town, had some great days at the beach, marveled at the Elephant seals, and managed to fit in a couple of days of wine tasting, We love it here and look forward to returning soon.
My family, which includes 3 teenagers and a 120 pound black lab, stayed at The Big Red House for 5 nights in August and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The house is immaculately maintained and the location is incredible! Apparently most families who stay here bring dogs but you can't tell when you're here. There's not a dog hair to be found in the place! The kitchen is well stocked, the video library is hard to beat, the flat screen TVs are amazing, and so is the view. The master bedroom faces the ocean and when the windows are open and the sea breeze is coming through it is Heaven on earth! The house is located in a very upscale neighborhood and we took walks in the neighborhood every day. If I had to find a complaint (and it's hard to come up with one) I guess it would be that the backyard isn't fenced. Our dog isn't the type that you can just let out and he'll stick around, so we had to take him out on a leash each time he needed to go potty. But who cares. We were on vacation and it was no big deal. We'll definitely be back!
There are great views and all the amenities to be able to relax and enjoy. It was great.
Elaine is a great host - very responsive and kind. The house is big, with multiple areas to just relax. I spent most of the time on the second floor balcony looking at the ocean and chilling out. I only brought my 2 dogs who took very nicely to the house as well. The house would be great for 4 people - there is plenty of space! It's a short walk (and quick dash) across 1 and you're on the bluffs for a nice walk (dogs aren't allowed on the beach). Also a very quick trip to town. Great experience!
My husband and I, along with our two FURkids, had a wonderful time staying at The Big Red House in Cambria, CA. It had all of the comforts of home and more. The location of the property was great for taking walks with the dogs down to the beach, into town, or just around some magnificent neighborhoods. It was quiet and peaceful, a perfect get-away from the hustle and bustle of our lives in San Diego. It was a short drive to dog beach in Morro Bay where we met new friends of the two-legged and four-legged variety. There was an impressive DVD library and plenty of reading material. The only small complaint I had was there was no fence around the backyard, so our dogs had to be chaperoned on leashes for their potty breaks. Just a small inconvenience at 3:30 a.m. when they wanted to go out. Other than that, The Big Red House is a perfect vacation retreat. We hope to plan another stay in the near future. Thank you Elaine Evans!
We had a wonderful trip to beautiful Cambria!! The Big Red House could not have been better! Not only was the house well-maintained and very clean, but, the ocean views, the great location and access to the beach (5 minute walk) made our vacation one to remember! In addition, Elaine's personal touches, and her exuberant and lovely personality made us feel welcome and relaxed. Elaine has thought of everything to make your time in Cambria fun and meaningful. The resources and guides she has in the house made having a wonderful, fun time on the central coast of California easy!! We can't wait to return!!
We absolutely loved our stay at the Big Red House and hope to come back again next summer. Myself, and my three girlfriends, along with two Pugs had such an enjoyable weekend. The house was clean, spacious, had expansive views and Elaine could not have been more helpful in providing recommendations for restaurants, etc. It was very hard to leave her amazing place.
