Hi Gary and Pam,

We returned last night from beautiful Netarts. Here's the key to the house, with our gratitude. I signed the guest book but want to reiterate that we loved your warm, cozy cabin with the jaw-dropping view.

We loved the happy spirit you created with the travel photos, and the eclectic touches, like the Apple Pie neon sign, which added a rosy glow to the nights. The amenities you provided were fabulous and welcoming.

You created such a warm, welcoming atmosphere, making the visit extra relaxing....... ..the star-filled nights were dazzling. --you bring enjoyment to all souls who have been lucky enought to accept your hospitality.

Thanks so much, Gary and Pam for letting us rent your lovely home. We adored every minute and hope to return.

Enjoy the summer and be well,

Jillian

Guestbook comments from the owner

Pam and Gary,

Just a quick note to let you know that the "dry landers" from Colorado were delighted with your rental home. My husband Dave & I have traveled a great deal on the Oregon coast, staying in many B&B's,inns and cottages. We can think of no other that has offered the sights & sounds of the Northwest Coast as well as your home. Our friends, who were on their first trip to the Oregon coast, were equally as pleased. How fortunate you are to own such a beautiful property & how wonderful for us to have found your web info. Thank you again. I know you will hear from us again.

Regards,

Dave and Lucy

Amazing view

  • 4 of 5

We have been back over the years and the view is always spectacular, rain or shine! Quiet long walks on the bay and beach. Great full kitchen. Comfortable. Very relaxing. Thank you for sharing your space.

Wonderful view and comfy house

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here over new years with my kids and their friends and our two small (and well behaved) dogs. It was very comfortable, easy to get to, and the view is fantastic! Not great for little kids or people with mobility issues because of stairs. So close to the Schooner and the little shops on Crab Ave. like Lex's Cool Stuff and Bayside Market (our favorites).

Incredible view but not clean

  • 3 of 5

The combination of the bay and ocean meeting with an incredible view can't be beat!

The path from the house to the beach is great when it's not raining but would be slippery and muddy otherwise. The house was built in the late 70's and early 80's and needs to be updated. A fresh coat of paint, new pictures and flooring would make a huge difference. When we arrived the house was not clean to our standards. It also had that mildew smell so we worked to open the few windows, that would open, to air it out. Windows on the inside were very dirty, on the outside as well, but didn’t dare get on the wood planks to clean them. The pictures in the kitchen had old food stuck to them. The round window over the sink was very dirty inside and out so we did our best leaning over the deck to clean it. The deck protective glass was green with mold. We cleaned as many of the cobwebs on the ceiling as we could reach but never did get to the downstairs where there are many above the tub and in bedrooms. The bedroom windows also need attention. Clearly the house just needs a deep clean.

We found some things that are very close to broken or don’t work. The kitchen faucet knob comes completely off while trying to turn it on. The toaster doesn’t work, There is no way to open a window in the second bedroom downstairs. It has plastic over it. The cheese/meat drawer in the fridge falls down with any kind of food in it, as soon as you touch it. There’s a light in the living room that doesn’t work. The gutter on the roof facing the ocean seems to be bent and there is grass growing in it so no water drainage.

The spiral staircase goes down to the 2 main bedrooms and my dogs would not use it so we had to go in and out of the bottom side door and bring them around to the front door. The staircase is very narrow so would be hard for some people. The bed in the loft would not be good to sleep on.

I sent the owner a letter after our stay but never heard back.

After the house was clean, it was very comfortable and the view was amazing!

Beautiful sunrises and sunsets

  • 4 of 5

Pretty much everything you need, except food is here. As with any place on the beach or coast, the property has a bit of a rustic look. Could use a coat of paint on the inside, but over all, a great experience. The trail down to the beach is not too steep and was easy to go up and down. The sunrise was nice and sunsets were awesome! There were a couple of good eating places, but if you want groceries, you really need to go to Tillamook. Be sure you can go up and down stairs since you will need to in order to get to the bedrooms and bathrooms that have the tub & shower. We would definitely stay here again.
