Our cottages are located on the banks of Lake Thurmond. It is a great fisherman's getaway. An uncovered dock with 10 slips is anchored behind the cottages for your use. You can launch your boat in front of the ship store at no cost and leave it at this dock during your stay. This area is a fabulous vacation or weekend get away any time of the year. Typical attractions in the cooler months are hunting, golfing, fishing, exploring the many islands and secluded beaches along the lake or hiking or biking in the 50 miles of trails along the lake in the little river blueway (www.littleriverblueway.org).
The weather here is suitable for outside activities 12 months out of the year. The golf courses never close, fall and winter offer excellent hunting and fisherman and boaters use the lake even during the winter months. If you are looking for a get away for Christmas and New Years this would make a great place to spend that week.
For Masters Golf fans the cabin is only a 40 minute drive from Augusta, GA.

Great location and hard to complain with the view we had. We had stayed there before so we knew the Double wide trailers were dated but didn't realize that after 2 years it still hasn't been upgraded. When we were there last we stayed in the same trailer and it had its own floating dock, now the dock is gone( it was up in the woods at the end of the cove) so we had to either beach the boat or put it in a slip. Putting it in a slip wouldn't have been a problem except for 2 things. It is falling apart and covered in goose crap. Now to the trailer, the toilet seat was cracked(not fun to sit on) and the showers weren't draining very well. The trash can inside the trailer had old food and other trash from previous renters. The small Things that they could change easily would make that place a dream spot.... Wasn't expecting a Taj Mahal just something a little better maintained.
I was somewhat reluctant about renting because the 2 reviews listed were somewhat negative. After staying at the cabin I realized there must have been hundreds renting this cabin and only 2 gave a bad review. Apparently these reviews were written by a couple of disgruntled guests who were dishonest in their statements. Our stay was delightful and the cabin was very nice.
We stayed over July 4th week 2011. Four adults and two children. The bathroom tubs had not been cleaned. We had to clean them before the children could bathe. Dishes were caked with dried food. Thank goodness I brought paper plates and plastic ware. Coffee pot did not work. Kitchen had ants. Carpet was filthy. Towels were thread bare and stained with holes. Picnic tables needed some serious repair and the docks were in need of attention. The location is great. It is such a shame that the owner has let it go. Sent email to owner with pictures and did not get a reply Will not stay again and can not recommend.
The location of this is wonderful BUT the homes need some work. There aren't full settings of dishes, silverware, or pots & pans. It was a good thing we brought a pot from home & knew the people next door so we could share these things. Needs a lot of updating.
