About the property

Charming Private Cottage Getaway w/ Large Deck & Shower. Steps to Secluded Beach

Here is the adorable beach bungalow you've been looking for. Located on the southern border of Laie, this old-time beach cottage was lovingly restored back to original. The 425 square foot private cottage has a front deck of 150 square feet with a stainless gas grill, a table & chairs with a shade cloth canopy, plus a tropical landscaped front yard with native plants and tropical flowers, that sits on a fenced lot. An over-sized walk-in tiled shower, double bowl vanity sinks in the bathroom and air conditioning throughout, perfect for the honeymoon or anniversary getaway. There's a convertible loveseat(sleeps an extra guest if need be), a roomy fully stocked kitchen for cooking in, free wifi, laundry, parking and beach equipment to round out the benefits.

This rental is just a short walk from a beautiful long stretch of secluded sandy beach (the beach access is at the end of the lane, about a 40 second walk away). It's perfect for strolling, swimming, and snorkeling with restrooms and showers close by at Kokololio Beach Park. The Polynesian Cultural Center (with its luau dinners and hula shows) is just a few minutes away. The LDS Temple is in Laie and a visit to Laie Point offers a dramatic view of the rugged coastline. A bit further down the road is the Malaekahana State Recreation Area, with views to Goat Island, a sea bird sanctuary. The Turtle Bay Resort is just 10 minutes north with two amazing chamionship golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer and is a nice place for lunch, cocktails, or dinner. Continue north and you will run into the famous North Shore surfing beaches and famous Haleiwa Town with alot of mom & pop store shopping and resturants.

Whether you decide to relax at the bungalow, or drive around to sightsee, you are sure to have a fabulous time.

About Greg

I'm a husband, father, jack of all trades, coach of all sports and owner/manager of 5 vacation rentals in Hawaii. I was raised in Hawaii from the age of 8 years old after my family moved here from the USA mainland. Hawaii has so much to offer and I hope you get the chance to visit and explore this amazing state.

Greg purchased this cottage in 2003

Why Greg chose North Shore Oahu

My wife and I love this beach property. It's so close to the beach, restaurants and grocery stores. The small town feeling and tight community on this beach lane is familiar since we both grew up in a small town, on a cul-d-sac on Oahu.

What makes this cottage unique

The beach is great. Never really rough, even in the winter when the North Shore surf spots are reaching 25 feet. A perfect beach for swimming and boogie boarding. The large shower of the Beach Lane Bungalow rental is my favorite. Fully tiled with additional access to the shower the moment you step in from the back bungalow door. The bungalow is very much suited for a honeymoon or anniversary getaway.

Guestbook comments from the owner

If you want to see Hawaii, the Hawaii of old and grace, Please come to Laie and kick back in a wonderful bungalow that has all the comforts of Home. You have the Beach three mins. away down your private excess lane. The small Towns of the North Shore with surf shops and galleries are fun to browse and buy. Food is great at many small reastaurants and the Beaches are the best on the Island. Thank You Greg for a fun stay and visit from this sourdough Alaskan ex kamahina ....2o years growing up on Oahau.....38 in Alaska now.....No place better than Laie....Thanks again Greg ..Aloha and I look forward to staying at your Beach Bungalow again.,

Restful and Relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

This intimate bungalow was in a quiet little neighborhood and so close to the beach. Greg thought of everything when it came to stocking this house. We used the beach mats and the beach towels. We used the cooler to bring lunch and snacks to the greatest free snorkeling location, Shark's Cove (much better than paying for those expensive tours).

The house was a great central location to driving north to Haleiwa or south to Kailua. It was cozy, pleasant and we had an absolutely wonderful stay at the bungalow.

Thank you so much, Greg!

Very good value (cost + space = good value)

  • 5 of 5

I often read reviews and am blown away by the number of people who don't exactly understand that there is a difference between price and value.

This bungalow isn't a high end resort, there are no granite counter tops or fancy amenities. The price for the area also doesn't go as high either as places that have those types of things as part of the overall value. This is a quaint, simple bungalow in a relatively good location to several little towns. that makes this a very good value for what we needed. It was super clean and the owner was easy to work with. We were only there for 2 days, so we didn't use the space long-term to really identify if there were any issues really. We didn't encounter any and the owner seemed very accessible if we had any questions. One super positive thing I loved...clearly if people left items from their stay, those things were kept as kind of a "pass it on" mentality. I loved that because I got sun burned the day we arrived and there was Aloe already under the sink. It was great to not have to go buy a whole bottle for a little immediate relief. (we left it there for the next person of course:))

There is a very quiet, private beach. We didn't explore it a lot, the part right when you walk in is rocky. It looked sandy further down. We mainly just wanted to be able to drive south from the location to explore that side of the island (if you really like nature/simple outdoor activities, we recommend to spend as little time as possibly over by Honolulu....this side is way better!). Easy access to a drug store and some good food and several beaches in the area.

Great Place to Stay

  • 4 of 5

We had a great time at the Bungalow. The beach was a very short walk, just down the end of the street. You will need to take a left and continue down the beach if you want to find a good swimming spot. We were not to far from Sharks Cove or Haleiwa. Papa Ole's is right around the corner with a grocery store and a few other shops. The bungalow had everything we needed for cooking and beaching. Thank you Greg!

Amazing and perfect!

  • 5 of 5

This is the perfect location to be away from the crowds. The beach is so close and is perfect for lounging, swimming and snorkling. The bungalow is perfect for anyone looking to cook your own meals. It has everything you could possibly need. The front deck is huge and Greg was very accommodating with our need for a late check out and early check in. Couldn't have had a better experience!

Perfect little cabin for 2

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay in this little cabin. It had everything we needed and the garden\porch was great. Nice big shower for two with a good shower head, lots of towels, good selection of snorkel fins, nice bedding, and plenty of coolers for poke and beer on the beach. It isn't fancy or anything but affordable and private which is kind of fancy in it's own way really after you have stayed in Waikiki. The area is quiet and so is the beach which is really close by. We saw a Monk seal sleeping on the beach one day which was really special, and a pair of green sea turtles bobbing around in the surf. Greg was helpful and friendly and so were the neighbors. The grocery store near by has everything you need and some great poke and other freshly caught seafood. Papa Ole's is a great place for some cheap Hawaiian BBQ, and the little corner store across the street from shopping zone sometimes has some amazing freshly baked Polynesian bread. Many cool zones are near by, pipe line, Waimea valley, sharks cove, turtle bay, all within 30 minutes of driving. Had a cool time in this chill town in our cabin.

Thanks Greg

Happy Couple

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I recently celebrated our Anniversary at the Beach Lane Bungalow. What a delightful stay! The Bungalow itself is spotless, charming, and 'just right' in every way. It is a 5 minute walk to the beach, convenient to delightful 'eateries', shopping, and sight-seeing. The owner is excellent to work with. We recommend, and will definitely stay at the Beach Lane Bungalow again when visiting Oahu.
