Guestbook comments from the manager

We have just returned from a marvelous week in Brugge. Your home was so nicely located, very cozy, and with a well stocked kitchen, all of which made the trip indeed memorable. Your agent Mr Grande was very helpful. Your house book was full of all the information needed, and contributed to a very expansive sightseeing experience.

You can be assured of our return visit one day and that we will recommend your home to friends contemplating a trip to Brugge.

Great place for the price

  • 5 of 5

Very neat and clean. Comfortably accommodated our family of seven which is hard to find. Within easy walking distance of the bell tower and other attractions- maybe ten minutes. Great price- especially considering how clean it was and all the extras (washer/dryer, chocolates and beer upon arrival, very informative tourism book, nice kitchen- with coffee!). The hosts are very helpful and kind as well. I have nothing bad to say- highly recommend!

Our brief stay at De Hoedenmaker was great! It was so charming, clean and comfortable. Both Frances and Marie-Christine could not have been any nicer. We did enjoy the little treats left out for us. We love Bruges and when we go back we would like to stay again at De Hoedenmaker.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

My friend and I stayed for a long weekend. The house was just the ticket - absolutely everything we needed and more. No cake forks but perhaps they're just English! Francis was charming and helpful. Bruges is just gorgeous - everything we did and saw was delightful. Hint: hot chocolate by the big food market comes with a free advocaat shot between 10.00 and 12.00 on market day.

Wonderful unique period home.

  • 5 of 5

Our family of five loved this charming home. We enjoyed the spacious layout and convenient location to explore the wonders of Bruges. Centered in the old city, sights, shops, restaurants and bars are all within walking distance. Enjoy the twists and turns of the old quarter - a real adventure! Francis and Marie-Christine are very welcoming, professional and helpful. The home itself is very clean and well outfitted. Our three teenagers were in awe of the character and history of the house. We were all very comfortable and after long days of sight seeing, were happy to come back to a place that felt like home.

The best rental we have ever stayed in

  • 5 of 5

You must stay at this home! Of all the rentals we have stayed in over our many trips abroad, this was the best. The house is very spacious and has everything you could possibly need in it or nearby. We were easily able to pretend we lived there. The location is great, as it is far enough away from the tourist area to be quiet and tranquil, but close enough (10 minute walk) to see the sights when you want to. The hosts were great and provided a lot of useful information about Bruges. I would happily stay in this rental again!!

Wonderful house in Bruges

  • 5 of 5

De Hoedenmaker certainly lives up to a "charming 17th Century Flemish home". It has all the conveniences of home...including a washer and dryer which we found very helpful. The house is just a short and enjoyable 8 minute walk to the central Square. And, only a 20 second walk from Tom's restaurant. Do make reservations for evening meals as it is a very popular place. If staying in though, the kitchen has everything anyone would need to prepare a delicious meal. If we return to Bruges we'll be sure to stay once again in this wonderful home. Francis, the owner, is as charming as De Hoedenmaker is itself. He is proud of the house and very helpful if there's anything that requires his attention. You won't be disappointed if you're fortunate enough to stay in this extremely well maintained and spotless property.
