Guestbook comments from the owner

We love staying in your cabin! It is beautifully maintained and cleaned and perfectly stocked with anything we could need for a summer vacation on the lake. The kitchen/dining area is a delight to cook in and easy to keep clean. The bathroom is a definite plus as far as lake cabins go and we really appreciate its size and amenities. We had fun using the deck and yard last summer for outdoor dining. We look forward to staying there with our family again this summer.

Thanks again and we will see you this summer, if it ever stops snowing...

Very clean, very quiet!

  • 5 of 5

Our family enjoyed staying at your cabin on Benway Lake. It was just the right size cabin for us (4 of us) and it was extremely clean. It was nice having the kitchen and laundry also. We enjoyed boating, kayaking and fishing through all of the Chain O'Lakes. We took trips to Bellaire to eat at Shorts, spent a day on Torch Lake, drove into Traverse City one day, and spent an afternoon in Charlevoix. All were within reasonable driving distances. We would consider staying at your cabin again and will recommend it to friends. The owner was also great to work with.

Clean & well stocked - great kayaking location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed at the cottage for a kayaking trip and it was a great location to explore the Chain O' Lakes in the area. The home is VERY clean and has pretty much everything needed in the kitchen & bathroom. Pat was very accommodating and helpful and has done a nice job keeping the place up. None of the nearby cottages were occupied so we had the place to ourselves and it was very quiet. The double beds were small but not uncomfortable. Price was reasonable for the area. Would definitely recommend this home for paddling or boating, not so much for swimming or laying on the beach though. For us, it was ideal. Thank you Pat!

Owner's Response: Thank you Lori! Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay. Although our lake access is more suitable for fishing and boating, there are a couple of sandy beaches for swimming nearby. We were very pleased with how nice you left our home and want you to know that you are more than welcome back anytime. Hope we actually get to meet you though next time!

Very nice place

  • 5 of 5

Our Family was attending a wedding in the Charlevoix area. We were in need of a place that would sleep 6. Motels in Charlevoix were so expensive, and in order to have enough room for our family we would need at least two rooms. I came across this cottage on VBRO. What a find, yes the drive to Charlevoix was about 15 miles, but it was well worth it. The place was clean, very well stocked, and fit our family just fine, the owner was more than accommodating. If we ever wanted to go on vacation in this area we would be sure to contact Pat, and see if the cottage was available.

Owner's Response: I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay Paul! I was sorry I didn't get to meet you in person. But, it was nice to meet your daughter and her boyfriend, both of whom were very lovely people. Thanks for booking with us and you are always welcome back.

Clean, out of the way, quiet, friendly

  • 5 of 5

Not in the main flow of busy locales like Petoskey or Traverse City, this cabin sits just off a quiet lake visible from the living room. Super clean, excellent internet, comfy furniture & beds. Sleepy Central Lake & Ellerton close by, with boat & paddleboard rentals in Central Lake. Within an hour of the busy spots, but relaxing & quiet for excellent value. Weber charcoal grill on deck. Dock access to lake. Must have breakfast at Front Porch in Ellerton. Friendly market with all you need in Central Lake. Owner is kind, helpful and friendly.

Owner's Response: Thanks Mike! It's nice to hear that you enjoyed your visit, and yes I agree, the Front Porch in Ellsworth does have the BEST breakfasts around. Hope we get the pleasure of seeing you and your family again sometime!

Great Little Cottage on the Lake

  • 5 of 5

We visited Pat and Michael's cottage for a wedding and found their place to be the perfect base camp for our family. Upon arriving we met the owners who gave us a quick run through of the property and were great to chat with and learn more about the area. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed that we either forgot or didn't think about bringing- shampoo, laundry detergent... you name it, they've thought of it! We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and having our morning coffee while watching the lake- very peaceful. Overall, a great place to stay! Thanks again Pat and Michael!

Super nice

  • 5 of 5

This cottage was beyond my expectations for the price. It was very clean and included things I never had in a cottage rental befor like dishwasher and washer and dryer. It also included things like shampoo in the shower and since I forgot mine that was awesome!

Owner's Response: I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at our home. We do try to keep some 'extra' supplies around, like coffee, paper towels, laundry soap, etc. in case of an emergency. It is so easy to forget things like that when you are packing. Most of us have forgotten something at some point. Glad to know that we were able to help out with the shampoo and hope to see you again sometime!
