Perfect vacation!

  • 5 of 5

We arrived approx a week after hurricane Matthew went thru. Gene was amazing the entire time w keeping us informed of the status of the rental. Everything we needed for our stay was included in the unit. It was very clean and exactly as described/pictured. We were a family of 3 w/ an 11 year old daughter. We were literally right on the beach. I would definitely recommend this unit to anyone staying in Daytona. We had an amazing vacation and Gene was a pleasure to work with.

A terrible experience

  • 1 of 5

We arrived to a poorly cleaned and maintained unit. The floors were dirty, the garburator smelled, drains were plugged and the towels were thin and stained to name a few. The appliances were newer but everything else was 1970's or 80's. And then it got much worse.

We had an infestation of cockroaches that lasted until we left. The unit was sprayed twice, once by the complex manager who commented on the condition of the unit and particularly the kitchen where he thought the problem originated. The roaches spread to every room and into cupboards, drawers and closets. To make matters worse, worms arrived in our last week, almost stepping on them from the bed one morning.

Our experience was not typical. Most owners and renters reported no bugs and certainly no worms. Even our owner reported having "some" cockroaches in his stay just before we arrived that he seemed to accept as normal. Just as bad as all this was the owner's attitude. He dismissed our experience as "unfortunate", only offering to pay for alternate accomodation in the last three days of our stay. After we reported the original infestation, he didn't check back with us once to see how we were doing. After sending him photos of all this as he requested, he didn't want to talk about it or offer any compensation as he implied.

Although the view from the lanai was great as was the discounted golf, this is not a place you want to stay.

Owner's Response: We take pride in keeping our Villa in top condition and extreme cleanliness. Our Villa being located in the preferred "A" building with 180 degree views of the ocean is the most sought after condo in the beautiful Waikoloa Villas tropically landscaped complex. With all new appliances the kitchen is completely up to date. The furniture has a tropical motif and is family friendly. Being in a tropical climate one can expect an insect occasionally however Hawaii does not have worms as stated above. As we've experienced over the many years of renting to satisfied customers, if renters keep a messy dirty home they will attract insects. The complex is sprayed weekly by professional exterminators. We are always available for our renters either by e mail or just a phone call. Our on site manager lives right next door to our villa and is available for any concerns at anytime. When they or we are contacted with any items of concern are handled immediately. It is very unfortunate that some people resort to libel and extortion to try and get something for nothing as in this case. Our cleaning company is the finest on the island and continually replace and update supplies and linens as needed. Please feel free to contact us with any questions you may have. Sincerely, Bob, owner of Villas A-104

Its Paradise!

  • 5 of 5

What a beautiful and well appointed villa! I felt like home the minute I walked in. Sitting at the table, looking out over the golf course at the sunset every night was the perfect touch.

It was so nice and quiet and relaxing, that it made for a perfect 2 week vacation. Centrally located, made it easy to visit beaches, botanical gardens, and of course gorgeous waterfalls. I WILL be back. THANKS!

Very Enjoyable Stay in Waikoloa Villas A-104

  • 5 of 5

Lovely condo, great location, responsive owner, what more could one ask. We've stayed in the Villas several times, and always enjoyed it. This unit, in a particularly quiet building with a lovely view of the golf course and ocean beyond is very pleasant. What can beat sitting on your lanai in the early morning watching the wild turkeys strut by, or hear the birds awakening as the moon sets. We loved it.

No Fowl Play Here

This golf course view condo comes with an added attraction: turkeys. Seems they have been running wild on the Kona side of the island since the 1960s when 400 were let loose on a Waimea ranch. They were our wake-up call every morning. If you can’t sleep through the gobble-gobble-gobble, just invest in earplugs. In addition to its feathered visitors, this Waikoloa condo has a lot going for it. Ground floor, two good-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms make it a perfect set-up for two girlfriends (which we were), two couples or a family. Located about 15 minutes from the main highway, so 20 or so from Hapuna, A-Bay and other great beaches. Clean, cool with ceiling fans, lots of beach toys, even sunscreen, a little well-worn, but very comfortable. Owner Bob is available by phone and when a minor maintenance issue came up, he had someone there to fix it within hours.
