This summer house was built in 2006.
We had a great weekend up at the cottage - it was two couples and the place was perfect for us. We were pleasantly surprised by the spread and wine that met us and loved the outdoor patio and vines to enjoy during the day. Centrally located, but ideally enough off the beaten path to feel secluded. Highly recommend!
This was our second time staying at Summer House and it didn't disappoint. The house is very clean and well kept and the setting cannot be beat in Sonoma. It sits at the end of the road and as soon as you step out the door you're immediately surrounded by a small vineyard. The property is absolutely stunning! It is so quiet and tranquil, if you sit on the porch you just don't want to leave (until your wine runs out). The residents in the main house are the friendliest people - we love them! They made us feel so welcome!! The proximity to Sonoma Plaza is awesome - we walked it a few times and it was an easy 5 min drive in the car. I would recommend staying here to anyone visiting the region!!
This is a gem if you're looking for a quiet homey place to stay that is close to town but away from the fray! It's an in-law unit on a private drive with clean quarters, a nice bathroom, and an immaculate garden with a vineyard. We were able to walk/jog to town for meals and shopping. Several great wineries are in the neighborhood. It doesn't have a stove but there is a portable full-sized electric burner, microwave, and fridge. Kathy and Dick took great care of us. We would book this place again in a heartbeat. - Dave H (stayed April 2016)
My husband and I recently stayed here for a week and it was absolutely delightful!!! Our daughters live in California so it gave us a great place to visit with them and explore Sonoma County. The house is charming! Roses were in bloom all around the outside of the house and you brushed up against the sweet scent of lavendar when you entered the cottage. It was quiet, serene, and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the linens were of high quality. It was an easy drive or bike ride into downtown Sonoma and a good jumping off point for exploring Sonoma, Napa and even SF which was about an hours drive. One of our favorite vacation spots to date. We will be back!!!
We could not have imagined a beautiful setting. My husband and I traveled with our daughter and son-in-law for the weekend. This cottage was perfect. Comfortable and inviting, this cottage has beautiful wrap around porches, plenty of space and a gorgeous garden. It was a great location for visiting the area. On Sunday we past the hotel where we almost stayed instead……made us even more grateful for this place. Would visit again and recommend.
My 2 sisters and I took our mom to her hometown of Sonoma for her 80th birthday. The location was perfect, coincidentally 2 blocks from her childhood home. It's close to town, but feels quiet and idyllic with plenty of open space and views. There were daffodils blooming and a vineyard right in front of our deck! The deck is great for reading in the early morning and late afternoon sun, with really cute, comfy chairs. The house was charming, airy, and open. Such a warm, inviting feel when you walk in! There were nice little touches, like wine and cheese in and milk for our coffee. We could have stayed only at the cottage the whole weekend and had a marvelous time experiencing Sonoma.
