Sonoma County Cabin Rental Photos and Description

Cabin, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2-4)

Come relax and unwind in a tranquil cabin in the trees. Located just a mile from downtown Guerneville near the idyllic Russian River, this charming hillside cottage is perfect for a romantic retreat, an outdoor adventure, or working on that novel you've been meaning to write. You truly feel away from it all in this peaceful setting with stunning forest views. Simple vintage furnishings and a lack of distracting technological amenities allow you to enjoy the quiet curled up on the couch in front of a fire or lounging on the spacious, private deck with outdoor shower and tree swing. Take a short stroll to the neighborhood beach at Summer Crossing, or explore the many wineries, restaurants, hiking trails and antique shops in the surrounding area.

Built in the 1930s as a summer getaway, the cabin was beautifully crafted from local redwood trees with a number of delightful details that make it unique. The lower level has a cozy bedroom with a built-in full size bed. The bathroom has tiled floor and a redwood shower. Exit the lower level to go up the stairs to the upper level, which has a spacious open living, dining and kitchen area. The living area has a comfortable convertible bed in front of a wood stove. Sit on the stool at the bar while your loved one prepares a meal in the kitchen equipped with refrigerator, stove, oven and utensils. Enjoy your meal at the dining room table while looking out over the trees from the giant picture windows.

****PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING****

Please read this description thoroughly, as well as traveler reviews, to ensure our cabin is the right fit for your traveling style and expectations. This is a homey, unpolished cabin in the woods. Those who love peace and quiet and rustic getaways from modernity LOVE our place, don't mind the stair workout to get there, and keep coming back. Please read on for important things of note:

Kids and pets are welcome at your own risk as there are no child safe railings on the deck and no fenced-in area for dogs. The cabin is on a quarter-acre of wooded land on a hill. There are about 80 steps from the parking area to the cabin (see picture #14), so it is definitely not wheelchair accessible and may be difficult for the elderly or those with knee problems. The privacy on the hill is worth the trek!

Due to its lack of central heating and insulation, the Treehouse will not be available for rent in December and January. Due to popular demand, we have extended our season to include November, February and March. We do this with the caveat that it may rain and could be chilly, but if you want it, you got it.

Why The Owner chose Sonoma County

We fell in love with this cabin the moment we saw it. It is absolutely charming and we feel removed from the stresses of the world while we are there, yet we can head out and be at any number of amazing restaurants in minutes. With the Russian River just a short walk away, the beautiful coast a mere 15 minute drive, and the amazing unpretentious plethora of wineries nearby, this location has all the best Sonoma County has to offer. We have traveled extensively, and we feel it is truly one of the best locations in the world.

What makes this cabin unique

We have intentionally kept our cabin as simple as possible. While we are there, we don't want the distractions of television or the internet. Other places may offer more amenities, but our peaceful place is perfect for reconnecting with nature and one another or just enjoying a good book in silence. Plus, there aren't too many places private enough that you can enjoy a shower in the outdoors under the redwoods.

Peaceful and rustic

  • 3 of 5

Wonderful place to get away from it all if you are looking for a peaceful environment and don't mind rustic (but clean and comfortable) cabin amenities. Although it was July 4 weekend and a lot of rowdy party types in town just a mile or so away, it was very quiet most of the time, and I'm sure it would be even quieter normally. Very comfortable bed in detached cabin, beautiful setting in the woods with pine forest views from every window and a great deck with picnic table and chaise lounge chair to drink in the piney air. A lot of steps up and down to the cabin from parking space, so if you have physical limitations or a lot of stuff to carry this would be an issue. Also lighting the oven pilot light every time was a bit tricky. Otherwise ideal and within walking distance of the river.

wonderful stay

  • 5 of 5

my two friends and i had a wonderful stay at the treehouse this past weekend. the space is perfectly cozy with that quintessential rustic river charm and is well appointed for a quick trip into town, the beach, or a wine tasting outing. the host made sure it was easy to find extra linens and the kitchen was stocked with enough pots, pans, cutlery, spices etc for our needs. my favorite thing about the cabin was the incredible feeling of waking up in the morning and looking out the big windows into the trees. you feel so secluded and "off the grid" when you're here, its exactly what we were looking for. thanks so much for a great weekend, i already told my sister we should take a trip up together before the end of the year and look forward to visiting again!

Charming Cabin Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time for our weekend stay. The treehouse had everything we needed, we wish we had more time to sit around and enjoy the cabin and surroundings. But the cabin also served as a great home base for a weekend out and about Guerneville/Russian River.

We will definitely try to make it back.

So cozy and relaxing!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I stayed in the Treehouse for my birthday weekend, and we loved it! The stairs are a bit daunting, but good exercise, and totally worth it once you reach the top. We were looking for a super relaxing weekend, and we found it here. From the extra-cozy bed downstairs to the awesome wood-burning fireplace upstairs, we napped, drank wine, cooked our meals in the kitchen, and enjoyed the deck and garden in the sun. We walked to the river access point, and hiked along the road for a bit in the mist. Did some shopping at the nearby Safeway and antique stores, and had a birthday shot at Stumptown Brewery. All in all, we highly recommend staying at the Treehouse. We can't wait to visit Guerneville again!
