Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.
Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.
Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!
Unique house with an incredible view. To me this was like a house the Brady Bunch would have had if they had a summer home with an ocean view. Of course when I used this description to the others in our party they kind of looked at me with a weird look. :) But it was very seventies in some ways and not so much in others.
The other reviews are correct in that there are a LOT of stairs. You can't really do anything without at least going up or down one flight of stairs, although there is a bathroom on the same floor as the two lower bedrooms, and one off the living room/dining room so that doesn't involve a flight of stairs.
The house is cool and funky. Lots of decking. We stayed there when it was storming for most of the weekend so we didn't get a lot of use out of them, but I think they'd be great in the summertime and I bet you'd get a cool breeze.
When we came in the temperature in the house had been set really low so it took a while to warm up, but eventually the house got warm and then it was fine for the rest of our stay. I love the model boats/ships around the house and the nautical theme.
The bed in the master bedroom was really comfortable. My daughter said the bed in the middle bedroom was comfortable, but there is a constant humming sound in that room that looks to be coming from whatever heats the house so I don't think it can be diminished. It was there the whole time we were there. It didn't really bother me, but it bothered my boyfriend so I think if you're sensitive to that kind of stuff it might bother you. Depending on what is actually making that sound it might not be there in summertime, so there is that.
There is a HUGE television hooked up to a DVD and game system, but it's not easy to figure out the remotes. There are instructions in the book, but we couldn't get sound out of anything but the DVD player for a really long time. We never called the owners so it's not their fault that it took us so long, but eventually we worked it out.
It's a quick trip down the hill to lots of places in Rockaway Beach. We had a wonderful time at a place called Lakeside Hideaway which had decent food and great karaoke. We also ate at Cow Belle Cafe on our last morning in town and it was a cool family-owned place with really good food. I would recommend both of those places.
The road up to the house is relatively narrow and edges a cliff so it's a bad idea to drink and drive any time, but I would be especially cognizant of it if you're coming back to the house late at night. Enjoy your stay.
My family drove out from Minnesota to join us for Christmas. It was fun exploring the coast from this base of operations! We were overjoyed at how well stocked the house was, the view of the ocean was amazing, and the layout made it easy for us all to be together but still have plenty of space to spread out. My 6 year old niece made the upstairs nook her "princess tower".
The house has a few quirks, such as limited hot water at one time, but the overall charm only added to our experience.
Me and my wife had an amazing weekend away from the kids. The house was very quiet with no one to bother us. Overall i would say this was an amazing house. Thank you.
Me and my wife had a little getaway from the kids this weekend and it was exactly what we needed. This home is very quiet with no one to bother us. It also had amazing views throughout the whole house. Overall it was a spectacular house. Me and my wife were very pleased. Thank you.
For the price, this is a tremendous deal! We were pleasantly surprised at the panoramic views from almost every single room. Be prepared to climb many many stairs as this house has six levels.
The houses furniture was extremely outdated and old, but that was fine for us as we had kids. The dark paneling on the walls made the inside dark , but the views were amazing.
We would definitely stay here again because the price was right!
